Strong work by this security guard. This is an outstanding example of good people with guns standing up to bad people with guns and being a protector. ***Important point of order*** We shoot to stop. We don’t shoot to kill. That very important distinction is what makes us the Good Guys. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn’t understand the laws pertaining to the proper application of deadly force, is attempting to perfect the art of machismo and braggadocio, or just trying to be funny. Yes, our application of deadly force may cause our target to die. Yes, the application of deadly force that will stop a threat fastest and be most appropriate may be to use a weapon or TTP that will cause instant death - but the actual killing of another human being is never the goal. As for first aid supplies, I keep a TQ, gloves, compression bandage, and Quick Clot on me when I carry a gun. Its primary use is for me and mine. Its secondary use is for other innocent victims in the area. Its final use is to treat my target. That is if they survive long enough for me to complete my post engagement sequence and are validated to no longer be a threat. I also carry some kind of restraint for the event I get a psychological stop of the targets actions vs a physiological or traumatic stop.

That guy Jerry Miculek can shoot a revolver at automatic speeds. 8 shots in something like 1.2 seconds, or similar. He did 6 shots and a reload then another 6 in under 3 seconds. They gonna ban fingers? Ban practicing good technique? I know, he's special, but it still makes the point I think. The gun-ban-nuts will never get wise to the fact that guns CAN be a good thing. Instead of wasting allll that money fighting against guns, it would be far more effective using it for hardening the "soft targets" with training and equipment and planning that would "SAVE THE CHILDREN" .

Looks like Cornyn's has the same issue as before: ...." Cornyn's plan would grant reciprocity while still keeping intact state prohibitions on those not allowed to have gun permits. " He highlighted these points in his bill: Allows law-abiding citizens to exercise their fundamental right to self-defense while they are traveling or temporarily living away from home. Allows individuals with concealed carry privileges in their home state to conceal carry in any other states that also allow concealed carry. Does not establish national standards for concealed carry. Does not provide for a national concealed carry permit. Respects state laws concerning specific types of locations in which firearms may not be carried and types of firearms which may not be carried by the visiting individual. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/cornyn-offers-reciprocity-for-17-million-concealed-carry-permit-holders Since virtually no one in this state gets approved, his version won't help us.

Released on bond? Really??? “Williams was released on bond after being charged with shooting into an unoccupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, menacing, and reckless endangerment. He was the only person injured.”

Primarily mechanical engineers but also engineering support like draftsmen/CAD techs. Upcoming grads for this spring might work out too. Obviously I left out what this specific group does but if anybody fits the requirements above HMU and we can talk. I'm not personally doing the hiring but I can pass along resumes. I figured a community of FID holders might be a good place to look for someone who can pass a background check, lol

....." The guard shot Williams at least once, in the leg, and then helped treat his wounds. “I’m not here to kill anyone,” she said. “I saw one of the entry wounds was on his thigh which can sometimes be a somewhat dangerous place to bleed out. I keep a trauma kit and tourniquet on me as everyone who carries a gun should.” “Thankfully, he is still alive today,” she added. “One day he is going to have the opportunity to make better choices.” Bad, bad , bad choice and mindset... he's alive today, and stands to make the choice to retaliate and come after her in the future. She made a bad decision. Exactly. That's the point to pulling the gun, to stop the threat permanently.

She certainly did her job well. Way to go lady. But no first aid kit in my outing with a gun.I have no intention of shooting anyone. If I do I would want to be fatal.

I have a field grade I picked out at CMP''s North Store. Springfield receiver, VAR barrel, and mostly Beretta parts. It has a Danish Crown cartouche on the stock. It's my best shooting Garand. VAR barrels are known for their accuracy.

Did you read the original post? Among other things he was charged with "Possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose", "Unlawful Possession of an Assault Rifle", "Pointing a firearm in the direction of a person or property". This wasn't a happy suburban chap who followed the letter of the law his whole life with the exception of this one slip up. It's a thug who didn't legally possess or handle the weapon. It's like you're making a theoretical argument and ignoring the article. I think the opinions are based on the totality of the scenario, so in this case the tattoos are just the icing on the cake.

The boat that they are on from China has just left port. They take about 10 to 12 days to get to California, depending on weather/speed/weight and customs.

