I always find these interesting. It's an infographic of what equipment competitors were using in the 2020 US Practical Shooting Association National Championships, broken out by division. What were the top USPSA competitors running in 2020? Most of these competitors are real gear fanatics, so the list largely reflects what they feel is the best available for the sport, with a little bit of 'what's the latest fad' thrown in. It's quite detailed, breaking out everything used from shooting glasses and hearing protection brands, to gun manufacturer/custom shop, holster, belt, mag pouch, magazine supplier, commercial ammo manufacturer, bullet type and weight, and for the reloaders, powder, brass, primer, and reloading press used. Enjoy.

There are tiers for condition. Anjrpc does qualify, however I'm not under the impression you can do group buys through the CMP. I thought the rifles were dedicated for only members that qualify, and not to be directly distributed or transferred to those who don't. CMP will blacklist people who intentionally violate their rules. The civilian Marksmanship Program has some strict rules as to your intentions for purchasing rifles, primarily personal use to promote Marksmanship programs. Which is why they only sell to people part of clubs and organizations that qualify with Marksmanship programs, even if you don't participate in them. ANJRPC has yearly shooting competitions specifically for CMP acquired rifles, and other historical rifles. Doing a group buy for people who don't qualify imo is a big red mark on the reason the program exists, who ever buys them if you guys do this should understand the potential consequences of never being able to buy again in the future.

Ammo as wedding gifts and the range for a honeymoon. Problem solved.

Surefire X300U is the “A” answer. Avoid the strobe. Keep the switchology simple - light on, light off. That’s about all the brainpower you will have to spare in a real world deployment anyway. Additionally, any strobe effect that disorients your threat, will also disorient you, AND, most importantly, strobes hide subtle movement - which means you will miss threat indicators and warning signs, specifically slow movements of the hands. Get all the light (lumens and candela) you can and be able to turn it on and off.

the video I posted said yes, both A and B will work with either. The A is quick disconnect and may not attach as tight but both will work on either metal or poly

I had a lengthy discussion with a rep at Charlie Cooper about the 10th round (or last round) problem. It was like pulling teeth, but he finally fessed up that they purposely make it so the tenth round barely fits, even if it could cause a malfunction. They are more afraid of being sued by NY or Cali than they are the widow of some guy who's gun would not load the first round off a fully loaded modded mag. It's the morons that try to force an 11th round in 10 round mags that made that a necessary decision for Cooper. No matter what the mag capacity, it's generally a good practice to load any mag "minus 1". I knew this all along, before I called Cooper, and always loaded my mags -1. But, I'm a stubborn fool sometimes, and goddammit, I paid for a mag that functions with ten rounds and that bitch better hold ten, even if I intend to only load nine.

I think it is $200 after the code is entered. Like I said, Ike is the man!

One other thing - a WML is not a substitute for a handheld flashlight. You really do need both - Sometimes you want to see something without pointing a gun at it. Don’t just have them either. Know how to properly use them. Simply owning a WML/flashlight doesn’t make you a night fighter any more than owning a guitar makes you Jimi Hendrix. Invest in software as well as hardware. It’s worth every penny.

The only difference is in how the mounting system works. “A” type (rail slide with latch) preferred for polymer guns ”B” type (cross bolt) preferred for metal framed guns

Nothing wrong with Anderson at all. I feel sorry for the guys that need to have a certain logo or pay $50 for a safety, imagine having that little of a dik that you need to pay up for a weapon they will fire less than 500rds/yr lol I say this as someone who has/had LMT, COLT, NOVESKE, BCM, LARUE, etc etc etc.... I used Anderson parts for my boys first builds over the summer and was very happy

Magpul just introduced 10/30 rd pmags at a MSRP of $18. I'd buy those and save on money & headaches. Keep those 30 rd mags whole.

Disclosure: I've transferred a lower through Ira once, and have no ongoing relationship with him or his business. Most places buying used guns will give you between 40-60% of their resale price. If he put it up for 25% over what he paid for the gun, he wasn't making it up that it was going to sell low. If the 25% more is 25% more than the gun plus ammo, that might be more in line with standard pricing practices and bumped up his margin, but seldom is selling a gun to a retail outlet an exercise in getting anything close to market value out of it.

I've dealt with Ira before, never for gunsmithing work but bought guns from him and sold guns to him. He is an ok guy but I can tell you that he will squeeze every penny out of you if he can. Just and FYI. He got me good once when I sold him my 96A1 with 5 mags and over 400 rounds of .40 ammo. He told me it won't sell high because it had a deep scratch on the slide. I later see on his sight that he was selling it with only 2 mags and no ammo for 25% more then he paid me and it sold in less then a week, and he sold the other 3 mags and ammo separately. Never dealt with him again after that.

@Krdshrk tagged me to help you @sage613 Muzzleloading hand guns come as flintlock & percussion. Flints can be smoothbore or rifled. Percussion is generally always rifled. I own Cap & Ball revolvers that work with #10 percussion caps. I've hunted 300 pound hogs with my Uberti 1847 Colt Walker replica cap & ball w/ a .456 conical weighing 225 grains. Outdoor ranges are required to fire muzzleloaders since the HEPPA filters at indoor ranges get clogged FAST with black powder smoke. And they cost MONEY! Two private clubs offer outdoor ranges near Monmouth Co.: 1. Monmouth County Rifle & Pistol Club located at the corner of Monmouth Executive Airport 2. Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club located off Rt. 516 in Old Bridge I've been a member at Monmouth twice, and I've shot black powder matches at both clubs. Both clubs hold regular black powder league matches where mentoring can take place, and non-members can attend these league matches and be mentored. This of course has to be planned in advance, you don't just show up unannounced and expect folks to provide you free rides on their equipment at a moment's notice Where are you in Monmouth County? A third range, Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club, is located in the pines in Jackson, NJ. They have a $600 buy-in (initiation fee), but their dues are affordable. Monmouth Co. R&P usually has a waiting list. Old bridge does not, and their initiation fee is half of Central Jersey's. Hope I've been helpful! Here's a little smoke for ya, lol! PM me so we can go shooting & start your mentoring

Sorry - I missed this when you first asked. I have a set of gauges. I'm in Hunterdon Co. Where are you? Sorry to have to say this, but the whole point of checking the headspace is to make sure it is safe to fire.

I love how this thread started trying to help a guy with a home defense rifle and spun into a large group buy of M1 Garands!!! "You get a Grand, and you get a Garand, and you get a Garand..."
