Although perhaps she's more of a converted progressive now. It's Naomi Wolf, a former darling of the left who has classically gained wisdom as she has aged. Thus awakened, she has written as full throated a defense of the 2nd Amendment as I have seen anywhere, cast in contrast to her former progressive views. And includes a full explanation of why it's needed more today than ever before. You need to read this. "The last thing keeping us free in America, as the lights go off all over Europe- and Australia, and Canada - is, yes, we must face this fact, the Second Amendment. I can’t believe I am writing those words. But here we are and I stand by them." Rethinking the Second Amendment (substack.com) Cross posted on PAFOA.

They make such a big deal about AR's when more people are killed with ILLEGAL handguns every year, but they refuse to properly punish the poor underprivileged members of society who commit these crimes.

I have an original Colt 1860 Army, all matching #s. Made in January 1862. Not in bad shape for 160 years old. Bore is clean with sharp rifling. Anyone know the value of this? See pics belo. @CAL. .30 M1 @GRIZ

Reading another post in a different NJGF forum reminded me that there have ALREADY been several drownings in NJ this season. How tragic... it seems it's already shaping up to be a bad one. So, I'm resurrecting this thread - please read the article in the original post. Everyone should be familiar with what the signs of drowning actually look like & be vigilant, particularly when young children are involved. Whether the swimmer is in the ocean, a lake, or a pool, drowning is a huge risk factor during this warm weather as more people get into the water. Who knows?... perhaps being more familiar with how drowning actually appears might just save a life!

Saw this. Very good read. Nice to see some red-pilling taking place among the left.

Yup, going to use the "25 zero at 10 yards" target recommended in the videos you linked: KC Pistol_Rifle 10yd Zero Target (1.5 Mount) V2.pdf

Some more advice on one of the biggest mistakes I see a new archer making on game animals. If you get busted (animal is aware of your presence or very jittery), do not force a shot. "Jumping the string" is real and results in many fatally injured animals never being recovered.

Who cares about evidence? The less impactful the laws the better! This is all to rile up political divide, so whether they pass or fail they still win. And then ultimately, the people will fight to have their own rights revoked when it's not doing enough.

Proposed gun control measures lack empirical evidence they reduce crimes, experts say (yahoo.com)

The govt owns LC and pays Winchester/Olin to operate it, under contract. So there is a possibility they could try to push Olin around but they have to respect their agreements…if this commercial revenue stream is protected in Olin’s contract somewhere there’s no way they’ll just let it go and any contract mod is guaranteed to cost the USG dearly

They didn't do it when they had control. I thought they might have pretended to push it as a compromise this time around since they know it has a snowball's chance, but they don't even care enough to pretend in going through the motions.

This is that same train of thought that resulted in the handgun ban in the UK. They knew that criminals were by far the most likely to commit a crime with a gun, but darn it! The criminals refused to register themselves! So the politicians took guns from law abiding people who had registered them, even though they were the least likely to misuse them. This explains it all:

One more thing...that "zero parallax" optic...isn't.

untill relatively recently, i believe the handgun was the tool of choice......

    • Machining on the housing of the dot could be off • Placement of mounting holes in the slide or on the dot could be machined incorrectly • Alignment of the glass in the housing could be off • Machining of the mounting pocket in the slide could be off • Bosses/lugs could be off • Front sight placement hole could be off • You could have an undiagnosed eye issue • Bad mounting plate (if you are using one) Those are just a few. There are dozens of interfaces between the optic and the slide and the irons and the slide that could have variances near the extreme end of acceptable tolerances, or even outside accepted tolerances. Combine a couple of those inconsistencies and when the errors are stacked, weird shit happens! I have some dot guns that are right on, the dot sits precisely at the tip of the iron sight. Others are higher or lower, left or right. Now, this will really make your head hurt - you may have different zeros now, but that may change over time. In a year, as your ability with the dot gets better, you may even see your zero change to be closer to irons, as you are not having to dial in corrective windage or elevation changes to compensate for other deficiencies. In the end, all that matters is: You hit what you are aiming at right now.

Yes, but completely expected. You can't forget that for Republicans (read: RINOS) 'compromise' is a one way street that leads to Democrats.
  22. 1 point
It is disturbing that Republicans aren't puttng National Reciprocity in the Senate bill. That would at least give the impression of a give and take compromise, which of course would need to include nonresident licenses.

I've done some Incident response for Ransomware and it pays very well. 80+ hours in a weeks work at $120/hour and ends start meeting like a mofo. I'm not working with that company any more though...they went a bit sideways and being most recent in, I'm most recent gone. No biggie. Bought my $12000 bike with one paycheck. I've been spending most of my time renovating. Installing a Mr Cool AC mini today. Working on flooring. I also do handyman work around here in The Villages. Lots of old people who can't do anything, so I do it. Pays for dinner out. I honestly don't miss the rat race. All I know is my electric, water and internet bills are it. No heating bills. I'm not burning up a car every 5 years I'm not burning $300+ in fuel every month. Didn't spend $2000 heating the house over the winter. Didn't line NJ's pockets with $8500 in property taxes. The list goes on. Of course, when I run out of money it's a different issue...but we'll cross that bridge later.

And they change often, with zone additions or deletions, open/closed seasons, etc.

You are not half as confused as the people who wrote those laws.
