Wow. 1.4 million Federal acres opening up to hunters and anglers! That's a lot. And it's being coupled with the elimination of 7500 regulations that create a quagmire for the same groups. Interesting... so while the Fed is opening up Federal land for hunters, NJ is shrinking access for hunters on state lands. Another reason to hate NJ? LOL. Anyway, here's the link: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/git-r-done-trump-opens-1-4-million-federal-acres-to-hunters-anglers

Just unpinned a bunch of stocks. Moving out of NJ was the greatest decision ever! Sorry dudes.

Are suppressors commonly owned for a defensive purpose? I don't think so. Under the Heller standard there is plenty of room to say they aren't arms subject to 2A protection. We all need to understand that the "what don't you understand about 'shall not be infringed'" line of argument -- ie that any and all laws that impact gun ownership by definition violate the 2A -- is not and probably never will be the law of the land. The Supreme Court focuses on the big picture, and even the most 2A friendly court imaginable is not going to jump in and strike down every law that impedes our 2A wish-list. I would not expect the Court to take a case on suppressors. Or on bump stocks. I think magazine bans are probably different as they are an integral part of the firearm and extreme bans on types of magazines can effectively amount to a ban on the firearm itself. That isn't the case with suppressors.

Nice! Those things are beasts alright. I'm waiting for the full size Bronco to be introduced before I plot my way forward with replacing my '03 Rubicon. I will have a hard time letting it go after 16 years and with only 177K miles on it. The Raptor is on my short list.

If you’re going to single stage jut get a cheap rock chucker setup. I’ve been using the same one for 30 years for my single stage needs. It’s as good as the day it was new. If you want to go progressive then I’m going to say join the blue master race and get a Dillon.

Good, but I've had better. I think I cooked them too long. Meat fell off the bone, but was dried out some. Next batch will be better. Hardly any cleanup

This! @Zeke you can run it as a single stage or turret. I'm happy with mine

Have you considered the lee classic turret? Can it handle 6.5 creedmore? PM me if that interests you. I have a set up I might get rid of.

Dude... those shoulder things scare the BEJEEZUS out of me!! All joking aside though... what his brother did must have been incredibly difficult... despite it being an obviously correct moral choice. I give that guy a LOT of credit. Who knows what death and agony was avoided because of his decision to report?

No interstate commerce? Was the metal mined, refined, and formed into tubing all in Kansas? Was the tap used to cut the threads made in Kansas? These 2A Protection Acts passed in several states and counties are pretty much worthless until a decision by SCOTUS. Read the rest of the COTUS. Federal law trumps any state law. The Federal government is not subject to any state or local jurisdiction. They got probation because that's what the Federal Sentencing Guidelines say that's what they could get. Most likely it was the minimum. Sentencing is actually figured out by US Probation and Parole. I've never seen a judge that went against their recommendation. They still are convicted felons.

Today is a day to honor all the wonderful dads out there... the many unsung everyday heroes who do their best to shape their kids into responsible adults. So, if you're a dad yourself... continued best wishes on that amazing, challenging, rewarding journey! If your own dad is still with us, make sure to reach out to him today. And if, sadly, your dad has passed, lift a glass and quietly toast him today. I'm sure he'll hear you... and smile. This is the wrong case to take to SCOTUS to get silencers off the the NFA. Cox is making silencers in the back of his government surplus store and tells Kettler that a silencer made in Kansas is not subject to NFA. Kettler's defense is his hearing was damaged in the military and that's why he needs one. These go down as some of the most stupid defenses I've ever heard. No wonder SCOTUS doesn't want to waste it's time with this case.

Why can't the PD make copies, like dealers have to make copies of the 4473 when the government runs out?

this thread has long since passed its prime time.. with that said I had to laugh a bit at some of this.. FA - "the gun is designed for home defense" some people "but it sucks at 50 yards" where the hell do you guys live? in like an abandoned car factory? a football stadium? a HD gun.. a gun that is exclusively home defense.. that thing is likely never going to see 50 yards.. and would certainly never see 100.. if that gun sees 100 yards.. you are going to see prison.. because in NJ its going to be really tough to justify a 50 yard shoot.. my go to HD gun has always been an AR.. in NJ it was a 14in AR pinned to 16.. now its a 7.5in AR SBR.. if I still lived in NJ.. I would likely own it.. I don't like the performance at range.. but in a home... its really hard to beat the ergonomics of a small AR platform gun.. and this gun.. even with being completely whacky.. would likely have no problem getting it done in the confines of your home..

If you want to learn, as @carl_g suggested, start with pistol... you are likely going to get into less trouble and generally far more straight forward. You are generally not trimming brass, cleaning primer pockets and very seldom if ever dealing with stuck cases in dies. At the same time, you are also not forced to lube every one of them. The problem is, reloading common ammo like 9mm today, really is not going to save you much when you factor in time, unless it is for oddball calibers that you are going to have issues finding in store, say 9mm Makarov, 38 Super Comp, 8mm Nambu, 45 GAP. With Rifle you will absolutely save for match grade ammo. For instance, two calibers I am working with now, 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC... Factory Ammo - $40 per box (IF you can find in stock). Brass - From previously fired ammo. Bullets - 147 Grain Hornady ELD - $.30 Powder - 60 grains of powder, H1000 $.23 Primers $30/1,000, so $.03 All in materials you are $.56 vs $2 per round. You do have to factor in your time, hazmat fees if getting stuff delivered, etc. You also have to factor in whether you are going to be shooting more or the same. For instance, went out to the range to merely do some load development for the guns, 308... that was 100 rounds, 5 boxes of ammo... versus would ordinarily shoot half of that? Hopefully that answers the why it's cheaper per round but more expensive in general. Then you have the issue of chasing performance. When you start going into the brand new brass, $1 per piece, solid copper bullets with a high bc $1 per round, then powder and primers... you are paying more than regular match grade ammo. This does not include more expensive goodies such as electronic powder dispenser $300, case prep stations, match grade dies, precision scales, etc.... and oh yes, lots and lots of lube... (For the brass, not the other place). So when you get to shooting and you feel like your ammo is holding you back, then reload. It is well worth it and educational and will make you a much more knowledgeable gun owner... BUT don't kid yourself, you will be spending more money net net as you will be shooting more and most stuff just won't be good enough for you anymore. Cause after the precision ammo, you will want precision guns, $3,000 optics, $300 bipods, etc. And oh yeah, you need a chrono... for real. I use the Competition Electronics Pro Chrono Pal, just dropped to $86 on Amazon and well worth it. https://amzn.to/2JTkd9p

That's pretty close to $1 a round. Thank you for making my point.
