2 pointsAll those unconstitutional laws were held up due to intermediate scrutiny of the lower courts. I believe they choose this case specifically to whack the lower courts with the reality bat and send them a message.

1 pointCases can be consolidated. I doubt they will be. If we can’t win the ny transport case, we can’t win these I suspect. If we do win, we are likely to get a new standard of scrutiny or a specific legal test. At that point what would make sense is to kick them back to the lower court saying the legal reasoning is flawed and they need to redo their decision.

1 pointAnd since Heller, almost every case involving AWB, mag limits, and CCW denial has been upheld. As great as a case everyone thinks Heller was, it really wasn't. Left way too many holes and openings to further restrictions. That was 2008. Mcdonald was 2010. This will be 2020 and change nothing. Next case will be 2030. And I hope I'm wrong.

1 pointThis ^^^^ I'm dumbfounded by the posters who think this will be simply a ruling on about to transport a firearm in NYC and have it apply only in the narrowest way. SCOTUS gets hundreds of not thousands of cases in front of them to choose, why would they choose a case like this if to only help out NYC firearms owners??? It makes no sense. In pretty sure this is to establish level of scrutiny precedent for all the lower kangaroo courts in the land.

1 pointAs long as it is not loaded AND accessable to a minor, store it how you like. Put it on your coffee table if it floats your boat. NJ 2C:58-15 https://codes.findlaw.com/nj/title-2c-the-new-jersey-code-of-criminal-justice/nj-st-sect-2c-58-15.html I personally would not put a firearm anywhere that can be seen from outside. A firearm visible is a great target for a theif.

1 pointThis is very true. It's happening in Maine, PA, Texas, Vermont everywhere the locus spread. All I hear is "nope never happen here". BULL! it is happening in bits and pieces everywhere. Don't you think the universal back ground checks will effect you if they become national law? It's the end of private sales as we know (knew) them. It adds an extra 50-80 bucks to each sale. As these whiners move into their McMansions where a 200 acre farm once stood , they bring these very issues and they bring votes. They get their people in the state houses and get their way. They get their way because of apathy. Because "nope never happen here". Among other things on the anti's hit list is a national magazine capacity law. " nope never happen here" will happen if it becomes national law. Trump will veto it? Maybe. As long as he is president. Even if re-elected the next guy four years after that may not. These SCOTUS decisions must become the law of the land are needed for all of us regardless of our state.
