A simple pressure test and soap bubbles on each fitting would confirm that its leaking or not. But yeah no gasspiping should ever be used without a pressure test performed. I'm very good at running gas pipe but every once and a while I find a leak. Once I even had a 90° with a leak because it was a bad casting. So even if your 100% sure with your joints there could be an issue with a fitting itself.

If you don’t know anything about the fireplace or how to hook it up call a professional. asking for advice here is like asking for medical advice about the pain in your stomach.

Go to us carbs site: http://www.uscarb.com/ Find your model generator and the kit for it. If you can't find it on their site, contact them. Very easy to install. They also run sales all the time

It must be hard to run with balls that big. He must not use Gilette razors Side note. I heard another report that he was "shopping" when the attack occurred. There was also an armed civilian that was helping escort people out. I'll try to find those pictures. ETA: Inaya Kassam.

I just happen to be at TTC this afternoon and they are having a contest. They put a playing card out at 40 yards and you get 8 shots to hit it. Well I’m LOVING my new CZ 75, I hit the card TWICE!!! I’m on to the next round of the contest, winner gets a TTC membership https://imgur.com/gallery/XxWFHZY

I instructed my wife on how to use both the portable generator, and the snowblower, should either be needed when I'm out of town. She instructed me that should either be needed when I'm out of town, she's going to a hotel.

I invested in a generator several years ago, prior to Sandy. Other than running it for PM purposes, I’ve never had to use it. I’d rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

True, and it sounds like in this case, it would be easy to do with soapy water. After all, we're talking about 5 psi of pressure. It's not a compressed air line. Good... the flames shouldn't be too big when it blows. (sorry, I couldn't help myself.) What's it have for an igniter? Battery/spark ignition? How about the gas control, manual valve? Does it have a 110 volt blower fan?

That's a good point, we're all assuming the existing pipe was installed and sealed correctly. If it was me, I would run new piping all the way to the fireplace myself, just so I know it was sealed correctly. We have no idea what's been done inside, including the connection to the fireplace. All we can see is the stub coming out of the outside wall.

Tear it out and put in a woodstove... screw gas.... also that will need an ignition system and a blower to get real heat out of it

That's the first thing to check. Make sure the fireplace has the right orifice for propane and not Nat. gas. My fireplace runs on both and has a change over valve depending on which gas. Yep, just be 100% sure that's a inlet pipe and not an outlet pipe. Might be 3/4", when comparing the size to the siding. Put a ball valve or inline shut-off on that pipe coming out. Then you'll need the connection hose, pressure regulator and adaptor to attach to the tank. Are there any specs on how much the fireplace uses? This will help determine how big of a tank to get. If it's just for emergency use, a standard 20 lb will get you going. If you're going to use it regularly, you should consider a bigger tank or a rental tank that gets refilled.

