I can't speak for others, but I plan on moving to a red state and will continue to vote conservative. As far as I can guess, liberals are either too stupid, too dependent or too attached to an idealistic belief system of sunshine and lollipops to change Thus, they continue to vote the same way in spite of having ruined the place they came from. Liberals are takers, they tap one place dry and move on to another victim community to sink their parasitic teeth into.

I've got plenty more than I need now. Time to get some things I want lol. Bunch of 30 rd mags to start with and first gun will be a form of M1 carbine, such a purty rifle then who knows. Still have a house to buy .

I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for the community we have built up over the last 10 years and am blown away by the support and the response for every one of you watching and industry partners providing me with products to bring to you! A huge "Thank You" to our staff, @67gtonut @Krdshrk and @Mrs. Peel over the last year. I am blessed to have you all be a part of the community.

Then why when these people leave, they vote in the same types to create the same mess they just left?

You'd be surprised at how many places have it down here. You will love it!

Not really. I can't wait to move to free America, the thought is not at all "whimsical". The point here is, 44% of NJ residents have little to no love for this socialist state. People do not leave states where they are free, prosperous and get to keep more of the money they worked for.

This has nothing to do with reading comprehension, LOL. Its basic logic. Most families that own guns dont hide that fact from their kids, in fact they introduce them to guns at early ages. Even if you dont, like my dad never did... kids are still curious. Not to mention, what happens when one day they figure it out? Your going to rush out and buy a safe? Forward thinking..

Every house that comes up for sale in my neighborhood sells within 4 days for asking price or over asking. Just to put things in perspective. This is first hand real news.

There's a lot to like with a 1911 in 9mm. It's a sweet shooter. 115 grain ball ammo is so cheap it's not worth reloading. Whatever you do, though, particularly for a first pistol, is go with a "name" manufacturer; something you recognize, like Glock, S&W, Ruger, Sig, Browning, etc. Some of the lesser-known manufacturers do turn-out a quality product, but starting-out, you're better-off with something common that has an established parts/accessories/repair pipeline.

On this subject of leaving NJ, wife just reminded me 35 yrs ago, day before Thanksgiving our realtor handed us the keys to our new home, the one I'm in now. Yesterday, again the day before, we signed a lease for a house in FL for Jan 1. How cool is that! Will be renting while we look to purchase.

To the new members please update your profiles with a location. I am not talking your street address or anything specific but your county is a good start. There are a couple of WTB or WTS items right now that dont have an updated profile so nobody knows the general area. I for one know that I wont reply to a WTS or WTB thread unless the user updates their profile. For me it is a waste of time to have to keep asking where are you located. This helps with meetups and also lets other members see who is in the general area. You never know, a member on here may be your neighbor. A couple of months ago also there was a thread in which people started updating the signature line in their profiles with their first name. This helps get a community feeling on the board and makes a little more personal experience. Please update your profiles and sit back and relax. Welcome to the NJGF community.

I posted about these when I first won the auction. With the use of a Multiple Purchase Exemption I was able to pick them both up on Tuesday. Here is the back story – earlier this year I acquired a Sports South Heritage Model 25-10. It came to me in this presentation case… Knowing that the case did not match the gun I did some research and found that this was a presentation case for a 1988 Iditarod Commemorative Model 629-1. These were commissioned by the Alaska Continental Bank and were given as premiums to those bank customers that purchased a $10K CD. The bank contracted with S&W for a run of 1000 and both the presentation case and the barrel are so marked… However, the bank went under before the whole contract was fulfilled and only 545 were made. These all carried the special serial prefix AKI (Alaska Iditarod) and numbered 0001 thru 0545. Now having the presentation case, but no gun, it became routine for me, when perusing the various sites that I use to populate my collection, to include a search for “Iditarod”. Recently this returned a result of a consecutively numbered pair, on which I bid and which I won… These number in the 0150 range. Here’s some additional pictures. Enjoy. Adios, Pizza Bob

