2 pointsBig update for Ocean County. Called the court. Talked to the Judges Law Clerk. Once she approves them she then sends them back to local PD for local PD to deliver to us. He didn’t see my name in her list she currently needs to approve, but he said that could be because she may have already approved it and sent back to local PD. He said call back in a couple weeks if I hadn’t heard anything but they are approving them! Super nice guy and very helpful!

2 pointsWell, I received some great news today, I am scheduled for my hearing with the judge on August 25th.

1 pointHey guys, I live in central/north NJ (exit 137 on GSP) and I’m looking for a competent gunsmith who can install my two (already purchased) rmr mounts on both a Kimber Micro 9 and a SW Bodyguard 380. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’m not in a super rush but would love to have them done in 3-4 weeks, at the longest (if beggars can be choosers). thanks!

1 pointThank you for the offer. Very kind. I have a reg VP9, S&W M&P both 9mm and a Walther PPQ in .22 if anyone wants to shoot em. Time to put in for some pistol permits. I have my eye on a wheel gun as well

1 pointWhat I heard and read is, 60 days for the PD (law / admin code) and 30 days for courts (courts directive from 2019). How long its been since your app was sent to court ?

1 pointYou would be an idiot to not put either the lump sum or annuity payments into a Trust. Gift tax ain't nothing to play with when looking at that kinda cash.
-
1 pointJust wanted to share... I asked Woolwich PD if I should submit 1.5" photos like the app requests, or the normal 2" passport photos. The clerk responded, "get passport photos, they can cut them as needed."

1 pointNRA is trying to make a buck off this. They supported enough gun laws. Either they get aggressive with pushing back and stop feeding more sh*t into the laws or they should go out of business.

1 pointNice to see the good guy winning for a change!

1 pointIf this happens, it will be nice to reunite with a box of mags that I had to exile out of state.

1 pointNo one thought (A) SCOTUS would give us the decision we got. Read some of the comments in the forums, they are laughable now, ha and (B) the NJAG would send out a directive the very next day. Judges do not like to be overturned, it's like being publicly humiliated. They have the cover they need now to keep their progressive creds in tact. This may move faster than we think, we should be hopefully optimistic.

1 pointI believe there was ruling that they had to re-try those cases and do it in a reasonable timeline in the text. IDK.

1 pointI'm actually not bringing back my vacationing AR mags, they are all 15 rounders. Once the mag ban is struck down I'm going shopping. My pistol mags are all "permanently" reduced to 10 rounds. Those will all be unshackled, just need new base plates.

1 pointI had called NJSP to check status on my app. They were waiting on my out of state mental health. I guess they reach out to every state you have lived in to get medical records. I was two weeks plus into my application and no movement due to this. Just letting you all know in case you haven't lived in NJ for the last 10 years they may be waiting on mental health records from other states so this might hold you up a bit.

1 pointAww, dont be an anti baconite bro. Come on man....., we are an inclusive community, accepting of all kinds of weird people these days, it seems. They can't help how they were born. I do not support, but will be tolerant of their lifestyle choices to the degree the law requires. So long as they don't try and put their bacon on my PEC. And JohnnyB with that Scrapple, whoa. Not judging here, but, woah.

1 pointI am pretty sure that the restricted permits were for Security Guards that could only carry while on the job. That may have changed now due to Bruen.
-
1 pointAOW Does not require a brace. What it requires is not having a stock. It’s an important distinction. An AOW is basically an “other firearm” that doesn’t meet the overall length requirements.

1 pointKeep your bacon out of this, And we’ll keep this out of your bacon. Go start you own bacon thread you uncultured swine.

