@Ray Ray here is some 308 love.. Im with ya buddy. @Zeke 308 hitting steel out to 1500+ 6.5 may be ballistically superior but old faithful gets the job done.....with a 20" barrel no less

My wife isn't a fan either of the firearms or the ammo, or the sport in general. But she realizes that its not fair to push her wishes/beliefs on others. She refuses to go to the range with me (that could be a good thing). When something new follows me home, she just looks the other way. When the UPS/Fedex guy shows up with a box, and it looks like he's getting a hernia, she just shakes her head (and goes to off to Kohl's). So, we have an informal agreement. I don't count the number of shoes, outfits and purses in her closet, and she doesn't count the number of firearms or cases of ammo in my possession. See how easy it is to "compromise"? You should try that.

Mrs. 45Doll says: "Time to take your wife to the range." There was significantly more that followed, but I'll leave it at her constructive suggestion.

Put a padlock on your fire extinguisher and show her the key in the upstairs bedroom. Maybe that will wake her up.

It doesn't matter if it's a flash hider or not, since it's not a semi automatic rifle with a detachable magazine the 2 feature clause is irrelevant. That being said, it's not a flash hider anyways. It's a spigot type rifle grenade discharger.

I can work around the fender wells, I did when I built the last one. It's actually better with the lower deck, since there's a maximum overall height I have to stay under. A deckover takes up more of that space.

Lol! True. Lightsabers, faster than light travel, The Force - all ok. Totally believable. But the line is drawn at questionable military strategy.

You read the title correctly, looks like Brownells is going full bore with their offerings. A semi-auto version of the BRN-134, in 7.62x51, with a 3,000 round ammo box. And for ONLY $125,000. I might have to sell my Lamborghini to get this. So how many of you think this would be NJ legal, without the 3,000 round "mag" of course?

https://www.pcgamesn.com/assassins-creed-unity/notre-dame Ubisoft has announced that it’s donating €500,000 ($564,000, £433,000) “to help with the restoration and reconstruction” of the Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was severely damaged in a fire that saw the building’s spire, and roof destroyed, as well as much of its original woodwork. In a press release issued earlier today, Ubisoft also announced that “we want to give everyone the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of Notre-Dame the best way we know how.” To that end, the company is giving away Assassin’s Creed Unity – which is set in Paris and features a highly-detailed digital version of the Cathedral – for free. The deal is limited to PC, and you’ll be able to download the game via Uplay or the Assassin’s Creed website for a limited time – Ubisoft’s press release says it’ll be available for one week, meaning you’ll have access to it from 16:00 today until 09:00 on Thursday, April 25 (depending on your local time).

Kind of like having a safety vest on a boat with no air in it. Maybe a compromise could be keeping ammo in a locked (padlock) ammo can and the pistol in a locked gun safe? Most people are setup that way to begin with.

I’m rather puzzled by the total lack of character development in Rey. I’m mean, she’s a ‘force sensitive’ (like Luke was in ep IV), but unlike Luke, never receives any Jedi training. All of a sudden, she’s holding her own, and wounding, a highly trained Jedi (Ren) with a lightsaber. She pilots the crap out of the Falcon, flys against several, more maneuverable Tie fighters and out flys them. The first time she’s behind the helm of the ship. She fixes the hyperdrive (which presumably could be as easy as un-clogging a garbage disposal, for all we know). In IIX, she still receives very little Jedi training, then goes toe to toe with the Imperial Guard with a lightsaber. Granted, she had more training here than she did in VII, but still.... At the end of the day, it’s still fucking Star Wars.

One vote for RPR in 6.5, what glass you put on it is key. RPR capable of many after-market mods. Get the longest barrel you can if your goal is long range hits

The one thing I like about the RPR is the ease with which you can swap barrels. I dont know about the other budget minded systems but I do know there are really good barrels made for the RPR that you can swap yourself.

Even a turd can't ruin this thread....some gold right here. A teacher asked her class how many of them were Bernie Sanders fans. Not really knowing what a Bernie Sanders fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny. The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different...again. Little Johnny said, 'Because I'm not a Bernie Sanders fan.' The teacher asked, 'Why aren't you a Bernie Sanders fan?' Johnny said, 'Because I'm a Conservative.' The teacher asked him why he's a Conservative. Little Johnny answered, 'Well, my Mom's a Conservative and my Dad's a Conservative, so I'm a Conservative.' Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, 'If your Mom was a Moron and your Dad was an idiot, what would that make you?' Little Johnny replied, 'A Bernie Sanders fan.'

Jewels of Wisdom from Court Finding California Magazine Ban Unconstitutional Ammoland Inc. Posted on April 15, 2019 by Dean Weingarten U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- On 29 March, 2019, Judge Roger T. Benitez granted a motion for summary judgement against California Attorney General Xavier Becerra in the case of Duncan v. Becerra. California's Byzantine regulations and bans on firearms magazines of over 10 round capacity were ruled unconstitutional under the Second and Fourteenth Amendments of the United States Constitution. I have read the decision by Judge Benitez. It is well worth reading. At 86 pages, many will not take the time and energy to read the densely argued document. Below, I have transcribed my choice of the jewels of this masterfully reasoned and written order. The selections are my own; others may disagree. They are in order, as found in the court document. I list the pages as an aid to others. Many will recognize the cogent arguments put forward by the Honorable Roger T. Benitez. They have been made by Second Amendment supporters for decades. Judge Benitez first shows how the California magazine ban fails the simple and obvious test of constitutionality under the Heller decision. Next, Judge Benitez shows how, even under the Ninth Circuit's convoluted “Tripartite Binary Test with a Sliding Scale and Reasonable Fit” the California ban still fails miserably. Near the end of the document, Judge Benitez eviserates the attempt by the State of California to define ordinary magazines as “a nuisance”. The conclusion of the order is exceedingly well done. I have not cut or edited it. It is on page 84-85 of the court document. Judge Benitez has done the Republic a valuable service. He has shown himself highly capable, and more importantly, seriously committed to the rule of law. The Nation, and no doubt, President Trump, are taking notice. https://www.ammoland.com/2019/04/jewels-of-wisdom-from-court-finding-california-magazine-ban-unconstitutional

