If any gun cases get in front of the SCOTUS, it will go gun owners way. We now have a conservative majority of 5-4 for at least the next decade. If we get lucky, Trump will get to replace 2 more Justices with conservatives before he terms out. That would get us to a 7-2 majority. We would be covered for multiple decades. Assualt Weapons Ban - will be struck down Magazine Capacity restrictions - will be struck down May Issue - will be struck down And btw, I'm so not tired of winning. MAGA! And F...K NJ.

Yeah, I dunno where the negativity is here. We have 5 pretty pro gun justices now, all they have to do is accept the appeals and I can foresee a lot of gun laws getting over turned. Magazines and AWB will probably be the first. Carry could be a toss, but we should be able to make some considerable gains. @mossburgerThis has nothing to do with passing laws, this is about striking them down!

There is a short period every day at dawn and dusk, and under certain indoor lighting conditions, where tritium night sights are very useful. They call it Mesopic Lighting Conditions. Nightsights are also a useful reference if you are in a static position of advantage/dominance and wish to line up your sights on a backlit area without giving your position away. That being said, if I could only have one I would choose: 1) Weapon mounted light 2) Handheld light 3) Nightsights In order of importance in my opinion. Link to another NJGF Thread on nightsights where I talked about this very topic. Still tangentially relevant to this discussion: Photo example of mesopic lighting conditions: Note the bright - but not overpowering - tritium and the ability to still see the outline of the iron sights. You can see the outline of the white body silhouette and the black box inside without the use of a white light.

Since having the light, the ambient on the sides more than provides enough light to easily use the sights. So why even bother with night sites? It seems if it’s dark enough for night sights, it’s too dark to make out the target.

Received this morning - seemed too logical to not have one. It came with the “Glock/Universal” key already installed and it snapped right on, seems rock solid. I’ve heard that the TLR-1 can take the finish off the PVD in the spots that its clipped on, but I’m not overly concerned with that. Anyone else with P229’s/Legions find that one of the other keys provides a tighter fit? Obviously, I haven’t shot with the light installed yet.

RIP FTF Sales in NJ Up for sale is my just like new AR build in a strange chambering that's just gonna fire the same Lake City ammo that all over the other ARs out there do. It's got only 386 rounds through it. Yes, that number seems oddly specific but I swear it's factual. I totally promise, I keep exact round counts on all my guns because that's what normal people do, right? I bought this thing back during the panic of Obama's first term, and made my decision mostly on panic buying and the various recommendations of mall-ninjas on the internet. OK, so now for the price. I know you can order rifle kits to put together 4-5 rifles these days and arm your entire family, for the price I'm asking for just this one, so let me explain. See although I loudly tout my love of free market capitalism in the Politics section, I believe that the basic laws of supply and demand don't apply to me, so I'm hoping you don't do any research and pay what I paid ten years ago for this thing. Now, let me painstakingly list in detail every single accessory that I slapped on this thing while it sat in the safe over the last ten years: Lastname Tactical Gunworks Customs trigger kit, it has a 2.63855 pound pull and although I haven't got a lot of time on it, people on the internet assure me it is a superior choice. Southern State Armory SOPMOD CQC SEAL Team 6 CQB MOLLE KEYMOD PICATINNY handguard, this puppy looks super sweet, it weighs only ten pounds but you can hang another ten pounds of lights and lasers off of it. Heinz Frankfurter Schnitzel specialty 24-48x140mm red dot Holo sight scope. Although I've only taken this thing to the 25yard line at my local indoor range, I figured the $1400 for this scope was a better investment than several hours learning the fundamentals of rifle shooting. Custom Baked on Arma-Kote paint job in a super obnoxious color scheme and featuring my favorite comic book character's logo. I don't really care if it's your style or not, I paid big money for this and expect you to as well. A whole host of custom grips, stocks, lights and lasers which the instructor at the class I took assured me are what the LAPD SWAT team uses, and he even heard from a friend of a friend, who knew a guy that was "over there" in the Middle East (but can't really talk about it much, duh) and during his time with his secret unit they used this very same foregrip as well. I've also got a bunch of extra grips, magazines and stocks which I will throw in or sell separately, for the low low price of $5 less than they would cost brand new from that website that has free shipping. You'll have to spend your day driving halfway across the state to pickup, but that's totally reasonable for the price I'm asking. Here's a couple pictures I took with my flip phone, in the dark, during an earthquake. The gun is blurry in all of them but somehow my big toe is always in good focus. OK so now that we've got that out of the way, I'm asking the super low price of only $3,750, cash only, FTF must have COE, FID, DL and a time machine. Edit: Price drop, $3,735 EDIT: price drop, $3,720 come on guys this is a steal! EDIT: Ok, FINAL PRICE DROP $3,7000 FIRM.

