Visited Reloaderz NJ open house today. Very nice facility. The staff are knowledgeable and the range itself is one of the best indoor ranges around. The target management system is very advanced with many training modes. Only 15 lanes so it could get crowded at peak times. We signed up for monthly weekday membership. More info to come.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you... and your loved ones! Thanksgiving is one of those rather unique holidays in that EVERY American can enjoy and partake in the tradition regardless of religious leanings, race, ethnicity, etc. I think that makes it one of those increasingly rare "unifying" and relatively non-controversial experiences in this country. So, take a moment to express gratitude to the loved ones who make your life richer... be thankful for your cozy, warm home (on what will be a very chilly Thanksgiving)… and savor your sumptuous Thanksgiving meal. If you're in a position to give to others, I personally find it to be a perfect day to sit down and write out a check to one or two worthy charities to help out others whose lives are less abundant. Oh, and if you're traveling to visit family or friends, please be very careful... traffic will (as usual) be totally bonkers. ENJOY!!

I completely disagree with your analysis. Both sides did an excellent job in advocating their respective positions and the judges were not dismissive of either sides arguments

That’s a fine looking cycle. By the way, “tour pack” is what people who ONLY know Harleys call the trunk. Keep the shiney side up & rubber side down, my friend!

Now you've got me doing it. We have all kinds of alcoholic beverages in the house, bought just for the Thanksgiving Holiday, and now reading this thread made me whip up an old fashioned instead, following this recipe: Esquire's Old Fashioned Recipe I used Woodford Reserve bourbon; don't have Rye at the moment. Why that recipe? Because I loved step 3: 3) Crush the sugar with a wooden muddler, chopstick, strong spoon, lipstick, cartridge case, whatever. Happy Thanksgiving!

I was driving back from an appance showroom and it took me right past Shooters in Jacksonville. There was a line wrapped half way around the building but I called and they had the 365. I had nothing to do so I got inline and chatted with some good gun folks and it made the hour go by quite quickly. They had some system to move people along which I won’t detail. Anyway I had no idea that the place is so busy because the prices are quite good. Sig P365 and a 50 round box of sig 365 branded ammo for 460 bucks. I bought the 12 round mag, some critical defense ammo and while waiting for my NICS check I noticed they had reloading supplies that were within pennies of online prices. So I grabbed some tight group, cfe223 and some assorted boxes of primers. I was out the door with all my goodies for a hair under six hundred bucks with tax. Some Black Friday sale now I just need to find a holster. I guess I’ll be listing my grip laser SW shield cause I’ll never put this sig down.

I think I’ve got it. Just had a couple may have one more and I’m not on gun broker. Here’s what I did. Made my own simple sugar from filtered water and regular white sugar. 2 oz Michters rye 2 dashes orange bitters 2 dashes regular bitters 1/2 tsp simple sugar. I use a bar decanter with ice and then stir. Strain into old fashioned glass. Orange peel and lemon peel. Outside facing down twist to express some oil into the cocktail mixture. Rub peels around rim then stand up in the glass. For ice I bought a mold that makes large round ice (balls cubes would be square) so it doesn’t melt in the drink. Molds: https://www.amazon.com/Arctic-Chill-Silicone-Whiskey-Chilled/dp/B00GLPSNQQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1542852110&sr=8-4&keywords=large+round+ice+cube+mold heavenly.

Talk about coididence, also went there to check it out, same time as you it seems, that's me in the blue jacket, going to wait a bit and check it out after it opens to see the crowds and crunch some numbers. I normally just go on weekends, but with being closer then RSTP & GFH might make it during week on in a while. Really nice place overall maybe meet up there.

What do y’all like for an ‘everyday sippin’ bourbon? (I don’t mean as in ‘every day, of course, more of a go-to casual drink sense). Personally, Eagle Rare is my favorite. Buffalo Trace is a close second. For an inexpensive bourbon, I can’t tell you how much I like Evan Williams. Great bang for the buck in the bourbon world!