Like many of you I am shocked and saddened this evening by the news and images of the disastrous fire that has engulfed the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. It is a devastating loss, (hopefully just a bad wound....), not just to Parisians, and not just to Catholics, but to all Christians around the world who appreciate the enduring symbolism of these magnificent Cathedrals, that are cultural treasures, that have survived revolutions and world wars over many centuries. Also mourning is anyone who appreciates French Gothic Architecture and the incredible effort it took to design and build Notre-Dame almost 900 years ago, as well as renovate it in the 19th Century. As you can see from @PeteF's amazing photos of the heavy wood timber structure that supported the main roof of the Cathedral over the nave and transept and the central spire's structure, it would make sense that once a fire begins and its rapidly rising heat is trapped inside under the roof, that a super heated ignition point could be reached very quickly. Usually, heavy timber burns very slowly, but due to its old age and presumed extreme dryness, it probably ignited and burned much more quickly. Since there was a renovation project underway at the Cathedral's roof, all enclosed with scaffolding, I will venture a wild guess that the fire started from some most unfortunate construction related accident. We will know in coming days the real extent of the damage to the rest of the Cathedral, but I can imagine that there will be extensive damage due to a combination of variables of heat and smoke from the fire, in addition to the water pumped onto the roof to douse the fire, soaking many other areas. I believe that the French will undoubtedly commit to rebuilding the destroyed parts of the Cathedral. They really must, since it is such an important national architectural landmark, transcending its original religious purpose and beloved by the French for its recognizable symbolism, just below the level of the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Since it is France, I would not be surprised that once the cathedral is ultimately restored where possible and reconstructed, using taxpayer money, that there may be calls for it to no longer serve just as a Catholic church and that it should become a more ecumenical or non-denominational religious building open to all religions.....or even be turned into a museum, like the Turks did with Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. Who knows....? BTW, the company I have been associated with did the 2014-2015 renovation of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City and as part of that renovation, working closely with the FDNY, the project team and all trade contractors working inside and outside the Cathedral adhered to very strict fire prevention precautions. As part of the renovation a sprinkler system was installed in certain parts of the structure and building code required fire-resistant materials were installed wherever possible, including the roof. Here is a link to more information on that project: https://saintpatrickscathedral.org/restore-st-patricks-cathedral AVB-AMG

Specific vendors did not start charging sales tax because someone posted something on a public forum. Anyone who believes that is the reason ... they are misinformed. Read the tax law and understand what your referring to before making false statements such as that. It's really quite simple... there are thresholds to meet in the number of transactions to this state and/or the amount of sales being done in this state. Breach those thresholds and they must collect NJ state sales tax. Saying some business started collecting sales tax because someone talked about it in a forum is a moronic statement. Economic Threshold Consistent with Wayfair, legislation was enacted that requires certain remote sellers to collect and remit New Jersey Sales Tax. For sales made on and after November 1, 2018, a remote seller that makes a retail sale of tangible personal property, specified digital products, or services delivered into New Jersey must register, collect, and remit New Jersey Sales Tax if the remote seller meets either of the following criteria (the economic threshold): The remote seller's gross revenue from sales of tangible personal property, specified digital products, or services delivered into New Jersey during the current or prior calendar year, exceeds $100,000; or The remote seller sold tangible personal property, specified digital products, or services delivered into New Jersey in 200 or more separate transactions during the current or prior calendar year. A remote seller that does not meet either of these criteria does not have to register with the Division of Taxation to collect and remit New Jersey Sales Tax.

they originally charged me $65 times FOUR! the cashier rang up $294 (w/tax)! ....until I lost my sh*t, then settled around $130. Now I understand why their range is always dead on nights & weekends! Sad part is, Im literally 5min away and will never drop a dime there! THIS is why I prefer to only deal with one or two FFLs. too many assholes around me in north NJ. even tho I drive 90 mins to GSSC in Brick, he's has been the BEST in the business, and worth the 3 hrs trip! =Never been treated like a 2nd class citizen, especially as a newbie!

Assuming the business doesn't have some sort of presence in the state, which if they did they would automatically be required to collect sales tax... but for companies like brownells... it depends on how much total sales has been done with the state in the previous quarters.. so yes some merchants you may still be able to buy things online and not pay sales tax. This is why it may seem to be inconsistent to you. This went into effect as of November 1st 2018. "New Jersey’s new law will require online retailers and marketplaces like eBay to begin collecting sales taxes and turning the revenue over to the state if they have gross revenues over $100,000 a year in New Jersey, or if their in-state sales volume exceeds more than 200 transactions annually."

Ok so lets pretend we dont have FID cards, they dont exist.... if an online dealer just required ID to prove age, because after all there is a federal age requirement to purchase ammo.... so then your ok with giving them a copy of your DL or passport, but our FID card, you refuse to show that? Then what? You would refuse to buy ammo online all together? I doubt that. im with regular guy on this. If a vendor actively works against our rights like Dicks.. then f-them ... I get that .. but because an online dealer wants to make sure they follow all state and federal laws so they dont get sued and shutdown, you have a problem with that? Its not their fault our state sucks the big donkey D. Let's be grateful they dont just write us all off completely and refuse to sell/ship anything to NJ. That can happen just as easily if they decided they dont want to deal with the hassle.