I would not under any circumstances cut the spring. Even if the spring didn't go around the block, loading it to 10 rounds with the block installed would be no harder than loading it to full capacity without the block installed. Some magazines have a little plate that goes on the bottom of the spring. You may be able to argue that epoxying the block to that metal plate should be sufficient, since the magazine was designed to function with that metal plate. Then you would still be able to disassemble and clean your mags. And honestly, I think the chances of your mags being checked is slim to none. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, or a NJ resident anymore.

So... I am heading to a local "maker-space" that is on a monthly subscription basis. @alec.mc and @Zeke have offered to help but they are, honestly, a bit too far for me. The maker-space is a quick 15 minute drive from my home and is open 7 days a week. They have more than enough tooling to get me going . Seems like they're nice enough gents that can and will help with any questions I have about the machines. I can also do several other things there that have been sleeping in the "shop" for a bit. Maybe I can actually clear some of the half done projects off my bench and see some stuff thru. @Old School take it easy on @Mrs. Peel. She's a PR whiz and sees things from all angles.

My mom recently retired and is presently looking to move to Italy for her golden years. Turns out if you want to live in Italy you have 6 months to pas a stringent language test or else you are given a time period in which you need to leave the country. Am I a racist because I think this is a good idea? I see people that have lived here 20 years and cant speak a lick of english. Me personally i would want to learn the local language. Makes it a lot easier to find the restrooms!

Certainly NOT that I would want Chris to be the subject of a NJ.com article. But...#1 I think your view is kind of paranoid and #2 without push back we're letting the firearms phobic win. And lastly, nowhere did the OP say anything about fashioning a gun stock. Congrats Brett Kavanaugh!

Guess you didn't read the article. "Currently Bulletproof Everyone offers jackets in Men, Women, Child, and Teen sizing. They also offer a men’s polo and replacement panels for the jackets. The pricing ranges from $279 – $429 depending on what you are looking at purchasing. If you are desiring to do a bulk order for law enforcement or any other reasons, they can do personalizing of clothing as well. To get that pricing, turn-around time, and options it is best to reach out to Bulletproof Everyone and speak with them directly"

I asked a similar question in the mag thread in the gun law section. I didnt get any responses. My understanding is, it cannot be "easily" reverted back to large capacity. Which is purposefully ambiguous. I agree with above. The blocks i purchased from magazineblock.com limit the movement of the follower to accept more than 10 rounds. Which means the spring still needs it original form to function reliably as it's position remains unchanged in the body of the magazine. Nothing says you cant be cheap on the epoxy and find a way to glue them closed so you can eventually one day pop the base plate off.

The spring goes around the block. Cutting the spring would make the mag unreliable or unusable.

One of the biggest fails in this country is when Congress failed to pass a bill in the 1980's to make English the official language. This country would look entirely different today if that had happened. This fail is in large part the reason many people no longer assimilate into our society.
  32. 1 point
What about the fact the the DMV has books in many languages to help them pass the test to get a license. does any other country do that? We cater to everyone except our own. Sorry to say but If this keeps up in 100 years we won't recognize our country.