I'm a little astonished at the opinions surmised here, purely based on tattoo's, and beards. There are many police officers in the state of in NJ that have full sleeves. Our Presidents have had beards in the not so distant past. Would you have a different opinion of Law enforcement because of their tattoos and beards? There are quite a few cops in my gym with full sleeves, And beards...

I know some people who deal with Colt through their jobs and none of them have anything good to say about how the company is run or their quality control. One described the management of Colt as "a revolving door of idiots"

You realize that that doesn't matter, correct? They will pass it (if they can) and let the courts sort it out if the courts become so inclined. Whether or not the law is lawful is not their concern. Their concern is re-election. Nothing more.

I'm a Sig guy, so I went with a Sig 1911 TTT. Pretty sure that model is around $850-950, but sig makes plenty of other 1911 models. Some don't like them because of things like external extractors or - for some models - the Sig profile slide. I didn't care about the extractor, and I kinda prefer the slide profile... I've had no issues with my 1911 and would buy it (or the STX, the other model I was interested in) again if I were doing things over. Based on my experiences, I'd say Sig 1911s are worth a look.

I can’t believe it will be anything other than them bringing a name back without the fit/finish that is typical of the originals. May least it will help keep the original’s value high.

Victoria Secret Negligee A husband walks into Victoria's Secret to purchase a sheer negligee for his wife. He is shown several possibilities that range from $250 to $500 in price -- the sheerer, the higher the price. Naturally, he opts for the sheerest item, pays the $500, and takes it home. He presents it to his wife and asks her to go upstairs, put it on, and model it for him. Upstairs the wife thinks (she's no dummy), 'I have an idea. It's so sheer that it might as well be nothing. I won't put it on, but I'll do the modeling naked, return it tomorrow, and keep the $500 refund for myself.' She appears naked on the balcony and strikes a pose. The husband says, 'Good Grief! You'd think for $500, they'd at least iron it!' Funeral services for the husband will be next Monday at noon.

I'm a Springfield Armory kinda guy. I have an A1 that I added my touch to. 650 or there abouts. Great, no frills pistol. If time and money permit, send it to a 1911 wizard and they will send you back something that will rival the "Pro" from SA. Colt is always a good choice. It will sell more quickly than most other brands and maintain it's value better than most as well. If you comfortable with a non-traditional 1911, Smith and Wesson and Sig make great guns. But again, I'd look hard at the Springfield 1911-A1. Awesome gun and even better base if you ever want to have a semi-custom. FWIW, I have several justifiable reasons for saying this but won't bore you with them. But it is a really good shooting pistol.

I will say, I was not too impressed with the Cobra... although this was from playing with it at the booth, I did not have a chance to shoot it. For the King Cobra the price really needs to be around $1500 MSRP and a street price of $1100 to $1,200. You mean Rugers? =) That is what you buy when you want a gun that cannot be killed with a grenade.

Shooting them to make them stop or flea ; good. Shooting whilst fleeing; not good. Even if you have “ stand your ground laws”. But to your point, his possible ignorance of the new unconstitutional mag burden is the least of his worries.

My HH6 is not a gun person. She knows I have guns, she knows where I keep them , but she has no idea of their value. She knows when I buy new ones - mostly She just doesn’t keep track of them or the stuff I put on them - optics, lights, slings, etc... I have two friends that I trust very much. They are both colleagues, both gun guys, and both are people that I shoot with regularly. They both have a running list of what I have including types, descriptions, and serial numbers, along with the combos to all of my security measures. A third list is kept in the family document safe so HH6 has it too. Her copy also has a reminder to contact those guys ASAP to start handling everything. God forbid something ever happens to me, they have instructions to keep certain guns for my son, to pick one out for themselves, and to sell the rest for HH6 so she doesn’t have to worry about it. This process is also documented in my will. Most importantly, they are charged with teaching my son to shoot, to appreciate his 2nd amendment rights, and to be a good man. I have similar lists from them for the same reasons.

I tend to believe you dont understand the immediate need or urgency of using a gun. Not that Im an expert either. You shoot the gun out as the last resort. If your life or someone's else life is TRURLY in danger and there is no option but shooting to kill. This lady was lucky but things could have turned ugly and she easily could have been killed herself. What happens if you try to just stop somebody by injuring and accidentally you kill him ? " I just tried to stop him" doesn't work well in court. I admit at times just producing the weapon might stop someone in his track but shooting to hurt is no way to go for me. JMOHO
