This came up about a year and a half ago ago here in a thread and I took the test. https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/96603-16-personality-test/ I took the it again, just now, to see if I got a different answer. Results - INFJ-A Advocate Same results as last time. And you were the one that started it last time!!!

Less than 2 years of this nonsense if the Republicans can take back the senate in the midterms!

Glenn shoots blanks. I played a prank on him. I loaded my 686.shot it. Then had him try it. I loaded it with blanks. Love ya bro

Hoping that Machine and Sinema have the backbone to stand against this, or at least stand against eliminating the filibuster rule.

Apart from the obvious - you shouldn't be on the trigger as you disengage the safety - I assume you mean you would have to adjust your grip to be able to reach the trigger after disengaging the safety. The extended safety lever you posted a link to would not help you. That appears to have the lever in exactly the same position but with a wider shelf to press on. Edit: after reviewing, it does seem to extend the shelf back as well as out. - so maybe?

Like Tex said, you are not in a grey area. As long as: 1) The overall length is over 26” - when measured from the end of the barrel with device removed or the end of a permanently installed muzzle device to the rear of receiver extension with the brace removed or in its shortest configuration if you have a folding-type adapter (This is a Federal standard for measuring. If it measures I under 26” overall, it falls into AOW territory - and that is a gray area in NJ) 2) The upper must have a VFG on the rail - the Magpul AFG or other angled fore grips do not count here. It has to be a vertical grip. 3) The lower receiver has never had a stock installed and was never transferred as a rifle. Federal law says you can’t go from Rifle to Pistol/Other. 4) The lower receiver has any pistol brace on the receiver extension/buffer tube, or something that is definitely NOT defined as a stock, or a bare receiver extension. If you meet all four criteria, your gun falls under the Federal Definition of a “Firearm” or “Other” and is legal in NJ. Don’t over think this. (Obligatory I am not a lawyer, take internet advice at your own risk, etc...)

You are NOT in a grey area AS LONG AS the PSA upper also is 12.5” barrel (or pinned/welded with a muzzle device that makes the firearm 26” OAL), AND has a VFG.

I hear ya. I just spent a couple of weeks in Costa Rica, couldn't take the winter here anymore...

One other important criteria - Technically, the lower can not have ever had a stock installed - ATF says you can’t go from a lower that was originally a rifle to pistol - so even with a brace, it’s still a rifle, making an SBF into an SBR. In other words, whatever lower you use, it can not have been originally transferred as a rifle. You need to use either a lower you bought stripped with I stock, or as a lower transferred as an SBF.

Mostly, yes so long as you get the correct caliber. The external dimensions are the same for standard frame sizes. The internal dimensions are obviously smaller when you compare 9mm to .45ACP mags. There are some minor nuances and some people find one particular manufacturer doesn't run well in their gun, but that can often be fixed by a gunsmith tuning the mag. I have had no issues with DP mags in my 9mm Springfield or with the Chip McCormick powermags in my .45 S&W. I run the DP ICE magwell on both with the DP no-gap base pads.

I use the Dawson Precision 10 round mags in my Springfield 1911 9mm. No issues at all.

I may be persuaded to run another class this year. It's not on my radar right now but if I hear of enough interest I'll schedule one.

Found these. Not a cheap mag. https://gunmagwarehouse.com/kimber-1911-9mm-stainless-steel-9-round-magazine.html https://www.midwayusa.com/magazines/br?cid=18830&targetLocation=%2F_%2FN-18830%2B4294901991%2B4294922445%2B4294944052%3FNp%3D2%26Nr%3DAND%28p_visible%3A1%2Ccustomertypeid%3A1%29%26Nrpp%3D24%26Ns%3Dp_metric_sales_velocity%7C1%26Ntpc%3D1%26Ntpr%3D1 Need to check compatibility

It would need 10 Republican Senators to vote for it. Not going to happen.

For reasons I won't go into here, trust what @High Exposure says! I have never found him to be wrong when he chimes in on NJ gun law. Suffice it to say, HE knows the law!

Get ready for the next 4 years of this. They are going to be throwing a lot of shit at the wall to see what sticks.
  22. 1 point
Stop.... An SBF is an SBF by identifiable traits, not by any particular manufacturers brand. Prove it. Show me where anything says that in NJ law.

Ok, Video is complete. It tasted great. In a do-over, I'd put more tallow on for the rest.
  24. 1 point
Says who? You can put any upper you want on a lower with an adjustable brace as long as the upper meets the requirements to keep the firearm an “other” or SBF.

I'm new to reloading as well. Purchased a Hornady Lock N' Load few years ago but since ammo was cheap it just sat. Well, time are a LITTLE different now. With a lot of advice and help from @Golf battery I've gotten the press up and running. Ran some reloads I made through my GP100 with him yesterday. Very satisfying knowing I can make my own ammo at times during ammo shortages for price spikes. As to your question about load data. Many of the powder makers have the info on their websites. Here's an example of 9mm with 145 grain bullet using CFE Pistol from Hodgdon's website. Good luck. Be careful. Happy reloading! Edit: I noticed after posting that it didn't save the cartridge & bullet weight info. You can plug it in. But you get the idea. Check the powder maker's websites for load information for their particular powder. https://hodgdon.com/cfe-pistol/

Thanks kev for the detailed info! And glad its in this thread as it may be a benefit to someone else in the future. Cant imagine someone could be that stupid or clueless to walk up with a loaded gun, like 'im here and ready'.. WTF.. Im confident in my gun handling and etiquette. Been a gun owner, shooter, and hunter for 30 years now. My biggest dilemma is what gun to bring! My .22 handgun, a saturday night special phoenix arms HP22 has been acting up, so thats out.. Could bring the glock .40 but dont want to look like one of those new Glock boys.. lol Probably just bring the little XDs 9mm.. But for simplicity sake, could always bring my first love, the stainless S&W 686. But that may look like im trying to compensate for something like the guys with the big ol' lifted diesel trucks..

Bravo to @marlintag for selling ammo at very fair prices in a VERY unfair time! Many of you here who are going crazy to buy ammo should really consider getting into reloading! Not a great time for some of the components, but still cheaper and just as good or better than factory ammo!
