Welcome from another Monmouth County guy. There’s a few of us here. And good call on the Pork Roll. You are clearly a man of education and integrity. Plus, it proves you can read. Now @BoatGuy go here: https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/54786-pork-roll-or-taylor-ham/#comment-705026 And vote accordingly.

Leather, handcuffs, and pork roll. New guy says, now it’s a party!

Well, unfortunately I’m a vegan so... haha just breaking balls. That would be horrible! Grew up in Taylor Ham country but since migrating south of NJ’s Mason Dixon line, I’ve become a pork roll guy. Just makes more sense to call it by what it is rather than the brand.

Second of all, we tried to address Peel's gross abuse of power by throwing her a blanket party. When she found out, she got excited, but after she found out what a blanket party really is, she got REALLY excited. Don't trust a woman who wears leather and likes handcuffs. She's unhinged.

NJ State Supremes to issue opinion on Cheeseman-Jillard Case this Monday Nov. 5th! NJ SUPREME COURT TO POST OPINION ON CCW CASE! JOHN JILLARD AWAITS MONDAY RELEASE OF NJSC RULING! by Black Wire Media Saturday Nov. 3, 2018 www.cnjfo.com/join-us John Jillard is waiting for the New Jersey Supreme Court to post their opinion of his gun carry (CCW) case in which he sued the State of New Jersey for ALL OF OUR 2nd Amendment rights to be restored. He (and all of us) will learn this Monday morning November 5th at approximately 10:00am just what our Black Robes have to say. His suit attacks the unconstitutionality of the long-standing rules never voted on by our Legislature, and therefore is NOT set-up as an individual fighting "Justifiable Need" for a single carry permit. Instead, Jillard's case (and Mark Cheesman's which was heard separately) puts the rule making process itself under a microscope, thus exposing the "House of Cards" it truly is! Historian & 2nd Amendment ally Jay Factor, himself a CNJFO member, has spent countless hours researching written gun law all the way back PRIOR to the founding of this country. He's looked under every rock, found hand-bound leather volumes of common law & terms applied in olde English that date back prior to the founding of this great country, and wrote the suit for Jillard & Cheeseman. Never before has such a suit been undertaken! The Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners continues to support this MISSION OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS! The entire scheme of #JustifiableNeed needs to be overturned so folks like Carol Bowne, the Berlin, NJ woman stabbed to death in her own driveway, have a fighting chance! For more info on #JustifiableNeed, go to: www.JustifiableNeed.com . Mods, please roll the previous thread on this same subject into this one, as this thread provides background & insight into the heart of the matter at hand. Thanks, Rosey

Welcome to the forum. How well you will get along here really depends on one thing, porkroll or taylor ham, and it had better be porkroll.

I'm so torn as to whether I want to see victory here or defeat. Victory will probably fall on deaf ears. I don't see this state complying. Defeat could probably mean on to the US Supreme Court. Although the highest court has never looked better for us that would be a long drawn out process. Not to mention expensive for Mr. Cheeseman. Tuesday counts!!

Although it's posted as being from the Supreme Court (NJ) on the website link in my previous post, Cheeseman has just informed me that in fact it's actually in the Appeals Court, but since NJ considers them the same, for me to "leave the story as-is" So I hope that unconfuses you, me & everybody else! Here's what Mark posted a few minutes ago: "Appeals court how to file argument of denial . Re permit to carry a handgun. 1 Two copies to police chief 2 Two copies to county PROSECUTOR. 3 Five copies to NJ appeals court. 4 Two copies to municipal court Judge. We filed a 63 page argument. Now double that , Cheeseman / Jilliard . Wait for county to reply. When county replies you have 10 days to reply again. Same process same entity's get our reply to county. We filed a 13 page reply . By now county officials and police chiefs and judges know who we are and what are objective is. We have shown case law and documents that support our argument. Case by case determinations were thrown out long ago by Heller. We prove justifiable need was never legislative intention. We show the Siccardi rule is bad law. How this has been missed in previous years and cases is beyond my understanding. I stand by and will not waiver from our original argument. Why would I listen to attorneys who have failed. Key is convincing the judges. I ask Jay Factor I get an answer with proof. If I have to argue this myself in court . So be it". Rosey

Thanks all. I didn't realize the new law went into effect on the private sales. That takes care of that. A FTF at my FFL would be fine and I could keep the scopes mounted and not have to worry about shipping. Just bring along the empty boxes. OK, I guess I'll take some photos this weekend and put up an add or two on the WTS Forum. Thanks!

