The default should be carry not disallowed unless the owner specifically disallows. And if the owner disallows you shouldn't be hit with an automatic felony gun charge. You as a business owner have the right to ask an armed patron to leave and then charging them with armed trespass if they refuse. That is how it should work. But making every place by default a gun free zone unless the owner says it's not is silly and unconstitutional.

I qualified at Reloaderz. This is the exact policy they emailed to us before the course was taken: Qualifying Guns: The qualification form is currently limited to 4 serial guns. You may qualify with two-gun types (this limit is to prevent the qualification from taking too long) hammer-fire striker fire revolver You only have to shoot one course of fire with one gun of a respective category in order to be qualified for several guns of the same category. So it is possible to qualify you for 4 guns after shooting just one course of fire (if they are all the same firearm type). Example: if you have a Glock 17, a Glock 19, and a Sig Sauer P320, if you pass with one of them, we will qualify you for all three, despite only shooting one of them. This is because all three of the aforementioned handguns belong to the same category: striker-fired handguns. Example: If you have a revolver and a hammer-fired gun, you will have to conduct two separate courses of fire, as they belong to different categories. Disclaimer: Again, the instructor conducting the qualification has full discretion, as the liability is assumed by them. If the instructor deems two handguns of the same category are not substantially similar, either due to caliber, size, or some other factor, then he or she has the authority to require you to shoot an additional course of fire if the time permits it.

AOW Does not require a brace. What it requires is not having a stock. It’s an important distinction. An AOW is basically an “other firearm” that doesn’t meet the overall length requirements.

Can anyone point to an official release as a document (on letterhead, signed, dated etc.) or a post on the state websites from either the NJSP or the AG that countermands the statute 2C:58-4? No? Then the statute stands until someone officially says otherwise. Hearsay and unattributed letters, memos and rumors don't count. 2C:58-4 Permits to carry handguns. 2C:58-4. a. Scope and duration of authority. Any person who holds a valid permit to carry a handgun issued pursuant to this section shall be authorized to carry a handgun in all parts of this State, except as prohibited by subsection e. of N.J.S.2C:39-5. One permit shall be sufficient for all handguns owned by the holder thereof, but the permit shall apply only to a handgun carried by the actual and legal holder of the permit.

So far, Woolwich has been good. The police clerk had an info sheet ready with directions and Identogo info on it. I'm waiting for the range to complete my qual paperwork, and then I'll submit. I'll post an update on how the submission process goes.

Passed with my 2 guns this morning at Gun For Hire. Was pretty easy. They have a nice facility, it was my first time there. Now I have to figure out the next time I am in NJ so I can do my fingerprints.

I have the ALG, PNT, SSA-E, MBT2s, RRA2stage I have also polished milspec triggers that break clean at 3.5-4lbs, down from 7-8lbs. Polishing AR triggers is actually really simple with ceramic polishing stones, and a Dremel polishing wheel.. its incredibly difficult to remove enough material to make the trigger unsafe, or change its dimensions with these tools, but still possible. Best bang for buck single stage? The polished milspec triggers. Drop in, would be the BCM PNT, the ALG is just a slightly more expensive version. I can't justify spending 70+ bucks on a single stage if I have GI triggers in the drawer and 20minutes of time to just hone the surfaces to a shine. I'm convinced the ALG and PNT are just mass produced GI triggers with a smooth coating surface.. I'd rather put the money towards a 2stage.

This is a funny post...who says "Taylor Ham"?! is that like canadian bacon? CTFU ..never even heard of a pork roll till I moved to South Jersey, and they love it out here w/ that slushy high fructose corn syrup drink aka BOOST lol. I'm originally from NY where the BACON egg & cheese on seeded kaiser roll reigns supreme.

I called Reloaderz, in north Jersey, to ask about an option to qualify with more than one gun, since they don't list that option on their website. I was told that if the guns are substantially similar (both revolvers, both striker fired, both hammer fired) you can qualify with one and they'll list both the permit. They want you to bring in both guns with proof of ownership, though. I've not actually gone there to qualify, I don't know if you can push beyond the two gun limit, or how flexible they are on 'substantially similar'. For example could one qualify with a big honking G34 and then have a little G43 listed on the permit as well? They shoot the full HQC-1 course, and while any of the little defensive guns should be accurate enough to keep all shots on the Q target, it does get easier to do so at 25 yards if you have the extra sight radius.

Honestly WTF is with the f ing hearing. these liberal aholes are trying to make it as difficult as possible to exercise your rights. Jump through hoops to have to go in front of a judge for what? So they can determine your moral character? The legal system is about as immoral as it gets and they get to judge our morality . fkn joke
  29. 1 point
Yeah. That. If there is no extra charge, the worst case is you get free practice time. The best case is you get a qualification cert. Either way, you won't have to deal with that instructor after one more session.

"We got our a** kicked by SCOTUS and we are sending this a** kicking down to district court so they can swallow pride and rule the mag ban unconstitutional". I am not a lawyer, but looks like its now District Court who need to rule mag ban as unconstitutional - i.e People get back to "normal" capacity mags like rest of the USA.

He sounds like a huckster, but if he's willing to bring you in and complete the 5 shot revolver qual free of charge then it might be worth it. If there's any additional charge (at all) I'd say bail and go to Shooters.

If the NJSP is telling gun shops that you can qualify with one gun, then it's that's the policy decision. They are the ones, at the direction of the state legislature, who have written the ccw regulations. Wouldn't they be in the driver's seat on this until the legislators write a new law with different direction?

That's just the slogan... doesn't mean it's the actual product name. It says the product name right there is "Taylor Pork Roll". They acknowledge the name used to be Ham but they had to change it. You don't call products by their original names once they changed... otherwise 7UP would still be Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda, Nissans aren't called Datsuns. Visa's not still called BankAmericard.

Thanks. That doesn’t sound too bad.. Its unfortunate that the permit is only valid 2 years, and you have to go through all that shit again.
