6 pointsIm sure someone said the same thing about tasers being legal to own and carry in NJ. Every bit of change that goes in our favor, were made possible by people not giving up. If everyone is optimistic, we can be proven wrong or right. But if everyone is pessimistic, we can only be proven right.

1 pointA New Hampshire permit (or any other permit) will still allow a non-resident to carry firearms in their car in Pennsylvania, as per exception #11 of PA 6106. Now if they just lift the ridiculous opioid state of emergency so I can open carry...

1 pointOne IOI in CT said this. There is no law or regulation. Good luck looking.
-
1 pointIIRC - New ATF regulation is to measure from the end of the barrel to the end of the receiver extension with any brace and muzzle device removed (unless the muzzle device is pinned, then that remains).

1 pointThat whole illegal transfer thing is so NJ stupid. Now that I am in VA I can lend a gun to a neighbor or friend if I want to. Here is our State Constitutional Provision: STATE CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISION - Article 1, Section 13. “That a well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state, therefore, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.”

1 pointYes Nope no one needs any permit to carry open or concealed. I got my resident permit for resaprocity with other states for when traveling also many people up here will only do a FTF sale with permit holders.
-
1 pointIm thinking it is. But a nh resident needs one for conceal carry. Like nc does. I can open carry in nc. But i need a cc from another state to cc in nc.

1 pointThat's OK, those "truckloads" are phenomenal guns. A Shield with an Apex kit is a beautiful thing. Factor that in to the price, though, and compare to a 2.0 that largely doesn't need one. I would love a Shield 2.0 Performance Center with a 4" barrel. And some prefer the less grippy older Shields.

1 pointYou mention that you are going deer hunting in PA...... but it seems more like you are fishing in NJ. If you really have a legitimate question, I recommend rather than asking a bunch of strangers online, you should call the NJ State Police Firearms unit and ask your question. 609-882-2000

1 pointColt isn’t banning shit. They are a company, and not in any way able to institute a ban on anything.
-
1 pointJust picked this up from MM on Thursday. Fit and Finish is excellent. Probably only change will be to a LaRue 2 Stage trigger and maybe some offset iron sights.

1 point#1 I would replace the oprod spring with a known good spring. The symptoms of a weak spring are sometimes confused with being under-gassed, because you get such high bolt velocity that it skips the second round or will misfeed. You didn't quite fully explain the details of the malfunction so I don't know if this is more or less applicable. Is the bolt picking up the second round and failing to feed it because it doesn't have enough "oomph"? Or is the bolt picking up the second round and it's jamming? Or is the bolt skipping over the second round completely and returning to battery on an empty chamber? All 3 scenarios could be considered "the bolt not taking up the second round" http://www.garandgear.com/m1-garand-spring.html https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/recoil-parts/recoil-springs/m1-garand-operating-rod-spring-prod38877.aspx While you have it apart, clean the gas port out with a #47 drill bit. If the port is fouled, gently spin the bit with your fingers as you clean the port. DO NOT USE A POWER TOOL OR A BIT HOLDER. If you're malfunction is from being under-gassed, this is the easy and most likely culprit. Most military surplus .30-06, like the HXP greek, the PS/KA Korean, and the LC is as "garand friendly" as factory ammo gets, from a functioning standpoint. So, I'd rule ammo out of the equation unless you didn't have one of the above "flavors" of surplus. I would say with 90% certainty, if you did both these tweaks, your gun will run. The nice thing is, you should do those two things anyways, so it's a perfect starting point.

1 pointPhone was updating .. so.... I had the opportunity to shoot the full Modern Material line up yesterday with the main focus on the SBF. While conditions weren’t the best, random thunderstorms, rain, 90*+ degrees with roughly 100% humidity, I was able to make quite a few shots on steel targets varying between 50-100 yards using a red dot. I am not a good shooter mind you and the humidity did cause my glasses to fog adding to the challenge. The SBF was extremely light, accurate, (as accurate as I could be), and surprisingly was not as loud as I thought for its short size. It was actually rather tame! If anyone has ever considered something small for home defense, this would probably be the best alternative hands down. I will be ordering one of these in the near future from MM. what an awesome little package!!
-
1 pointYou can add the Griffin Ind blast shield to the MM Brake that is already on there. I am a big fan of their brake. Shoots very flat and soft.
-
1 pointHere is our SBF with an 11.5 inch barrel and the 26.1 comes right the crown of the barrel.

0 pointsBased on my previous post, I’d say the odds are pretty low. We need to have a future BBQ shoot-out up north I’ve got rib and jalapeño popper recipes dialed in and ready for any critics. And my smoked leg of lamb, while less traditional, is just about perfected
-
0 pointsWish I could make it, but that’s a long way from me, and I’m committed for half of the day up north. I look forward to the pics and the tasting notes from the group.