The best things to do after Thanksgiving is making turkey and lettuce sandwiches with Durkee's Famous Sandwich Sauce. We do that for the couple of days after Thanksgiving, to finish off the meat.... Delicious! AVB-AMG

This year is a bit different for us. Today is our 10th wedding anniversary and our 3rd son was born 2 weeks ago. My lovely wife agreed instead of hauling the kids anywhere (older boys are 4yrs & 2yrs), we would stick it out at home and be a thankful family of 5. We are also ordering Chinese food and couldn’t be happier about the decision. God bless!

I popped the cap off a few beers last night. I've pretty much stopped drinking the hard stuff. I'm a finisher, as in if I open the bottle I feel I need to finish the bottle. Works out well with beer not so much with liquor.

Several weeks ago I purchased a pristine Model 27-2, blued with an 8 3/8” barrel, presentation case, tools and docs, from a member of the S&W Forum. The interval between purchase and arrival at my FFL spanned a weekend. My weekends are taken up with shooting IDPA or USPSA. This particular weekend it was an IDPA match. A gentleman in our squad was shooting PCC – the first I had seen anybody shooting in this division. I thought that looked pretty cool, but also thought it kind of cost prohibitive to put together a PCC on an AR platform like he was using. Then I remembered a conversation I had with my gunsmith a month or so before. He was showing me his PCC – a Ruger PC Carbine – and extolling its virtues. My gunsmith isn’t just a smith, he is also a Grand Master in IDPA, USPSA and ICORE, so when he talks, I listen. With that in mind, I started thinking about the Ruger as a means of inexpensive entry into the PCC Division. I started researching prices and found a LGS with a very good price, but still just a little bit more than I wanted to pay, at the moment. So the day came when my 27-2 arrived at my FFL. He is a semi-retired LEO and runs a small store out of the basement of his house (aren’t they always the best kind?) After completing the paperwork for the 27-2 I just casually asked him to quote me a price on a Ruger PCC. I was really surprised when he came back to me with a price significantly less than the LGS had them for – so I had him order me one – what else could I do? So the Ruger comes in and last night I trek over to his house to pick it up. I walk in the door and there is somebody sitting in front of the desk, waiting for his NICS to come back. In front of him there is a S&W box and to the left of that, a stainless S&W revolver. It took me a moment to realize that the box was brand new and the revolver wasn’t. So after inquiring if the revolver was what he bought, and getting a reply in the negative, I picked it up to examine it. It was a 625-3 with the 3” barrel. It still had the original Pachmayr Gripper grips on it. It was in excellent shape. The wheels started turning – let’s see, first the 27-2, then the Ruger – do I really want to spend even more on this 625-3? I figured it was a moot point because I was sure that he’d want much more than I’d be willing to spend, so I said, “I’m not even going to ask.” I completed my paperwork and was preparing to go, I took one last look at it and said, “OK, you got me, how much?” You know that cliché about spraining your shoulder by reaching for your wallet too fast? That was me. He quoted me a price lower than I’ve paid for any N-frame in the last ten years – and I’ve stolen some. Hooked. Since this is NJ, it remains at my dealer until the 30 days from my purchase of the 27-2 are past, but then it comes home. I now have three 25’s (25-2/6.5”, 25-13MG/4”, 25-14/3”) and three 625’s (625-2/5”, 625-8PC/4”, and now a 625-3/3”) and one 325PD in 2.75”. There is nothing like an N-frame in .45 ACP (and before somebody jumps on me and says the 25-13 is a Colt, not an ACP – I’ve had TK perform his magic on it, so it’s both). I’m almost afraid to find out what “bait” my FFL will have laying around when I go in to pick-up the 625-3 – when will it end? (Never, if I’m lucky). Adios, Pizza Bob

It's ridiculous to you, in particular, Young Greenday, because the very concepts of "constitutional rights" and "law and order" are likely ranked pretty low on your list of core personal values. From what I've gathered, you're far more enamored and motivated by a more millennial values mindset (e.g., promoting "equality", banning "hate speech", combating "institutional racism", etc.) Although it's always possible your current values might be ingrained for life... I suspect, as you get a little older and get some life experience under your belt, your values may shift to the point where you hold a greater respect for those first 2 values mentioned. Just a guess on my part! (Based on my own journey...) In the meantime, learning to respect others' points of view and not labeling their values or arguments as "ridiculous" might be helpful. Why, who knows what wisdom you might gain if you tempered your knee-jerk dismissive arrogance just a bit?

