Here is the reason: "PA LTCF covers "firearms" statewide. An SBR is is a PA defined "firearm" due to its measurements(barrel or overall)."

I’m not an AR10 fan—I’ve had several very nice ones but they’re heavy, more expensive to build and at least two different formats DMPS (LR308, and Armalite (AR10). The rifles I’ve assembled were all LR308. They were quite nice and very accurate but they were heavy and had much more punishing recoil than anything in AR15. The Creedmor is a nice round but I’d still build an AR15 in 6.5 Grendel over any AR10 at this point. Here’s a good article comparing the .308 to 6.5 G and it pretty well summarizes why I’ve not gone to .308 in a while. I’m not dissing .308, it’s a competent popular round with plentiful ammo. However, Grendel is also popular competent round with plentiful cheap ammo if you don’t reload. At 800 yards Grendel and .308 have the same velocity due to the improved BC of the 6.5 bullets over the 30 caliber ones. http://abesguncave.com/6-5-grendel-vs-308-the-part-everyone-misses/ Here’s a good chart showing drop. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fc5s8y6j6.stackpathcdn.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2017%2F04%2FBullet-Drop-Comparison.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Flifeundersky.com%2F6-5-creedmoor-vs-308-winchester%2F&docid=96X35XPAJLlWOM&tbnid=-kz70RRSn3mLtM%3A&vet=1&w=600&h=279&hl=en-us&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim Just MHO but I’d go, and have actually done so, AR15 in 6.5 G over AR10 in CM or .308.

Lot of truth here but its different learning to shoot on Uncle Sam's dime than on your own for most people. And as I've gotten to know you, you also learned to shoot when Marksmanship mattered and a lot of those former le were former military which is simply not the case today so there are some fundamental differences. But great post!

Sorry for the delay...just seeing this. SCAR is nice but buy it when shelling over the money doesn't hurt...is it worth the money they are going for now? NO...I think you can buy a lot more variety of rifles to learn on vs a single $3500 SCAR. I would start with @DaddyNick suggestion but if you feel you need a little more go with the AR 15, AR 10, or AK and work your way up to the scar and other higher ends rifles and calibers. Ohh and my SCAR is no longer for sale @Zeke im holding off for @Mrs.Zeke its hers when she's put away enough of your money

Do not buy anything that has the name Kimber on it. Especially if you want to actually shoot it.

Actually IMO it doesn't make much difference what you learn to shoot on. A 22 has a lot going for for a newbie. Low recoil, low cost (both guns and ammo), and removes any problems from recoil. It let's you concentrate on trigger control, sight picture and other things. Also if you decide that you really don't like shooting that much you're not out a lot. On the other hand, millions of cops and those in the military attain, at least as a minimum, shooting skill without ever shooting a 22. I learned how to shoot a rifle using a M14 in basic training. I learned how to shoot a pistol with a 1911. 25 years ago or so there were a few LE agencies that experimented with teaching new recruits with 22s first before going on to service pistols. They found no benefit to it. One of the things I always did teaching new recruits is the "Barney Fife Drill". I would have them load with one round and fire. It didn't matter how much experience they said they had. If they dropped the gun or break the 180 (I've seen both) better they do so with an empty gun. I still do this with introducing newer shooters when introducing them to more powerful calibers like 357 and 44 mag. Having said all that I usually start new shooters out with a 22. The first time I took my grandson shooting he said he wanted to try a 9mm. I started him with a 22. After watching me demonstrate shooting a 9 he declined and went back to a 22. Things have changed since then but don't force anyone to shoot something they don't want to. JMO. I've only been a firearms instructor for over 45 years and still don't know everything.

We live in a state where 2A rights have been raped by multiple levels of government for years. A state where children have been suspended from school for participating in legal, sanctioned, shooting sports activities while under the direct supervision of their parent on the weekend. I find it offensive that anyone should dare attempt to suggest that it is beyond the capability of these socialist elitist dictators to violate our 4th amendment rights while pursuing their goal of disarming citizens.

TV shows are bad enough but tv commercials are far worse. Its out of control. Department stores, cell phones, pizza, medications, insurance, etc. They pile it on thicker every day.

not even close so don't try that. Every freaking show has to have interacial, gay couples or someone from the left's social engineering flavor of the month club as someone who couldn't give a crap about this stuff in the past, even helped my republican ww2 vet grandfather marry 2 gay couples in Vermont before it was legal anywhere, I've now moved into the anti column. I'm tired of having stuff crammed down my throat and teach my accordingly. Liberal left wants us to accept and think this all bs is mainstream, it's not. Gays are less than 3% of the population and while I don't begrudge anyone their lifestyle, don't force it on me. I do think trannys are deranged and it's a mental condition and I'm not changing my view. If you look at manufacturing, 2-3%is baked into warranty returns, humans are no different I'm tired of the word racist being used so liberally. Most don't even know true racism much less the difference between bigotry, racism, and hate. Oh and I've lived ALL over the country, in every region and the NE is BY FAR THE MOST RACIST and it's not even close

I enjoyed the movie. That said, of COURSE Sandra Bullock winds up in an interracial relationship. In TV/Movies these day EVERY couple is either two gay guys or two gay girls and if it's not the prior, it's interracial. If the relationship is involves a white male, he will be gay or with a black women. It's pretty annoying. I could give a shit what people do but there are people who date within their own race on occasion and are hetero. I know, it's a shocking statement.

Ah, Greenday… I see there's hope for you yet! Seriously though... you're 100 percent right, that's not his place. In fact, it's a pretty appalling attitude from a range officer. This is all part of the modern trend of infantilizing the public and encouraging a learned helplessness... I've really grown to hate that! If you want to reload, I'm sure you'll be a smart cookie about it... you'll research it carefully, ask a ton of questions, and you'll do it safely. That's all there is to it.

You claim none of us will receive an 18 month jail sentence for possessing a 15 round mag yet that is precisely the purpose of the legislation. Murphy and his fellow totalitarians in the NJ legislature and judiciary want nothing less than eradication of legal gun ownership in this state. If that means throwing every gun owner in jail for spurious, unconstitutional crimes then so be it. It is settled law in NJ that "When dealing with guns, the citizen acts at his peril". So yeah, perhaps some of us would get off with a fine and no jail time (and loss of the right to ever own a firearm again), but there's no guarantee and that's precisely the point. For someone whose dealings with law enforcement never extended beyond a speeding ticket, the prospect of a felony prosecution, possible jail time, and the loss of their constitutional rights - not to mention the potential deleterious effect on their future employment prospects - is a massive incentive to get on the first train out of here. You categorize as imbeciles those who believe the intent of this legislation is to "nail unsuspecting gun owners". Given the public record of NJ courts and the legislature, it's the imbecile who believes otherwise.

Only ONE open firearm allowed in a Port? You're at the wrong joint, lol! Here's a pic from a typical Tony Simon Diversity Shoot. When the next shooter steps-up they point to what they wanna shoot. Noobs get to dry fire, and old hands help load mags. Only ONE gun is handled, loaded & fired at a time. FYI the same guy owns the Chiefs Special, The Thompson, and the Red 9 Mauser Broomhandle. Everything gets opened prior to the crowd's rush, then cleared prior to being put away.

I don't get it. No lowers, no stocks, no trigger parts, no buffers, no buffer springs, no grips. All those parts and not even enough for 1/2 a gun.