Hmm... perhaps someone else can weigh in and help clarify this...? There's a business in Whippany called Firearms Support & Service (FSS) - it's the same exact address as Gunsitters - a storage facility. Sooo… is this the same business? An affiliate? Or did one buy out the other? I'm just not clear on this. But... the site is not terribly far from where you're staying, @Nucrunner. And I do seem to recall hearing that there is a decent collection of guns for sale at that site. Anyway, might be worth a call to figure out what it's all about and see if it's worth your time to visit. Here's the links. Good luck! https://store.firearmssupport.com/ https://www.gunsitters.com/

We are the only country that usually speaks only one language and don’t require immigrants to speak English. Most countries speak several languages. Don’t know what the school requirement is here today but we were required to take 2 years of a language in HS... I took Spanish figuring it would benefit me but forgot almost all of it due to lack of use. In grammar school, I learned some Italian to help a new family that came here. Their son and I became good friends. He helped me with Italian, I helped him with English. Again, lack of use left me forgetting. Biggest confusion with Spanish and Italian, lots of the language are very similar. Talking about screwing with a young kid’s head. [emoji6] If that is Italy’s requirement, hats off. Everyone should know fluently the language in the country they call home. [emoji1303] As for the evil element today, watch how fast the say ‘no hablas ingles’ when they see the cuffs cone out! HA! I'm not sayin' give up the fight! NO WAY, NO HOW! I just merely stood-up for us old coots that still shoot the Holy Black. Someone posted a pic saying, in effect, "NJ will be happy when all we have is black powder". Then I identified the rifle in question. THAT's ALL I DID, so apologies if I "TRIGGERED" you, lol! Here's a peek into my head: It is better to know HOW to use something, even if you don't own it, so IF the need ever manifests itself you'll KNOW instead of not knowing. Analogy: You're at the range and someone new to black powder is shooting close to your lane/port. He/she does something that puts everyone at risk--like leaving a can of powder or a powder measure at the firing line were an errant spark from a discharge could mean trouble (an explosion on the firing line). If you KNOW what NOT to do (even though you don't own a black powder firearm) you can chat with the shooter & schmooze the potential risk away w/o making a scene. Maybe even make a new friend that lets you shoot his/her gun (so you have all the FUN & none of the MESS that black powder is known for)? Another analogy: Shooter has a new-to-them M-1 Garand & isn't sure how to load a clip into the rifle OR how to load loose ammo into an en-bloc clip. Gets the clip into the rifle W/O HELP but gets light hits on the primers & rifle no go BANG. You chat him/her up and watch them load another clip, and when they do so the gun's Op Rod is operated slowly as the first round is chambered. Like they're actuating a bolt gun. Even if YOU don't own one, you've correctly diagnosed the trouble as operator error. Not letting the Op Rod slam home means the extractor hasn't fully seated over the case, and the bolt face is a tiny bit away from the case when it's "in-battery". The "fix" is to show the owner how to "slap that bitch so it behaves" and the extractor engages & jumps-over the rim of the .30-06 cartridge so the firing pin can do its' job. Welcome to the world of being me, a Chief Range Safety Officer. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Just recently "finished". I've had the lower for quite some time, and it's gone through several different iterations, but I think I'm done for now. Spikes Tactical lower Daniel Defense LPK w/ ALG ACT Daniel Defense DDM4V5 lightweight upper Magpul STR stock (not neutered) Aimpoint PRO Magpul 30rd PMAG Streamlight ProTac HL-X It's quite heavy, so I think my next 16" AR will concentrate a little more on weight savings. I have considered replacing the lower with a DD lower, just to satisfy my OCD. Oh and it's located in NH, so all those goodies are legal

I agree with you. The people who are responding "just shoot him" are only thinking about the specific moment, not the events leading up to that moment. Of course, your wife is going to shoot an intruder if she has to, no matter who "owns" the gun. But why do people have a problem with you asking a question before that moment comes? You're only trying to make a justified shooting as legally simple as possible. Of course, 4 pages of responses and I don't think we've found a good answer, yet.

only if this state had wording in its Constitution that made it so there was some sort or unalienable right to defending our life and protecting our property this would be a non-issue, you know something along the lines like this... All persons are by nature free and independent, and have certain natural and unalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, of acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and of pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness. Wow to have a right to defend ones self and protect ones property that was absolute, actual, certain, definite, fixed, imprescriptible, inalienable, incapable of being surrendered, indefeasible, inviolable, lawful, prescriptive, privileged, rightful, unalterable, unimpeachable, untransferable, wouldn't that be nice?