I see nothing luxury about those ranges. If free drinks were brought to you while you lounged in a big man leather massage recliner while watching every sporting event from around the globe, and then there was an option for a free hand massage with steam room and sauna, then that is luxury. I apologize in advance if someone else said this but I recommend new shooters learn step by step how to strip and clean their firearms. It helps when you learn what all the pieces do, how to take them apart and put them back together again. Sure, some firearms can function for thousands of rounds filthy. But if you learn how to take apart your firearms and put them back together it helps if there's ever a malfunction. There's groups that have have free firearms cleaning classes, there's videos on YT, there's experienced people all over this message board that I'm sure would be willing to help someone learn how to clean their firearms. ( And probably have a few extra dirty ones if you need more practice [emoji1787] ) Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

You can shoot the match w/o a holster. To do so you need to "start at Low-Ready" (loaded gun at a 45* angle pointed at the floor, finger indexed along slide--NOT inside trigger guard!), and use a gun "rug" or case of some sort that you can fasten closed and lay on the floor. You need 3-4 mags or speed loaders. More is better. Our match is a 60-shot COF per relay & most shoot two relays. We change mags on the clock. If you can't drop yer mags on the floor you won't be allowed to shoot, as a gingerly-placed mag encourages the act of crossing yourself with a hand gun (a D-Q'able offense that requires you put your gun away). We make you observe an entire relay so you can listen to Range Commands & see what everybody else does SAFELY. Takes about 45 minutes. Then you can shoot the next relay. Learning thru osmosis is easy. I've trained pre-teens to shoot .22's from Low-Ready, so any adult can do it. Muzzle awareness is KEY for safety. I promise you will go home a better shooter than when you showed-up! Rosey

It's called a HAND GUN, not a HANDS gun! After you learn the ways of pistol craft using both hands, consider this: If you are injured in a scuffle or a firefight, or you are carrying a child for instance, you might have to use WEAK HAND ONLY to take-out a Perp. If you don't have what it takes to DO THAT for any reason (poor mindset, too much recoil, stove-pipes every other shot, lack of practice, etc., etc.), your hand gun w/ its' 10 round mag (or 20+ in a Free America 9mm 2011 for instance) has become a SINGLE-SHOT, so the first round better hit the Boiler Room! WTF did he just type? Read on! Let me repeat that: Your semi-auto pistol has become a single-shot due to a malfunction caused by poor recoil management due to stress or already being hit with a piece of pipe or you took a round to your strong side or a hundred other things that can happen. Do you know how to perform a Tap-Rack-Bang Drill? Do you even know what it IS? Can you shoot your defensive hand gun employing WEAK HAND ONLY? If the answer is "no" then you have to either practice a LOT & up your game or go buy a revolver! You have to PAY for this type of training. You can't teach it to yourself standing in a static shooting port. You either go to a Firearms Class that teaches advanced fighting techniques OR you learn thru osmosis by attending IDPA matches that will teach you to USE COVER WHILE ENGAGING! I teach weak hand technique on a monthly basis as Match Director of the OBRPC Police Pistol Combat league. You don't have to be a Cop to shoot the league, in fact a non-member of the Club can shoot it for just $20 American. We draw loaded sidearms from the holster, engage threats from 7 to 25 yards, and work on several shooting positions, some of which are behind cover. It's positive reinforcement of learned skill sets needed for all types of "action shooting". Learning to walk before you run We meet at the indoor range on the 2nd Friday of every month. Consider this an invitation. Just let me know you're coming. Rosey

There's plenty of other reasons. A lot of us, and I say us because I'm an AK enthusiast, just enjoy them plain and simple. Love the way they look, the way they shoot, reliability, love that there are so many different models, love the history, and there are plenty of modern upgrades now to enhance them if one wants to.
