Hi Rosey, yes, that is my grandson Cameron. It was a great event. Cam really enjoyed the experience as well as all the stuff in the gift bag. In fact, he wore the camo cap he got all day today. My son and his wife had to work so could not attend. However, we are all so proud of him. I cannot thank all of you enough for all the hard work it took to make this opportunity available. So a big thank you to CNJFO, UHGC, ROC Training, Legend Firearms, all the volunteers, and all the corporate sponsors (Keystone/Cricket, GunForHire, Henry, Tandemkross, .....). There is no doubt in my mind that this experience will be a lasting positive memory for all these kids. Best regards, Art

Some KAC goodness. SR25 EMC. This is a one of one. This isnt one of the service turn ins. It is allegedly the ONLY EMC to leave the factory as a new rifle in this color(that didnt go to the military). Running a USO 1-8 in a custom mount. It is an amazing rifle. If the apocalypse descended upon us and I could only grab 1 rifle, this would be it!

What's done is done. Buy one now and enjoy it... Good part at least everything can be converted into a rifle if it goes south.

All, I'm not much of a CZ fan. Nice guns, I've had several and still have a Jericho 941 / Baby Eagle, which is built on the CZ platform. This one, however, made me do a double-take when I saw it. I've always been partial to shiny things. This one screamed "take me home!", so I did. Advertised as a Stainless Glossy finish as opposed to the Matte Stainless I guess.

Yea I really hope people here aren’t emailing the AG or NJSP all the time about this. Figure maybe a handful (relative to the gun owner population in NJ) actually know this “loophole” exists. Just buy or build your firearm and go about your business. The more attention that gets drawn to this, the quicker someone will act to close it.

I think the real question is: Why did this sight trigger you so badly? If I saw an African-American man in a high-crime, really poor neighborhood driving by in a big flashy Cadillac - wouldn't I be one terrible, god-awful bigot for thinking: He must be a pimp... or a drug dealer... or just really irresponsible with his money(?) Yeah, I personally think it would be incredibly crummy to buy into cheap stereotypes and presume that I know anything about the guy. Because he could also be a doctor who operates a local, low-cost clinic and he makes house calls to elderly shut-in's... and maybe he just really likes the smooth suspension of a Caddy when he's on his way to his patients! For the same reason... I'm wondering, just because you see some young guys in pick-up trucks displaying giant American flags, why would you ever jump to the conclusion that they're "unaccomplished, mentally challenged hicks"?? Really?! For all you know, AVB, those guys have lost older siblings in the Middle East... or maybe they'll be enlisting themselves! That could be a heartfelt, genuine show of patriotism... just done in a more flamboyant way then you're used to. We're all better off when we don't presume what's in someone's heart or head!

Correct. A Pistol or SBF does not have a stock, so there is no LOP associated with it.

Austria has an Autobahn too. Some time in 1945/46, my dad was stationed in Austria as part of the post war EOF. I wanna say it was Salzburg but can't be 100% certain. One morning he was approached by a colonel who asked him if he would drive to Italy to pick up last minute "supplies" for some sort of diplomatic banquet being held that evening. The reason my dad was singled out for this very important mission was his fluency in Italian. My dad was reluctant because the trip was hundreds miles each way and felt there was no way he could reasonably complete the round trip in time for the banquet. Colonel party planner took my dad to a parking lot full of confiscated vehicles where he was permitted to appropriate any one he wished for the mission. It turns out, war criminals and collaborators owned some pretty fancy sports cars. Well, being Italian, pop naturally gravitated towards a Maserati, just sitting there waiting to be liberated. He was given some travel passes and fuel vouchers and sent on his way. The way dad told the story, it took him a while to get up the nerve to put the peddle to floor. Eventually he was on some straightaways where he reached a cruising speed of 120mph, with the engine still offering more to give. When he crossed over into Italy (where there is no Autobahn, and has speed limits) he was already accustomed to the freedom of the Autobahn and mostly ignored the Italian speed limits. He was on an important mission. At some point the polizia saw him coming, and gave chase. They gave up after a couple miles. So, dad reaches his destination for the pick up. His freight was several cases of wine and one case of grappa (Italian brandy), yanno, "essential banquet supplies". The return trip was less eventful and not as much fun because the novelty faded and driving that fast for a long time wears down a driver. Apparently, the one hitch in the gray mission was that, somehow, a bottle of grappa was lost because it was carelessly dropped when loading up the car. At least that's what dad told the colonel.

