    You're very right. She's a keeper!

I don’t understand the ‘hold outs’ who insist on calling Taylor Pork Roll…’Taylor Ham’. Since 1906, as @CMJeepster aptly pointed out in his post above, it’s been called Taylor Pork Roll. If you were born before 1906, I could probably understand one ‘holding on’ to the (incorrect) name of ‘Taylor Ham’. But, you weren’t….were you @Mrs. Peel. You are NOT 115 years old.

Actually, I think you're among the lucky few... I've noticed a lot of guys on here sometimes complain that their significant others show zero interest in going to the range with them once in awhile. So, on a happy note, at least you and your wife share the same interest!

Hey all. So we are about a year in from first getting our FID cards. Our current collection consists of the following: Sig P320X Compact RXP (9mm) Canik TP9SFX (9mm) Smith & Wesson 686-6 Plus (.357 Magnum) Kimber Custom LW Shadow Ghost (.45 acp) RIA Rock Series 1911 FS Matte Nickel (.45 acp) Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 (.22LR) Stag Arms Stag 15 Tactical (5.56/.223) RIA AG Pump Action Shotgun (12ga) We are still looking into a nice Bolt-Action and/or possibly an AK variant. Something with some wood furniture would be nice.

One more thing - keep refreshing the appointments page on the MVC website. Cancellations happen and you may be able to grab an appointment sooner. Also, new appointments are added between 11:30pm and midnight so it may be worth checking again then too. I needed an appointment to add an M endorsement to my DL and there were none available. As in not any, at all, not even far into the future. By refreshing the appointment page I was able to snag one an hour away from my home within a day. I took the drive because it was better than never getting it done. 3 weeks later I got a reply to the query I submitted to MVC asking how to book an appointment when they weren't offering any and the reply was completely useless. Good luck

You do not need a drivers license at all to get your FPIC. You need to supply proof of ID and proof of address. An NJ drivers license satisfies both these things in a single document so is used out of convenience by most. However, proof of ID can be established with a passport which is valid country wide and does not show your address. Your out of State DL is also proof of ID, but not proof of address and will likely confuse whoever is processing your application. Proof of address can be satisfied with a property tax bill, a valid property rental agreement or a utility bill. I am not sure of your circumstances, but if you are temporarily renting while you find your permanent home, don't bother starting the process - you will just have to do it all over again when you move.

They are of the same ilk as the "South shall rise again" crowd. Living in the past. In fact, I'm pretty sure calling it Taylor Ham is racist.

I think you can order them on Walmart.com and have them shipped to your local store. At least you used to be able to. I did this once a few years ago, they would not ship them to my house…had to do in store pickup. Odd.

Some Walmarts will carry them. Shooter's in LEH carries them, as does Cheyenne in Bordentown, but it looks like they're a distance from you. Likewise Pineland in Jackson & Salomon in Farmingdale.

@ltcap (and others who may be reading) - word to the wise: in the future, you should post a topic like this in one of the appropriate public-facing forums! The 1A Lounge is for topics that are political or that otherwise don't fit in to the rest of the forum's areas. The main reason I'm saying this is that I happen to know that we have a LOT of posters - some who are VERY knowledgeable about firearms - who never (or rarely) go into the 1A Lounge... for a whole host of reasons... because they don't like politics, they don't like the general demeanor of the crowd, etc. Some posters don't even put in the 1A password - they just ignore this particular forum entirely. So, you'll actually get MORE eyes on gun-related topics it if you post them elsewhere.

Tell me about it. Especially with a wife who's goal is to see how many range days she can cram into a month.

John Taylor was born in Hamilton Square, New Jersey on October 6, 1836. Taylor formed the Taylor Provisions Company in 1888 and created Taylor Pork Roll. The product was originally called Taylor's Prepared Ham, but Taylor was forced to change the name after the product failed to meet the new guidelines as to the definition of "ham" established by the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. He also founded the Taylor Opera House in Trenton, New Jersey and served in the New Jersey Senate. Taylor passed away on February 10, 1909 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery in Trenton, New Jersey.

I always do. Just get all the factory grease off and put a nice layer of new gun oil.

Not a bad year. You need a .22 handgun.

There is no NJ statute that defines a knife by size. If you carry a knife every day you just need an explainable lawful purpose. There is no limit to what lawful purpose you use, so long is it is not self defense. My knife is used to open boxes frequently and there is tape residue on it which could be proof if it is ever challenged. Your knife has a seat belt cutting blade at the back of the handle - perfectly lawful in case of emergency.
