I haven't watched SNL in years, so I never saw this sketch that my friend sent me this morning. And since almost all of us are from New Jersey...

I have "x" amount of ARs already... I build them seasonally.... Won't disclose for prying ATF eyes.. most were lost in a terrible accident, blah blah blah.... I want a damn M1 now! The interest was peaked with a cover vs concealment meme and now I absolutely NEED one.

Thank you gentlemen .... seems like the FFL called “a buddy” and the buddy cleared some misconceptions he had. The sale is going through apparently .

It doesn't matter what's engraved on it. "Make" is the importer (if there is one) and manufacturer that is on the serialized part. "Model" is not required. "Type" is based on it's current configuration. Who cares, or can prove, what it was prior. "Caliber" is based on the barrel's chambering. What it says on the receiver is irrelevant.

You are correct. However, from the FFL standpoint.. they would have to agree that your build is substantially identical to what the NJSP opinioned was legally considered an other. If you used a different brace, or vfg than they can simply say no due to many unknowns.

Why? It’s easy to meet the CMP requirements, and it unlocks all the treasures in the CMP store.

I had a lengthy discussion with a rep at Charlie Cooper about the 10th round (or last round) problem. It was like pulling teeth, but he finally fessed up that they purposely make it so the tenth round barely fits, even if it could cause a malfunction. They are more afraid of being sued by NY or Cali than they are the widow of some guy who's gun would not load the first round off a fully loaded modded mag. It's the morons that try to force an 11th round in 10 round mags that made that a necessary decision for Cooper. No matter what the mag capacity, it's generally a good practice to load any mag "minus 1". I knew this all along, before I called Cooper, and always loaded my mags -1. But, I'm a stubborn fool sometimes, and goddammit, I paid for a mag that functions with ten rounds and that bitch better hold ten, even if I intend to only load nine.

It's pretty amazing. I showed wifey a case of 223 a little earlier, told her if I sold in now, it would be a 300% ROI. Showed her a case of 9mm, close to a 400% ROI... Crazy stuff... she would roll her eyes when the UPS guy would deliver it. Now she says, why didn't you buy MORE back then??

You aren't wrong. If you purchased thousands and thousands of the most common caliber rounds 2-3 years ago you could easily sell it now for 3-4x what you paid. And it hardly ever goes bad! Ammo even has intrinsic value. You can sell spent brass casings or trade them. Or make more ammo if you have all the tools.
