4 points^^^^THIS! Superior Court Judges still have to actually try cases and not just hold ccw hearings. NJSP Superintendent Callahan was quoted as expecting 200 THOUSAND applicants to come outta the woodwork, so.... I feel that they (Superior Court Judges) themselves will say to the legislature, "Sorry, you'll have to find someone else to do this!"...and the system will morph from what we have now---going up against a County Prosecutor---to more of a "Shall Issue" arrangement and the CLEO's will be the last word. The same CLEO's that hate guns and stall permits to purchase... EVERYBODY NEEDS TO CALM THE EFFF DOWN and wait for Schmutter & Bach to come up with the Road Map. Everything else is just BULLSHIT at this point and a waste of time dealing with "What-If's"........ ~R

1 pointNow that we are past major hurdle (of justifiable need), lets talk about potential costs. Looking at the RPO process just as a guide line: 1. Yearly renewal application fees ($50 +) 2. Qualification/Certification twice a year ($250+?) 3. Fingerprinting fees with every renewal ($100?) So we are looking at around $500 (plus whatever the NJ is going to throw when the dust settles) every year for the privilege of exercising a Constitutional Right ? https://www.nj.gov/njsp/firearms/firearms-faqs.shtml

1 pointThanks, great suggestion. I do have Talon grips on mine and glad I installed them. They have held up perfectly. However I have large hands and even with it, the G43's slim profile directly impacts the base of my thumb where the arthritis is.

1 pointBefore anyone can actually exercise their right to carry, NJ will ban all guns.

1 pointDo I need a license to help a child to fish? That depends on the level of assistance. For baiting a hook or netting and unhooking a fish, a license is not required. If you cast, retrieve or fight the fish for a child, a license is required. This is found on pg 11 of the 2020 NJ Freshwater Fishing Digest, although it is not mentioned in the 2022 digest. 1 pointThis ^^^ The problem is finding someone to just run you through the HQC if they aren't personally familiar with your skill level.

1 pointThere is still a very long way to go until we see NJ residents getting their CCW permits. The whole process of having a judge make the final decision is, in my eyes, a big issues as judges will continue to deny folks. The next SCOTUS battle should be the entire permitting process. No person should need a permit to exercise a Constitutional Right.

1 pointThey can easily use FARS to get an application started by using it for the initial background check, as done when applying for a purchase permit. That would at least eliminate the trip to Morpho. I've never had to use a level 2 or 3 holster to carry concealed. The "concealment" adds an extra layer of retention. The few times I've carried openly I used a lever 2. My sidearms tend to be in the rare or collectable category, so I prefer Safariland holsters with the suede lining. They protect the finish of the sidearm and are only about $40. I believe the model is 5196.

1 pointNo CCW in Restaurants huh? Does A-Hole Murphy mean restaurants like the Luby's In Texas where a gunman killed 23 people in 1991 and the push for concealed carry got started after a woman left her gun in the car because she didn't want to risk losing her chiropractic license and her parents were both murdered?
-
1 pointBy the time Murphy and his Apparatchiks get through identifying all the places concealed carry is NOT allowed we'll be back to transporting firearms unloaded in the trunk of the car..

1 pointPosted in the other thread about the Bruen decision thread...I called then went down to my local PD and they were pretty much ready with a packet they told me was updated this morning. They removed the justifiable need and resume requirement (remnant from assumed security guard need), and told me they were aware of the ruling. However they told me it typically goes to the county judge who they inquired as of this morning was unaware of the ruling and stated he would deny all applications. The officer told me he expected that answer to change by next Tuesday morning and told me they suspect that they will probably push for the approval to be done either by local PD or NJSP once they see the deluge of applications that threaten to overwhelm the judge. Coming is integration into FARS. I have the packet and my only question is there is 3 references on the application which is to be filled in triplicate, so do it looks like I will need to visit each of my references in turn to complete the applications. Only weird thing is I also have the pistol permit form in there as well, not sure why I need that unless I'm buying another pistol (never a bad idea...). Also waiting on what training course comes up that I can take to satisfy the qualification part of the process...

1 pointIt was more of a limit on proper holster choices....... If the choice is between a reliable comfortable holster without the light, and a barely-functional uncomfortable holster with a WML on - I'd most likely go for the holster without a light first until I find a good one that fits well.

1 pointThere is a Murphy and AG presser today. All the 2A lawyers are plotting and planning. Thomas wrote a BRILLIANT decision and we are on track. Just cool down for a week or so. Way too many unknowns yet. Ant

0 pointsFor my latest renewal, I told the PD that my prints had just been run thru FARS for a Permit to Purchase. They checked with the County and were told that a fresh set of prints had to be run through Morpho specifically for Permit to Carry. I got the new number from my PD and executed the Morpho trip. When the PD got the results about 2 weeks later they forwarded them to the County and the application was processed.

0 pointsHad breakfast this morning with a friend from Delaware. As part of their CCW process, he was required to run week long post in the Notice section of a local newspaper stating that he was applying for a Permit to Carry a Handgun and that anyone with a reason to object should contact the PD number provided.
