3 pointsHe could also have LGS’s call directly to the federal line bypassing the state police and saving money as well... There’s that option as well. Or did I miss something?

3 pointsSteel core bullets can be a problem for the backstop. Steel/aluminum cases are a problem for selling the scrap brass. One I can understand; the other is greed.

2 pointsThat's a well-reasoned answer, @GRIZ. Yes, human nature being what it is, I can see that NOT giving info could raise curiosity. But, your whole post has now got me thinking they shouldn't verify employment at all. If an unemployed or self-employed person can exercise this constitutional right without the employment verification, why should someone else who's employed by any company be subjected to what is - arguably - a higher level of scrutiny? They ought to toss it out entirely. And I agree, I think the personal references are a joke, too. Criminal and mental should be the focus. The employment verification probably causes more harm than good in a state such as this one.

2 pointsHow are the courts working out for us so far? Are you liking having your 30 round mags back? Oh, wait... These new laws need to be snuffed out LONG before they even get voted on and signed into law. Once signed, nothing gets repealed.

2 pointsMy understanding of the story of Range 129 is that the idea of building and opening this facility was a result of an MBA project by the son. The father provided the financing for the project. Neither of them were 'gun guys' and the unsafe practice of examining firearms (to see if they are loaded) in a non-firing area of the building are the result of a lack of firearm knowledge and established safe practices. If anyone can contradict that narrative, please do so.

1 pointHis plan is diabolical. He's not attacking guns, its all the peripheral things related. Mags, P2P, ammo, bear hunt and now fees. He's making it non-affordable and majorly a hassle for new gun owners to come on board. These suits going one at a time to the SCOTUS either would drive everyone broke or just not get heard. All this needs to go as "not to be infringed". All this is an infringement without a doubt. I really wish it would be gone after once and for all.

1 pointNo doubt it is a sticky situation and hence why IF the company is going to know that there will be a verification of employment, the person should give HR a heads up. It should be up to the employee to let the HR or bosses know that they are applying for firearms permits or what not. But this is also why I would list a contact of a direct manager rather than purely HR. Bosses are in a much less "gatekeeper" mode than HR. For instance, when I worked at UBS... if you called corporate HR, you would get run around, etc... But... if you called my manager or any other boss in the office, would be... "Hey, does this person work here?" "Yes", end of story. But this is why I am all for the person taking the initiative when it comes to getting permits. No doubt the person doing the check has a tough and delicate job and I don't think anyone is denying that. But I also know if you want results and want to avoid bureaucracy, go straight to decision maker. lol. Or simply saying... "Hello, this is Detective XXXX from WWWW PD. Calling to verify that XXXX is an employee." What you are applying for should not matter but again though, if HR has an issue with it, it should be with them and the employee. Or simply "XXX is applying for some permits." They are not going to ask permits for what. But they are supposed to verify "Self employed" and they can if they want to. It would be difficult for them to and I highly doubt they even want to go down that rabbit hole.

1 pointIf noting else it will wake the Fudds up. They sat around on their lame asses for decades saying "gee, I only hunt wabbits with my shotgun, none of this concerns me" Well, guess what, now it concerns everyone!

1 pointWell, I had a wonderful time today. Spoke with one of the range officers and asked about steel case ammo. Steel case is perfectly fine, just not steel core.

1 pointCourts take time... and I think the carry case MAY see its light of day in Supreme Court in the near future. Charging $300 is absolutely nuts though and IS a burden and would quickly be struck down as soon as it went to a court with a brain. Yes, it would be here in effect for some time, but would eventually be struck down.

1 pointThe fees are set by statute - in this case 2C:58-3,f, which means that new legislation would have to be passed first - not that that's a difficult thing to do given the Democratic majority in the legislature - but it will at least slow him down and prevent him from raising the fees by executive fiat. Adios, Pizza Bob

1 pointThe employer question is the single thing that holds me back from applying for additional permits, which is probably exactly what it is designed for. I work in NYC in higher education and it’s hard to find a more liberal environment. I’ve applied for permits twice and both times my job was contacted. Each time I was as asked questions by HR and they were generally very awkward conversations. I don’t want to go through it again, as I like my job and don’t want to cause unnecessary problems. My wife also works in higher education and she hasn’t gotten her FID yet since she doesn’t want her institution to know. It’s not right and the question shouldn’t be on there. It’s NONE of my employer’s business what I do in my spare time, particularly when it’s a constitutional right.

1 pointThank you. The stock colors are not what I had envisioned. I have grown to love the stock but it's not quite what I wanted. Screens are all calibrated differently. Additionally the colors are hand laid into the mold prior to the mold being closed. It's not paint. The colors are under the gel coat. And, McMillan states explicitly on their site that being unhappy with the molded in colors is NOT a viable reason for a return/refund.

1 pointI think we can afford to lose his seat as a payback for his repeated betrayal. It’s worth contacting his office and telling him so. Don’t vote for this guy. We deserve better representation.

1 pointSteel cases sparks more? Never heard of that? What does that mean exactly? Good Lord....it's almost 11p, and now I have a hankerin' to cook up a pound of bacon, and gobble it up!

1 pointThe “basic” model X “suv” is about $90,000. They are way too expensive. Interesting looking vehicle. Cool “over your head” windshield. Self opening doors. Coll gull wing rear passenger doors. There is that cool huge center display. My opinion is all those doo-dads are the bling they stuff in to justify the grossly over priced product. But there really isn’t much to cut out. Price one. 36 month 10k mile lease. $10,000 down. $1,140 / month. For the model 3.... its essentially a stripped down Toyota Corolla that costs 100% more than a loaded Toyota. Buying one of these is just a bad financial decision.

1 pointBaltimore City (and County, for that matter) is a lost cause. The HBO series "The Wire" was/is a true representation of the city. Drugs, guns and corruption prevail. So now the pols want to legalize the drugs, criminalize and confiscate the guns, and expand the corruption that lines all their pockets. F*ck the pols all over, not just in MD and NJ. Where's Robespierre when you need him??

1 pointAh, disregard. By "truck gun" I thought that you meant it would be there 24/7. Awesome little gun.

1 pointThe only problem I see is that people break into vehicles to steel power tools all the time. May want to disguise it in another type of box.

1 pointLittle update: I’m going to run my current barreled action. Unfortunately this means I won’t have a loaner rifle for folks to borrow unless I can get my action tried/barreled in time. It’s not looking good. Work/family/cold weather are all slowing me down. Plus my machine was down, again. I just got it back on line a week ago. Stock came in. I love it. I also realize it’s as far from “tacti-cool” as one can get. That makes me love it all the more. I got the pillars cut and the Devcon is curing as I type this. I will not bed it as I’ll be putting a different action in at some point. Thanks for following along.
