3 pointsClick-bait titles drive me insane. There's just a wee bit of context left out here... DEFENDANTS, as in, INDICTED but NOT CONVICTED. They're not FELONS. We're still, at least on paper, innocent until found guilty in a court of law here in the US.
-
3 pointsI thought it was belonging to Democrat Party that disqualified gun ownership in New Jersey.

2 pointsNamesake of landmark Supreme Court case scores another Second Amendment win in DC (washingtonexaminer.com) "In his June 30 lawsuit , Heller said the city's regulation preventing concealed carry license holders from carrying more than 20 rounds of ammunition at a time was unconstitutional due to a lack of historic precedent." ------ I'll ask it again. Why have crap like this in place? Criminals don't follow the law.

2 pointsI don't know if this is a general hack, or if I just got lucky, but after I was unable to book an appointment in NJ, I called the IdentoGO scheduling number. They can look out more than the 7 days allowed by the website. They still didn't show anything in NJ until mid-Oct. He said the earliest available in Springfield was Oct 13. So I reluctantly accepted an afternoon appointment in Chester, NY a week from now. I received the confirming email, clicked the 'reschedule' link, re-entered my NJ zip code, and suddenly there were a lot of open NJ appointments for firearms fingerprinting, 70 or 80 in Springfield, as early as tomorrow. So I rescheduled for after work on Thursday. Saved $40, an hour less driving, and I don't have to miss work. It may be that once you have an out-of-state appointment, and reschedule for NJ, the software interprets the out-of-state appointment to mean you don't live in NJ, and so it unlocks all of the appointments that had been hidden. It's worth a try, if you are having trouble getting an appointment. If it works for you, let us know!

2 pointsI have brought this up in other forums, Pro- American governors in 2A friendly states should stop recognizing driver's licenses from certain states without first applying for and getting a " non-resident" driver's permit for that state. States that do not properly vet the applicant for a driver's license should not be accepted as a legitimate form of ID. You know the ones who issue them to criminal aliens with no SSN or legal documents to be in this country. Turn their laws around on them, make those citizens go through the same shit we have to go through to carry a gun. Make them go to a "driver's license reciprocity " website to see what the laws are and what states they can travel in.

2 pointsGood news for the moment. The Monmouth county prosecutor's office has backed down on the shortened list of conditions they were attempting to get applicants to sign off on.
-
2 pointsI think what the one guy commented is best. Do not agree to any restrictions. Vocalize your intent to sue.

2 pointsQuit it with the sniping , flaming and name calling - grow up. Does it matter where people look? This info was gleaned from all over - the more info we get the better so we have a clearer picture of what's happening. It looks like I have to update the map again as Salem County is approving permits.

2 pointsYour civic duty is to your fellow citizens, not the court. Your beef is with the state legislators, not the citizens. Those who dodge jury duty don’t deserve a jury.

1 pointThis is clearly a positive as no one can now CHARGE a felony in order to take away guns.
-
1 pointI had no issue reading the title it says felony "defendants". I dont see how this would lead to anything considered "backlash", if anything we should be arguing with the judge that until due process is completed the individual retains their rights... they can still vote under indictment after all.

1 pointI signed up for LawShield last week, at $130 a year I just couldn't resist...But are you implying that LawShield is also participating in NJ to get rid of these carry-restrictions (I didn't think they get involved in such things)?
-
1 pointI share your concern with the current state of the NRA; that being said, I believe ANJRPC is a viable organization on its own that has effective advocacy in NJ *despite* their NRA ties. Since you're a member of US Law Shield, you're paying ~$150 annually in fees. About another $100 annually will get you a membership to BOTH ANJRPC and CNJFO. If you have to choose only one, then I'd give a slight nod to ANJRPC as they are more established, (and if you're in Northern NJ, access to the Cherry Ridge range is worthwhile), however CNJFO also does good work.