1 pointJust so you know, that wasn't my experience at Shooters in Little Egg Harbor earlier this week. The instructor was very nice, easy to like, and generally agreeable. The course of fire was not difficult but the instructor felt that there was a need to put everyone under pressure. Not sure why. There was some yelling, time limits, two shot and three shot drills. Commands to "holster" frequently which were handled by laying your gun on the counter - no actual holsters. There was no time set aside to reload, you had to reload as you were being kind-of yelled at to shoot "three more rounds" or whatever the drill of the moment was. I had a compact .380 since I thought you needed to qualify with what you carried and only had two 6 round mags. I struggled to keep up and missed taking a few shots. To be fair, the yelling wasn't drill-sargent-in-your-face style yelling but I don't know why it was needed at all. It was also difficult to hear commands over the shooting with electric ear protection because every shot shuts down your ear muffs for half a second and we were shooting fast so you could probably only hear 1/3 of the time. Shots were taken at lots of different distances and I don't think we actually shot out to 15 yards, probably closer to 10 or 11yds max. I think we shot 30 rounds according to the ammo left in my box but I didn't count so I'm guessing. Everyone passed. I saw everyone else's target and never counted hits but I think the instructor may have been generous in scoring. That said, after the shooting, which I didn't particularly enjoy, the instructor was once again very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We could put up to 4 handguns on the forms and as I said, everyone passed. If you're going to shooters I recommend: (1) arrive 15 minutes early to pay - the class starts on time! (2) Bring the serial numbers of the guns you want to include on the form. You can't uncase your guns in the classroom and you won't have time in the range to write the numbers down, (3) Bring enough magazines to shoot 30 rounds and start loading them as soon as you get into the range. You won't have much time before the shooting starts.

1 pointHere's the exception to 2C:58-4 above: N.J. Admin. Code § 13:54-2.7 - Issuance of a permit to carry a handgun (a) Upon being satisfied of the sufficiency of the application and the fulfillment of the provisions of P.L. 1979, c. 58, the judge shall issue a permit. The issuing Superior Court judge shall return the original permit to carry a handgun along with the application endorsed by the issuing Superior Court judge, to the jurisdiction of origin. (b) The court may, at its discretion, issue a limited type permit which would restrict the applicant as to the types of handguns he or she may carry and where and for what purposes such handguns may be carried. (c) The Superintendent shall be provided with copies of all permits to carry handguns issued or re-issued by the Superior Court. And I don't think we know yet if the permits issued by the court will have restrictions listed on them. But, I agree. As long as the judge doesn't restrict what we can carry, we can carry any handgun.

1 pointNice explanation. I can't wait to start ordering me some 30 round mags.
-
1 point"We got our a** kicked by SCOTUS and we are sending this a** kicking down to district court so they can swallow pride and rule the mag ban unconstitutional". I am not a lawyer, but looks like its now District Court who need to rule mag ban as unconstitutional - i.e People get back to "normal" capacity mags like rest of the USA.
-
1 pointI see that as a mixed bag. It's good it's scheduled virtually to reduce the impact to one's regular schedule, but I see it as yet another tactic to make it difficult and deter people. I would have trouble making time in my work schedule. No hearing should be required at all. Hope it goes well, looking forward to an update.
-
1 pointIf the instructor didn't give you any time to reload off the clock, he's not being reasonable. I'm assuming he was aware that you were running a 5-shot revolver? I would suggest not giving him any more money - there are lots of other options out there.

1 pointAh, yes, the infamous 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, sprung from the loony left coast. I don't know how they've not yet been required to clear the bench and start over with smarter justices. This year, 16 of their rulings went up to the Supreme Court. 15 were overturned. Still, a better average than in 1985 when they had a stunning 25 of 26 rulings overturned by the Supreme Court. Their average reversal rate over the last 15 year? 79% So yeah, a monkey flipping a coin would do statistically much better than the 29 esteemed justices of the 9th circuit. The embarrassing 9th Circuit Court of Appeals

0 pointsI don't play lotteries. To me that's like betting I'll be struck by lightening a number of times. But I saw all the hoopla about the 'billion dollar prize' last week, which was won by a single ticket. "Billion dollar prize"? LOL Maybe for the governments.