Quality control is suffering among all companies... that being said, I have Remington shotguns through the good and the “bad.” Older ones, never an issue. Just prior to it getting “bad,” my only issue was a polymer follower getting stuck in the cold... solution, all my Remington shotguns get stainless followers. I’ve heard plenty of bad about Remington. I listen to a lot of Ryan Cleckner’s podcasts, who used to work for them. Best one that he said was a rifle (don’t think it was a 700, but one of the budget models) that was sent out with no rifling. If that was one of those 16” 700s... would have technically been a SBS. That is a mass production issue, and I’m sure you can find a situation similar with any manufacturer... if you look hard enough. But I never refuted Remington bobbles over the years. Other than being very happy using my C&R, I thought I touched on the new R51 in another thread... which I also believe you posted in. I seriously don’t have any interest in Remington’s current handguns, but doesn’t mean I don’t have any experience with them. My father shoots his 1911 regularly (an earlier one... when they brought them back around 2010ish)... no issues. I bought my Ruger SR1911 a year or two after him... and no problems there, either (well, odd dovetails... which made replacement sights a little more expensive). I couldn’t get a “firearm” from an earlier era, as they didn’t make them back then. Bit the bullet... and my TAC-14 was good to go (still swapped the follower). Even if the gun didn’t run, they are going to ship it to the factory, get it running, and ship it straight back to me. To say that Remington guns don’t work is a big exaggeration... but you buy them over the Chinese clones for that warranty. I also don’t automatically take what is posted on the internet as gospel, being you’ll always hear the bad... doesn’t mean you’ll hear the good. That one TAC-14, been good to go... I can only attest to that and any new Remingtons friends/family have used (nothing blowing up my skirt, out of let’s say five guns; with how you make it out, four of them should be broken down... as well as mine). Likewise, your Shockwave may be awesome... but does that wave away the half dozen 500s I’ve seen that looked like they were made in a sweatshop? And the few of those I cycled gave me the feeling of Kel-Tec (not a jab directly at Kel-Tec, but it is a product made for those who aren’t looking to invest in more expensive firearms... and quality does reflect that). I also used to hunt with an 835 UltraMag... light gun, and could chamber 3.5” shells. But with those... it was a single shot. Would not eject them without me pulling them out of the receiver by hand. Tried two brands, no change... then said screw it and stuck with 3” and 11-87s. Does the 500 work? Yes, however I don’t view it with the same enthusiasm as you. Why did they win the military contract? They can produce a gun so cheap that Remington and others couldn’t compete. Is there anything wrong with that? Not at all, unless you plan on working the action over... which is why those companies build off 870s. 870s were used in the military for years... Mossberg winning by default doesn’t mean the 870 was dropped for any reason other than finances (how many other times has the dollar been the deciding factor). Nobody builds custom shotguns off Mossbergs for a reason... and usually the same reason some prefer 870s over 500s; ability to really work over the action. That is what happens when you put out an economic shotgun. Look at Ruger... uses a similar business model with some product lines. To get back to my original point; who is right or wrong? Neither. Are there faults with Remington? Yes... which is why my TAC-14, and likely the future TAC-13, are going to head down to Robar (my 870 Police finish held up ok... but was redone in NP3 Plus). Are their faults with Mossberg? Even if you don’t want to admit it... there most certainly are. You can feel however you want, but those who refuse to see the bad in their own brand really don’t have a leg to stand on. “I bought it, so it is the best!” Well, I got a pistol grip on my TAC-14 that, as you point out, is not optimal on a Shockwave. I like that setup... so you “winning” is a moot point to me. Sorry it took so long to reply, but really not digging the mobile site anymore on my iPhone. Got halfway through the second paragraph, and realized it was a run-on sentence. Will also add, there is slight comic relief in this post... Ray Ray, as always, no grief intended. Tried to do put emoji where I was kidding, but after this reply, said screw it.

I’d love to see a safety class taught in schools, the same way drivers ed is offered. Taking the class doesn’t mandate that you buy a car or gun, but at least you’d have a head start of knowing what to do if you find one in an emergency situation. Similarly, at least you’d know enough that if you happen upon one that you don’t do something that would create an emergency situation. JMHO.

I own several cz s .....and they’re good for what they are .....but unless I’m missing something cz doesn’t offer anything in the 365 category ..slightly less footprint than a 43 and 10 rounds/12 but slightly longer? If you’re talking p10s..way bigger than a 365

Holy cow, those guys are still in business? That was one of my favorite places to go when I was an electronics nerd. It used to be Radio Shack on steroids. There was a really great Army/Navy store almost across the highway from them too.

Nope. And I have have no interest in a CZ, not for any particular reason. What model would be similar?

I picked up a P365 yesterday. Will be shooting it tomorrow. I cannot believe how good this gun feels (prior to ever shooting). I may get rid of 4 other subcompact (including Glock 26). This gun is awesome.

I have a fridge in the basement. It's medium in size. The hog fills that freezer & a bit of my freezer in the fridge in the kitchen. I agree that you should get a stand-up model instead of a chest. Only serial killers & guys with hairy ape sized arms need a chest. Short fat F^&ks like me will FALL INTO a chest freezer leanin-over into it to get SH!T at the bottom FYI: THE HOG HUNT FOR THIS SUNDAY, JAN. 20TH, HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER & SNOW EMERGENCY! A NEW DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED. Rosey

She'd leave early. We're in a neighborhood that has had a couple of 8-9 day outages since we've lived here. Now I see her on hotels.com when the first flakes start to fall, and that's when I'm home.

Same here. When I moved to the new house, I installed a transfer switch at my panel, so it makes it easy to feed certain circuits. Actually never had to roll the Genny out since then, except to regularly test. I also bought a propane generator, so I don't need to worry about gas going bad or scrounging around to find it. This generator runs off of standard 20 lb propane tanks, and propane never goes bad and I don't need to worry about gummed up carbs from old gas. Plus, in a pinch, if I run out of tanks in a SHTF situation, just about every backyard in town has 20 lb tanks for their grills. Plenty to "pick up" during midnight runs.

So you prepared and bought firearms and magazines to stave off tyranny only to comply with tyrannical forces when tyranny infringes on your actual right? Why even buy guns and accessories in the first place if you're simply going to destroy the very items that help defend against over reach... I just don't get it. Maybe it's just me..

who's piling on? I think most people here are just trying to understand the reasoning for destroying perfectly good magazines instead of modifying, selling, or sending to a friend. By destroying these magazines we play to what the dems want.