Folks really need to stop referring to this as a "loophole". That is just an invitation for the decision to be scrutinized and overturned.

Much like with the M1 Carbine, I doubt many if any people here will be contacting NJSP. The people who will will be... 1. People who go into the gun store, see these guns on display and won't believe the FFL and will call. 2. Other FFLs. 3. People at the range who see someone shooting one of these.

No they don’t. Whatever happened to that Elizabeth judge who left 3 pistols in his car over night only to have his car broken into and his firearms stolen. Do the transportation laws not apply to him? Was his stop reasonable? Were his guns locked in the trunk? Of course not. So when we say the police are told to do their job, yeah that means it’s to poop on the commoner. Nothing ever happened to that judge proving further that the laws of NJ do not apply to law enforcement and anyone in the political or judicial arena. Anyway. I’ll be buying an MM in the coming weeks. Lol

Well now in the category of "Are you fucking kidding" https://www.foxnews.com/politics/gorsuch-sides-with-liberals-in-shooting-down-tougher-sentences-for-gun-crimes Its unconstitutional to increase penalties for using a gun in a crime, but its perfectly alright to increase penalties for NOT commiting a crime.

Seriously, they’ll probably send the NJSP an email asking if it’s ok to rob the bank. When told “No” they’ll send a follow up email asking “But what if I just take the amount that I currently have in savings. It’s not really stealing you see. I have that much money there already, I should be allowed to take it out if I want.”

This is bananas. A couple people in this thread know what they are talking about. Almost everyone else is trying to find loopholes in the loopholes based on conjecture, opinion, and personal wishes. BLUF: There are a couple of guiding documents from NJSP and ATF that are posted here in this very thread. They spell out how this whole thing works in our state and define what is, and is not, acceptable when dealing with this “Firearm”. It doesn’t matter if you agree with the guidance handed down from on high. It doesn’t matter what conclusion you reached “logically”. Currently, all that matters is these documents tell you what you can do to stay within the currently accepted guidelines of a specifically configured gun to be considered a “Firearm” and not a SBR, pistol, or AOW while remaining legal in the state of N.J. This is why we can’t have nice things. Also, remind me to never rob a bank with some of you guys.

#60 USPSA GRAND MASTER EMILY CUTTS, 15, OF TEAM TANDEM KROSS, INSTRUCTS YOUNGIN'S FOR CNJFO YOUTH SHOOT AT UNION HILL GUN CLUB SUNDAY JUNE 23RD. I'm working on a story & Photo lay-out that will probably be ready to post tomorrow but in the meantime I'd figured you all would enjoy a 15 year old instructing a 9 year old. Emily Cutts is a great example of this next generation standing-up! I understand this kid's grandpop is a member here. I didn't write-down his "handle" so I can't tag him correctly. I'll try a reverse-tag on Facebook

Oh my freaking gawd. The lack of reading comprehension in this thread is astonishing, even for this place. Let me try to simplify before PK90 has a stroke. Federal law defines a pistol as being designed to be fired by one hand, with a maximum overall length of 26 inches. Therefore, legally speaking, any gun over 26" cannot be a pistol. It is a rifle, shotgun, or firearm. I know a lot of people run around calling their 12" barreled AR's pistols, but those people are wrong, and should be corrected. The presence of a vertical grip, or lack of, has absolutely zero to do with pistol or firearm designation. A pistol with a vertical grip is an AOW (edited for cupcake) . Over 26" is not a pistol, so that rule doesn't apply. Anyone who still doesn't get it, you're hopeless. Just be quiet before you kill PK90.

