It's not really news at this point, but the numbers are interesting. There were 442,214 handgun permit applications filed in 2020, a 332% increase from the 102,270 filed in 2019. The largest spike in applications came in June. There were 109,709 applications filed that month, compared to just 18,038 in May. Applications dipped to 42,694 in July and hovered around 40,000 each month until December, when the number fell to 32,841. But interest in gun ownership is not waning. From Jan. 1 to Jan. 12, there were 9,344 applications submitted .In Hoboken, where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 48.5% to 15%, there were 605 permits filed to purchase a handgun in 2020, compared to 237 in 2019. The city issued 423 firearm identification cards last year, up from 147 in 2019. In Brick, where registered Republicans account for 33.2% of residents compared to 24.3% Democrats, there were 3,662 applications for handgun permits filed in 2020, up from 1,354 in 2019. There can be up to a six-month wait to get a handgun application processed. This time last year, applications took about a month to handle. Personally I think the 'interest' is only going to increase.

The Hexmags are fine especially when i got them at cost. But I would have rather have Pmags or Lancers as they are a superior mag.

Gen 1 hex mags had issues they would split at the seam near the feed lips when fully loaded. But gen 2 hex mags fixed the problems, And you could trade your gen 1 mags for gen 2 for free

You can buy fractional shares in it. That’s what I do with crypto. And sorry. I screwed up POWW this morning...cause I bought more. Then it headed down. Lol

Internet and TV providers are such scam artists. Artificially capping your speeds unless you pay them more. Now all these channels are doing on-demand services just to leech more money from us. Unless we hotspot from our phones, our only possible ISP is Xfinity in my town. Every couple years, I just go to the store and tell them, "What can we do to lower my bill? I don't feel like playing the game and threatening to cancel like everyone does." Then they'll just give me a package they are offering new people and I go on my way. After taxes and all the hidden government fees and shit, I think we are at $180/mo for 250 Mbps download speed and cable that includes some premium channels. They also gave us the phone line but we don't use it. This is the highest my Comcast bill has ever been.

it's in the crypto space but not a true crypto. it's blockchain technology has utility and real value, not a measure of a persons' view of wealth.

I agree with this. And natural gas stocks too.

I actually have considered the kit, where you put a c2/c3 body on new chassis (think c5 or c6). David, would not worry about mechanical issues or inability to get parts. That is simply not the case with any year to be honest. Whether it's an older c1-4 or the new ones. Parts acquisition is simply not an issue

Yup. I pretty sure someone said this elsewhere on the forum but my ammo is worth more than my guns right now.

Additionally, if you can find a publicly traded company that recycles wind turbine blades....I’d probably think seriously about getting into it. This is a good article outlying the problem and some potential solutions: https://grist.org/energy/todays-wind-turbine-blades-could-become-tomorrows-bridges/ These used wind turbine blades are becoming a big problem. There are thousands of them sitting out in West Texas, and piling up. Very few people recycle them, and no one I see offhand that’s publicly traded.

I think green energy is going to go up. As is natural gas. Pharma. Pets (as Sniper has pointed out). There is a video game company (RBLX I think) that’s about to open public trading I am also having a look at.

If we had a crystal ball, we'd all be rich. But, pick any Biden policy, and ride that wave. Green energy, free healthcare, free college, illegal alien services, etc.

I do not believe that you can extend them past the 180 days.

My NH permit is also expiring this month. I see no reason to renew that permit since I also have Florida which actually gives me more than NH.
  16. 1 point
True. NH is more convenient in that regard. The good thing is that Arizona, Virginia, and Florida will accept the Pennsylvania hunter safety course as training and probably the New Jersey equivilent. Florida amd Virginia require fingerprints on each renewal, whereas Arizona does not. Arizona has a low renewal cost. I think around $35.

Great picks, y’all!! I’ll look into some of these. I expect MVIS to make a run upwards in March/April. ZOM has a new diagnostic product hitting the market late March. I expect them will do well with that. POWW...well, they are an ammunition company...I expect that to do well over the next year. I’m sniffing around EMAN, thinking about dumping my low performers and jumping into that one. They make OLEDs related to military hardware (and are a client of mine).

I think some of you folks have really hijacked this thread and taken it down the path of a personal squabble. If you want to debate the Gov's actions, there's another place for that. I actually don't like just throwing threads into the 1A lounge, because it is not fair to the original poster (because it's viewed less there). That said, @Sniper, @JackDaWack, and @Greenday - if you want to debate essential vs. non-essential, the current closures, etc., open up a PM, or move your personal debate over to the chat feature... and then knock yourselves out! Thank you!