Well, this isn't going to work out well for the ones that stay here. Think it's expensive NOW??? Just wait... Thanks to the highest property taxes in the nation and an unsustainable cost of living, 44% of New Jersey residents plan to leave the state in the 'no so distant future,' according to a recent survey from the Garden State Initiative (GSI) and Fairleigh Dickenson University School of Public & Global Affairs. Unsurprisingly, Property Taxes and the overall Cost of Living were cited as the main drivers. The results also debunk two issues frequently cited in anecdotal accounts of outmigration, weather and public transportation, as they ranked 8th and 10th respectively, out of 11 factors offered. The desire to leave the Garden State was reflected most strongly among young residents (18-29) with almost 40% anticipating leaving the state within the next five years. At the other end of the spectrum, a third (33%) of those nearing retirement (50-64) plan to leave within the next five years. -Insider NJ "These results should alarm every elected official and policymaker in New Jersey, said GSI's president, former Chris Christie Chief of Staff Regina Egea. GSI focuses on providing "research-based answers to fiscal and economic issues" facing the state. https://www.gardenstateinitiative.org/updates/2019/11/22/gsi-fdu-poll

Damn. You got me. My position must be invalid since I quoted the wrong post of yours. I quoted to post that reiterated the silly notion instead of the original post with the bad advice. I edited my response above to reflect your original post with garbage advice. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I’m sure none of the people reading this thread had any idea what I was referring to. Seriously, you are doing God’s work here. You should be commended.

"Witness Guy Lawrence, 48, said he saw a man running out of a building, believed to be Fishmongers' Hall, armed with two 20cm kitchen knives." Ahh ... so he had an arsenal/cache of weapons as well.

OK Smokie, you get the drift now? None of us owns just one pistol!!! Or revolver! (Bob! Yes I have several.) If you catch the bug, you'll end up owning more than two as well. Shoot whatever you can before you buy. Then go for it. It won't be your last purchase.

When I bought my first Glock, I felt the same way as you, and bought a full size (G22). I’ve since found that I prefer the mid size G19/23’s...more concealable if you move to a free state, and standard capacity mags hold 15rounds. Handguns are all a very personal choice, but if I was starting out in handguns again, I’d start with a G19. I suggest you rent a variety of pistols and see what fits you best before you buy.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Maks! I think I can speak for all of us in saying how much knowledge (and yes, entertainment) these forums bring throughout the year!

No, just age, sex, education, email address, income, marital status, religious affiliation, zip code, own/rent, occupation, etc. But they did not ask for any personal information at all thank goodness! I feel sorry for [email protected] now! She's gonna have to tell why a 24 year old female living in Beverly Hills is a VERY pro gun conservative Republican!

I'm not a Glock fan myself (don't like the ergonomics of them). I think you're doing the right thing renting and trying. I believe you will never know if you really like a gun until you've shot a few hundred rounds. I'm partial to M&P myself, but I've been contemplating a SIG next. Monmouth Arms is right down the road from you and Steve @remixer is a good guy.
  36. 1 point
Look no further...Sig is your answer. P320 give you modularity and ability to customize. P226 is great for your 2nd choice.

Being the resident revolver geek, I would be remiss if I didn't say your second gun should be a wheel gun. And, if you really must have the second be a 9 mm, then look at a S&W 986 or come out and play with the big boys with a 929. Welcome to the forum. Adios, Pizza Bob

Nah. That just means you picked the one she was thinking of.

You can never go wrong with a Beretta 92. Also a fan of the VP9.
  41. 1 point
I would say the 17 over the 19 since you won't conceal carry and are limited to 10 rounds. Longer sight radius and barrel. And if you do move to a free state you can upgrade to a 17-round mag. Next up look at the Walther PPQ (M1 or M2) and the H&K VP9. The M&P 2.0 9mm with 4" barrel (12464) is also very good if you like the more aggressive grip texture. You can get that one with or without a thumb safety. I prefer without. Happy hunting.

I’m rather partial for to the Glock 19, probably the most popular 9mm handgun. I don’t know if a good dealer in your area, but I’m sure someone will chime in with a suggestion. I believe we have a ‘find a dealer’ function on the site... Oh, and welcome to the forum.