Furthermore, the way the laws are written, you could unload & transport your hand gun (that you got from being named in a will--no papers) to all 100 of your owned or leased properties, and pop yer car's trunk & reload it with a speed-loader or loaded mag prior to patrolling that specific property. Dumping the mag & popping the chambered round into yer pants pocket, and then securing that hand gun & ammo where you can't reach it enables you to patrol continuously, without stopping, for as long as you wish, so long as you steer directly to the next property with yer unloaded sidearm... THE EXEMPTIONS ARE YOUR FRIEND!
  23. 2 points
If you own or lease the property, no FID is required since it's covered under the EXEMPTIONS! Doesn't have to be a residence. Could be a patch of land surrounding a sink hole. If ya own it, you can patrol it. Laws go all the way back to pre-rev war where land owners had more rights. Guess what, it's STILL THERE, only they don't come straight out & say it! Rosey

I loathe Democrats: "You need a photo ID to purchase ammo". How about for voting? "That's racist!" They want background checks for everything gun related. Getting into the country? Nah, let anyone in. Notice they don't support "undocumented" gun owners?

What happened to our nice, family-oriented forum? I lay the blame squarely on @Scorpio64. He made it all turn bad. That's what he does! Now, shush and behave yourselves - these forums are supposed to be G-rated!

Hey Mrs. Peel, Thanks for all the info. I shoot recreationally. I used to belong to Cherry Ridge but after the kids were born I just didnt have much time. Theyre a little older now so it’s easier to get away for a few hours. I currently belong to Range 14 down at Ft Dix. Lately I’m getting really into the idea of competition shooting, but don’t have the first clue on how or where to start. I’ll definitely keep my eyes open for the meet and greets. Thanks again and hope all is well. Joe

Welcome aboard, BoatGuy! Do keep an eye on the "events" forum - it provides opportunities to meet fellow posters face-to-face. For instance, there's a clay shoot coming up next weekend, 11/10, in Clinton, NJ. No shotgun needed... plenty of loaners. So, what do you like to shoot? Into competitions? BTW, if there are guns or shooting sports you've been thinking of trying, I recommend you mention it on here... you'll find that our posters are very knowledgeable and quick to help out and extend offers to guest you in at ranges, etc.

Ok... I'm feeling neutron start dense right now, so can someone dumb it down for me? It's NJSC that has the case, and they're going to probably vote FOR the state? Which means next stop SCOTUS?

Funny you say that. As my wife and I looked at over 80 houses every once in a while we would joke to each other saying, "That driveway is gonna be a bitch in the snow and ice"

Won't be plowing that big driveway too often, either.