1 pointBREAKING! MONMOUTH CO. CCW APPLICANTS IN A JAM! ANJRPC LAWYER DAN SCHMUTTER ADVISES TO LAWYER-UP! by Black Wire Media Mon. Sept. 19, 2022 www.cnjfo.com/join-us UPDATE! UPDATE FROM DAN SCHMUTTER! The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office contacted us to tell us that they are no longer requesting that applicants agree to conditions on their permits. NEW IMPORTANT REQUEST FROM DAN SCHMUTTER: If you are contacted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office (OR any OTHER AGENCY in ANY COUNTY--Editor) and told that your application is being forwarded to the judge, can you please ask them to confirm that they will copy you simultaneously with their letter to the judge? Also, when they send you their letter to the judge, can you please forward it right away to the ANJRPC Permitting Strikeforce email: [email protected] We think it’s potentially very important what they say to the judge in their cover letter and how they characterize the submission. Thank you. --------------Yesterday's FULL STORY BELOW!-------- Daniel Schmutter, lead Counsel for the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs, announced an hour ago the results of communications with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office concerning handgun carry permit restrictions. Although we're saddened by this news, it's not surprising given the obvious panic attack that our overlords in Trenton have been going through since June 23rd when the Bruen decision was announced! The first group of carry permit applicants in Monmouth County were GIVEN UNTIL TOMORROW to decide whether or not to go along with the UNNAMED restrictions or NOT, including the possibility of not carrying a loaded handgun in ANY vehicle you're in, thus RENDERING the PERMIT itself almost USELESS! From Attorney Daniel Schmutter: On behalf of the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (“ANJRPC”) I spoke with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office regarding their recent contact with some handgun carry permit applicants requesting that the applicants agree to certain restrictions and conditions on their permits. Here's what the Prosecutor’s Office told us: First, they indicated that none of the applicants contacted are required to agree to the requested conditions. Second, they indicated that if applicants do not agree to the requested conditions, they do not intend to oppose the application, and they do not intend to request conditions from the judge deciding the permit application. However, the Prosecutor’s Office does intend to specifically advise the judge that the applicant did not agree to any conditions. This is in contrast to simply saying nothing to the judge. Third, they indicated that they believe that if an applicant does not agree to some or all of their requested conditions, the judge may impose even more conditions. However, they could not predict whether or not the judge might impose more conditions anyway even if the applicant does agree to the requested conditions. The Prosecutor’s Office did not offer guarantees either way of what the judge might or might not do. Fourth, they indicated that they have asked the first group of applicants contacted to decide by Tuesday September 20, 2022 what they wish to do regarding the requested conditions. While we can report what they told us, we cannot vouch for the truthfulness of their statements to us. Their implication is that applicants who do not consent to their requested conditions may face more stringent conditions imposed by the judge, but they did not attempt to guarantee what the judge will actually do either way. Applicants who have been contacted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office may wish to directly and independently verify with that office the information above, and address any other questions directly with the individual at the Prosecutor’s Office who contacted you, before deciding whether or not to accept their requested conditions. Applicants MAY WISH TO RETAIN AN ATTORNEY to assist with any aspect of this process, whether to communicate with the Prosecutor’s Office regarding any questions, to address timing issues, to obtain advice about whether or not to agree to any conditions, to negotiate the quantity or specific language of the requested conditions, to advise on what the judge may or may not do based on what the applicant chooses to do, or any other aspect of this process. THIS MESSAGE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE -- you should only rely on advice from an attorney retained by YOU". EDITOR'S NOTE: So, there it is folks. Our Governor lives in Monmouth County, and he hates GUNZ ('cept those carried by his security detail that is)! As more news becomes available, we'll be sharing it with our readers! ---The Editor #CNJFO #2A #2AHeavyLifters #2AShallNotBeInfringed #gun #guns #2amendment #firearmsafety #ANJRPC

1 pointThat's great that the prosecutor's office is no longer looking to coerce people to agree to have additional restrictions, but I don't think it has any bearing on whether the judge will still issue with "no car"-type restrictions or not.