Jason - you are looking for hardware solutions to a software problem. Buy a reliable gun chambered in a duty caliber that feels comfortable in your hands. Then buy a shit-ton of ammo and learn how to shoot under the watchful eye of a reputable instructor. Then buy more ammo and practice what you learned in training. Rinse and repeat. There are no hardware shortcuts. An optic will not make you a better shooter or speed up how fast you become proficient with your chosen tool. You need to develop your software - your mind - through repetitive and often demoralizing training. You have to learn what you don’t know that you don’t know. Newsflash - guns are loud. They recoil. They spit fire. The only way to overcome This is to inoculate yourself to it through familiarization. Every members here shoots. All of our guns recoil and are loud and have muzzle flash. We all overcame it and you will too. And anyway - Honestly, the noise and the fire and the recoil is what makes it fun....

Hello and welcome. If you post where, approximately, you are located you may get some offers to shoot some members pistols. Pay for a box of ammo and blast away. If you are in or near Bergen Cty, I will make that offer. I have a Glock 19 (it's been modded but will give you a feel for what they're like) and a CZ P-01. Both are similarly sized compact 9mm handguns, semi auto. I also have a 1911 in 9mm you can try as well. I have zero issues meeting you at BulleHole or somewhere similar and letting you run some rounds thru them. That said... I'd take a serious look at the CZ. I'm biased.

I put out the American flag on our house on specific holidays, including President's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Memorial Day. I do not feel the need to fly it on our house all the time, but do not have a problem with others who decide to do so. I consider myself to be a patriotic American, recognizing that through the accident of birth, I am an American citizen who also appreciates our country’s history, why it was founded and respect and cherish how important our Constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms are. I believe that too many Americans take our freedoms for granted. They fail to appreciate and honor those Americans who have fought in wars and have either been wounded or have paid the supreme sacrifice with their lives to ensure that we maintain those freedoms. I believe that our flag is an important symbol of that understanding and pride of the actions our citizens have taken to defend the ideals they and we feel is important enough to die for. Pride essentially comes from an accumulated knowledge of one’s history. One can be proud of yourself and your actions and achievement, as well as those of someone close to you. But for anyone to say they are proud to be an American or proud to be a descendant of any specific culture is pretty lame. You can be thankful, grateful, relieved to be an American, but pride does not really extend to one’s country. There's patriotism and there's dogmatic patriotism. Some people are smart enough to know the difference. This is a lead up to the following: I am currently down in NC at our beach house this week and yes, we are just a short time away from our Independence Day national holiday. For the past number of years, I seem to have seen quite a number of young white men driving pickup trucks with one or more large flags mounted in the truck bed on short poles. Half of these pickup trucks are the really large ones that are lifted up monsters with huge wheels and tires. I really do not understand the reasoning, let alone the appeal of going to such lengths to fly our flag that way and it got me thinking. I am certainly open to the idea of everyone being able to voice their opinion, (free speech). Yet, I have just assumed that this sort of pick-up-truck-flag-waving, is just self-perceived people going to an extreme to shout out and portray themselves as being very "patriotic". But it also risks coming across as people being very holier-than-thou and pretentious about it. Their message always seems to scream to me "We are more patriotic than all the rest of you." It's a form of virtue signaling. Not so different than putting a political slogan bumper sticker on your car. It's just bigger and "bad ass" and certainly very tacky. I also think that in today’s ever more polarized political environment that these pick-up-truck-flag-wavers say that they are being patriotic, but really are promoting their tribal sense of nationalism. True patriotism is demonstrated by one’s actions, such as buying domestically-produced goods and products, paying all of your taxes, or *honest* public service, and serving one’s country, and not by a ridiculous mobile rodeo show. When you don’t know any better, you mistake tacky-ness with patriotism. BTW, this phenomenon is not limited to the U.S. but can be seen in other countries as well. I guess it is human nature that people feel the need to belong to something grander than themselves. For some of these folks, such as unaccomplished, mentally challenged hicks, other than being born here in the USA, they really don’t have much going for themselves. They may try to compensate for their lack of accomplishments to buy a big flag, that really is an “in-your-face” rolling nativist statement claiming that they have a deeper sense of patriotism than those Americans who do not drive around with big flags, which of course a total crock of crap. So the more I think about it, flying the American flag in the back of one’s pick-up truck, without merit, until it gets ragged and tattered is just plain disrespectful. When I see that I can conclude with reasonable certainty that the only America that the driver likes is the one in their fantasies and that given the chance they would happily see the actual country burn.