I recently became a New Jermany Escapee, moving to Florida. We are so happy we made the move. We just got tired of all the political BS and crap being carried out by Trenton. Were also tired of the taxes. We initially rented a house (for four months) and just moved into our home last week. While there are many parts of Florida that are cheaper than where we wanted to be, many costs are comparable or even higher than in NJ. Our home is off a large lake in a gated community in Northern St Johns County which is the richest of the 67 counties with the best schools in Florida. Our home is over 4,000 SqFt with 5 baths and a nice inground pool - so factor that in when you consider costs. Our homeowners insurance is about double what it was in NJ, it is high in FL because of hurricane risk. Our property taxes are about 45% of what they were in NJ, but when you factor in HOA and CDD fees they approach 60% of what they had been. The zero income tax is very nice - make that extremely nice. Food prices, especially fruits and veggies are much higher than NJ. We went into shock when we first got here and found that things like peppers, tomatoes and other veggies were priced the same as NJ for the "each" versus the price per "pound" in NJ. We kept going to stores and refused to make the purchases, and instead bought lots of wine which is cheaper People can't drive here and car insurance is expensive as lots of fender benders. It also drives me crazy that when people want to make left turns they don't pull into the middle of the intersection, rather they sit back at the stop line and when the light turns red rather than complete the turn they just sit there - arg! People in this area are so nice we cannot believe it. When we are out walking the dogs every person that drives by waves, some even stop to say hello. Our neighbors are amazing. The day after we moved in one came up to my wife and said he saw we had two sedans and if we need to pick up any big stuff feel free to come take his big SUV. Another told me he had a 12' step ladder I could use if I ever needed it to change light bulbs. Turns out I already took him up on that as we have over 40 recessed light fixtures many 14' high and I changed out all the old incandescent bulb with new sealed LED trims. Guns, well almost everyone has one, or many many more. The guy across the street has over 100, and we live in a very upscale area - no rednecks. Just about everyone has one in the car, and while carry permits are almost automatic you actually do not need one to have a loaded gun in the glove box as long as it is in a holster or case. If you have a permit you can have it just sitting on your lap as you drive. Have to admit strange going to USPSA matches where people shoot 9mm PCC with mags that hold 59 rounds. NEVER EVER EVER would I live in the Socialist People's Republic of New Jermany again.

...." "We must ensure that those intent on acting on hate through violence do not have access to guns," Murphy said at a news conference in Trenton. "No matter how strong our laws are, we must act to close loopholes." This guy is a fucking asshat. Criminals, by definition, don't follow ANY laws. He can pass as many unconstitutional laws he wants. They will be a ZERO deterrent to any criminal, just like every other current law on the books. How fucked in the head are these Democrats that they don't realize that yet? Can we send fuckface Murphy to Chicago for a weekend? ....." State officials said New Jersey has about 300 gun-related killings per year, most of them in Newark, Camden, Paterson, Trenton and Jersey City. " Hey asshole, does that did you ANY clues??

If you own firearms and don't vote R. You might as well sell all your guns. Have to get all the fudds out to vote too!

Not worth it. You are looking for a hardware solution as a quick fix for a software problem. That rarely works. Yes, a magnifier will help you see better, but it will not help you shoot better. You’ll just see your missed shot a little more clearly. Plus, you get what you pay for. I can’t imagine a $100 magnified having decent glass. The Romeo 5 is a decent optic. I recommend you spend more money on ammo and training instead of a magnifier and learn to master the RDS. You will find you are faster and equally as accurate from 0-200 yards with just the dot as you are with a dot and a flip up magnifier.

A "3-9x40" scope will have a magnification range of 3x to 9x. The 40 is the size of the objective which is the opening of the scope further from your eye when looking thru the scope. It allows better light in low light situations Tube size, which was alluded to in another post is different. A larger tube will allow for more adjustment up/down and left/right to account for distance and windage. You will want as much adjustment as you can find if you are shooting a 16-18" barreled AR out to 1000 with factory ammo. It can be done and, if you enjoy a challenge, it will be fun. An illuminated scope will have a reticle, or part of a reticle that lights up. It's not night vision. Of your choices, I personally own a Leupold VX5HD (I have the 3-15) and the optics are almost as good as my NightForce. Or, better put, the NightForce does not have glass that is twice as good as the Leupold although the price is twice as much. I would recommend the VX5HD over the MarkAR's as I experienced a bit of fisheye when looking thru them. That's me and your experience may be different. I can't speak on the Sig scope. Good luck. I find glass to be the most difficult decision when shopping for firearm parts. It can be very confusing and it for sure gets extremely expensive. (if you're ever up in North Jersey and want to put an eye thru my Leupy, shoot me a PM.)

What happens if a state continues to go further into debt? Where does it end? Nothing happens. There is no end. They can spend, spend, and spend. The citizens keep paying, paying, and paying.