1 pointOh please like the NJ republican party is really any better. What about that lardass whale Chris Christie? Or any of the other "republicans" that got voted in...they were prompt at putting an end to the crap with the loss of gun rights, right? Jack I believe got a B or B+ from the NRA which while better than bucky he might have prevented some of these new idiot laws, however he wouldn't have relaxed any gun laws. Singh might have managed to relax a few things but he never made it to the running. Face it, its like part of the oath these clowns take is is they must stomp on gun owners rights.

1 pointI would hope contact to the court by an attorney would be enough. But who knows. If formal legal action needs to be taken to make the court act, that needs to be thought out very carefully as the first case could set precedent for all future cases. Seriously, the first case should include as plaintiffs a wounded and decorated Veteran confined to a wheel chair, an elderly person who was critically injured in a robbery, a homosexual who has been the victim of gay bashing, a Muslim who was beat up because of their religion, a black who was beat up because of their race, a woman who was raped, and/or a battered woman seeking to defend herself against an abusive ex-spouse. ^^^ The above is not a joke. As some may recall, the Heller plaintiffs included a gay man who had defended himself from gay bashing in another state with a gun given to him by his mother, and a guard at the U.S. Capital, who was trusted with a firearm to protect members of Congress but who was not allowed to purchase a handgun to protect himself at home. Unfortunately, optics matter.
-
1 pointHonestly your only hurting the defendant vs the overreaching state.... Imagine some BS gun charge like someone caught with a loose hollow point in their car.... As a juror YOU could protect a defendant's constitutional rights from state overreach with your vote. But now the poor defendant will have to face a bundle of anti gun, uber liberals.... Yes jury duty is a pain in the ass and every time I've been selected fortunately I haven't had to go however I would have, and I would have upheld the US constitution.
-
1 pointYou can add Sussex to the list of counties that are just sitting on applications and not approving. I called the court today and they told me that they are “waiting on guidance or something” and haven’t approved any permits and that the applications are just sitting in a box. I have notified strikeforce and Dan Schmutter is on it.

1 pointAfter each shot you must reload the case with a single stage press.

1 pointYep...Least we forget, freedom cost money, I hope everyone is a member of ANJRPC and donates even beyond the measly $40 dues...Of course I am an NRA member also, but IMO, I give ANJRPC the priority, they do great work considering how the odds are stacked against 2A in NJ...But the SCOTUS gave us a 2A "BOOSTER-SHOT" in June so things will change for the better from here.

0 pointsUpdate from Berkeley Township PD As of yesterday, 4 permits have been returned, approved, to the pd from ocean county superior court. These are the first 4 permits to be issued out of Berkeley Township, and it was confirmed that each of the 4 permits do have the attached list of 12 orders that include the "cannot carry in or on any motor vehicle" restriction.

0 pointsThen he should have called the court! I called the court 3 times, and I got the info I needed. I know exactly when my application was received, I know who cashes the money orders and I know the date my money order was cashed. Whining to Strike Force may not be the most effective course of action.

0 pointsLOL seriously you need lawshield to tell you how to get out of jury duty? Jury duty is the most basic and easy thing to avoid and I got perm removed from the jury duty pool with one simple statement Just tell them you will use Jury nullification and nullify. Watch how fast they dismiss you and you'll probably never be selected again. I was selected once about 10+ years ago. I told them I dont have time for this crap and the second im selected the DA will get a loss as I will nullify just out of spite for wasting my time. I was told I was dismissed and didn;t have to show up and have never seen another jury duty slip again. Before anyone spouts that its your "civic duty" blah blah yea just like its their duty to uphold and support the constitution and here we are now still begging to carry (all that money spent and the permit is only good for a laughable 2 years) and they are still playing games with the permits and restrictions. As far as im concerned its only fair to do on to them as they do on to us

0 pointsWorse, an Apple user. The image files are in Apple's proprietary format. Most browsers do not support the format, so they have to be converted to jpg, or the phone camera has to be set to save images in jpg format.