Good day and I hope this email finds you well. On our chat I have had a number of questions regarding what's going on and I wanted to send out a note to reassure you. If you are not aware, since the "election" social media companies have been hard at work silencing those they simply do not agree with. Twitter has banned over 70,000 accounts and FaceBook is purging posts that have key terms like "Stop the steal." Today, the purge hit the firearms community and a site that pretty much everyone is familiar with, AR15.com. Unfortunately, this is not surprising and anyone in the domain community has known for some time that GoDaddy is Anti-Gun and Anti Freedom of Speech. So while I am irritated that GoDaddy took these actions with AR15.com, I am more surprised that it was somehow a shock to someone who should have known better. AR15.com was registered at GoDaddy, and far more disturbing, is still having it's website hosted on Amazon's AWS. Just last night, Amazon chose to cut off services to Parler, which ran on the very same Amazon Web Services' cloud computing platform. How Does this Impact NJGF and How Are We Exposed? Since DAY 1, over 12 years ago, being at the mercy of anti-gun companies has been a concern of mine. As such, the domain has ALWAYS been registered and managed at either an offshore web registrar, Internet.bs, registered in the Bahamas, or, and for the last few years, at Epik.com, a registrar owned by a Freedom loving, CEO Rob Monster, someone I have come to known fairly well over the prior few years. Before Gab.com, Parler.com and now AR15.com found Epik.com, we have been using them for NJGunForums.com registration along with many other domains in my firearms portfolio. The company is strongly in support of the First and Second Amendments and I do not have any concerns there. In either case, if there is trouble on the horizon, the next step would be to register the domain at an offshore registrar. Hosting wise, there is a weeeeeee bit more exposure. NJGF is hosted on a dedicated server, with a host we have used for the last 8 years or so. I have had multiple discussions with the host over the years regarding firearms and they are completely okay with the firearms community. More than that, we are not on a "cloud" hosting platform where the data is all over the place, the data is on a server, backed up to two drivers. We DO use Amazon for cheap backup storage however, however an outage there, would have no impact on the community. As a backup, I maintain a number of backup hosts offshore as well, currently Norway, a country that values internet freedom, and will look into adding a second in either Switzerland or Bulgaria. In the event the current host would have an issue with the firearms community, it would take a few hours to transition to an offshore hosting account. Many people have asked about what they can do, and why we have "Premier Memberships" on the forum, this is why. Bottom Line While I am deeply concerned about the "cancel culture," I am not concerned about being in the position that AR15.com is today, and what many other firearms communities may find themselves in tomorrow. For the last 10 years, these concerns were top of mind and it is why we block traffic from most of Asia, and have the domain registered and servers hosted where we do. If you want to support the community and help with the additional backup servers, please consider becoming a Premier Member. You can do that here... https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/store/category/1-premier-membership/ If you have domains left over at GoDaddy, and want to tell them to pound sand, I highly recommend Epik.com, and it is where I have the vast majority of my domains registered, please use our link, http://slav.li/epik Thanks! -Maks

    1) There's a TON of inventory moving. It's just instantly moving through the system due to demand. 2) What are you expecting ammo manufacturers to actually do that they aren't doing? Keep in mind they aren't making these huge margins you are seeing and are coming off tight times where you had a case of m193 equivalent going for $230. Even so, they are operating balls out at 100% capacity to the point metals prices are rising, and they are also expanding capacity. They just can't expand fast enough, and it would be unwise to actually target this level of demand as the new normal. Typically demand after one of these panics never goes all the way back down, but it goes back down. Hornady has done 3 years of sales in 9 months. Grind Hard Ammo, which is basically a nobody was able to put up sales numbers foreseeing a panic coming that has enabled them to expand to the tune of $20 million dollars by their claim. The guy who owns grind hard says one of his up stream suppliers who also makes ammo is cranking out 800,000 rounds of 5.56 a day in is backordered to at least June of 2021. vista outdoors saw sales increase 30% and it's limited to that because they hit their capacity and have been busy spending on buying other companies. I know the place I purchase my bullets from for reloading has seen demand double and has expanded capacity twice the most recent added 30% of production capacity of the whole company just for 9mm. To make another capacity jump they would have to buy or rent more land and build from scratch. They are back ordered at least to April. WE normally consumed about 11 billion rounds of ammo a year. About 9 of that is domestic and another couple billion are imported. They say we blew past that back around July/August and we really didn't start buying it in volume until mid-February.

Ask yourself this, if a unarmed person was breaking you door down or climbing thru a window threatening you would you shoot . ? What if the backpack contained 5 Lbs of C-4 . Would you shoot? No real answer to speculate ,but there are better ways to change the government than forcing your way into a government building.

Did you know that NJGF has a 'Price Request' feature? This link sends an email to our supporting vendors to let them know that you are interested in a specific firearm, and allows them to respond with pricing. Click here to try it out! --> http://njgunforums.c...x.php?/contact/
