“Californians have the constitutional right to acquire and use state-of-the-art handguns to protect themselves.". BREAKING NEWS ON BOLAND V BONTA OUT OF THE U.S. DISTRICT COURT, CENTRAL DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA SOUTHERN DIVISION: CALIFORNIA HANDGUN ROSTER RULED UNCONSTITUTIONAL! In a decision sure to rock California’s anti-gun politicians, United States District Judge Cormac J. Carney just issued a decision that has struck down the state’s “Handgun Roster” – declaring that “Californians have the constitutional right to acquire and use state-of-the-art handguns to protect themselves. They should not be forced to settle for decade-old models of handguns to ensure that they remain safe inside or outside the home.” To read the full decision, click HERE. To watch an analysis of the ruling by Anthony Miranda, the Armed Scholar, click HERE. The decision goes on to read “The Second Amendment enshrines a fundamental constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms for self-defense. Increasingly in modern times, with “the ubiquity of guns and our country’s high level of gun violence,” ordinary law-abiding people feel a need to possess handguns to protect themselves against violence.” The Roster will be officially invalidated in 14 days; this gives the State of California (Attorney General Rob Bonta) time to request an emergency stay by the 9th Circuit court of appeals. Thanks to the 2022 Bruen decision, it is no longer a sure thing that the 9th will issue such a stay. Kudos to our 2A partners at CRPA for filing the suit. This topic seemed apropos for National Women's History Month, and one I deemed worthy for my one-post return. This forum used to be a hotbed of competition information and interest. Even the forum's owner was heavily into competition, until he became a father. Kind of sad to see that the interest no longer seems to be there, save for a few hearty souls. What prompted me to make this one-time post is an experience I had yesterday and would love to see repeated often, in the future. I shot in a small IDPA match yesterday at Blue Ridge Cherry Valley in Sciota, PA (froze my ass off, but had a good time). As I said, it was a small match - total of 35 participants shooting 7 stages. What was unique was that slightly more than 25% of the shooters were women - I have never experienced that large a turnout (at a tier 1 match) of female shooters, and it was heartening. This sport - not just competition, but firearms in general - needs more female participation at all levels. I have been shooting competition for more than a decade and while we always had one or two women come out to shoot, I had never seen that large a turnout (percentagewise). I don't know how many female participants there are on this forum, but I would encourage them to get out there and participate in some form of structured shooting. Likewise to the spouses and significant others of the male participants of this board. We need factions from across the spectrum of the general population if we are to survive the liberal full-court press to, literally, do away with the 2A. Adios, Pizza Bob

I rather like a nice, cold Yuengling or Shiner Bock out of a bottle with pork bbq…

It may seem pricey, but quality kit is worth every penny. It’s about value, not always price. Remember - Buy once, cry once.

You definitely do! When Lucas was little (he couldn’t read yet) we passed a Shiner Bock delivery truck making a stop at a local liquor store. He wanted to know what the truck with the TaunTaun on it had inside. I told him “probably a Skywalker” and he giggled like a madman.

Boned, rolled pig meat from Dickmans Rendering and Creaming Company…. The jokes write themselves. I figure this will give something to unite the Pork Rollers and Tayler Hammers.

I oversaw a couple of hundred Glocks from 1978 to 2005. We're talking agents shooting about 1000 rds a year plus so we're talking over a million rounds. Malfunctions, other than limp writing, those were gone early in our transition, could be counted on my fingers and toes. They were always the result of magazines. But what do I know. I've only been shooting Glocks for over 40 years.

Wow, this train really went off the tracks. started with pigs in Canada, morphed into helicopters, submarines, missing airliners and now I guess.....trains too.

NY resident here. I received an e-mail from the NJSP this afternoon informing me that my permit was ready for pickup. I picked it up and the date of issue was 3/14/2023, valid for 2 years. There were no restrictions on which handguns I can carry. The permit is printed on a continuous page that folds over with my photo on the back. There also was printed "Employee of armored car company". I inquired about that and was told that it does not apply to me and that the box next it was not checked. It also said "This card may be laminated". The chronology follows: Oct. 25, 2022 Applied at NJSP Totowa for PTC. Jan. 17, 2023 Sent update request to Totowa SP, auto reply said I would be contacted by court or SP when permit is approved/denied. March 17, 2023 Sent request to NJSP Firearminvestunit, reply same day said my application was received, pending approval/denial. March 20, 2023 Received email from NJSP to come pickup the permit.

Doubtful. Knowing this crew - you’ll likely get offers for many 6 packs of Shiner Bock to try.

Well now... perhaps, there IS some room for mutual disdain of this interloper product? @CMJeepster - what say you? Your effort, @Displaced Texan at attempting to forge detente between two long-warring factions is duly noted.

Well, I believe we can agree... to disagree. Of course, once that happens, subsequently we shall immediately move to opposite corners of the room where we will continue to eye each other suspiciously. Because that's the way it has always been, and that's the way it will always be, between Pork Rollers and Taylor Hammers. It is what it is. Let the battle rage on....

You might want to take a a look at military web gear, LBE. Plenty of that out there. I can only comment on US stuff. Suspenders, ammo pouches, first aid kits, holsters, canteens, and even a butt pack for non-mission essential items. Old school but I've walked thousands of miles with it. Durability? Wore the same set for a year in Vietnam. Left it for someone else to use. You could most likely leave it to your grandchildren.

Nice, these are pricey. This will be a build as I go purchase. I was looking at blue alpha so I'm glad that was suggested. Safariland will also probably be the holster I go with since I can't seem to find another holster for my vp9 with a surefire 300 on it.

Gear should be distributed in a scalable manner. Basics are: 0 line - pockets - the absolute bare necessities 1st line - fighting belt - ability to carry basic fighting equipment 2nd line - plate carrier or chest rig - supplemental gear to continue the fight 3rd line - pack or bag - snivel gear and sustainment For 1st line you want: 1.75” 2 part MOLLE belts (1.5” inner belt goes through your pant loops. Then the outer belt velcros to the inner belt) I like Lead Devil: https://www.leaddevilusa.com/175-belts/tactician-belt-rb2ne-benfp-ljrch and Blue Alpha: https://www.bluealphabelts.com/product/molle-1-75-battle-belt/ You want very stiff belts. It distributes the weight of the gear better and is much more comfortable. If you are adamant about wanting a flaccid belt GCode is the answer: https://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/contact-series-operators-belt-175/ I had the GCode. Went to the Lead Devil, which I really like, when I was tired of having sore hips. I would have stayed with LD but I won a gift certificate for the Blue Alpha at a Modern Samurai Project class. They are basically identical. As for kit on the belt, I like ESSTAC for my ammo pouches (pistol and rifle), Tactical Tailor Fight Light for dumper and multitool pouches, Coyote STOMP for blow out kit, and Safariland for the holster (ALS on low ride with leg strap - not a thigh holster).

I suspect what's happening is that business owners have never seen anyone on their premises with a firearm, so they feel no need to bother putting up signs. They've certainly never heard of anyone committing a crime with a permitted concealed weapon. Business people need to be smarter than politicians in order to survive, so they're less likely to waste effort responding to a problem that doesn't exist. So, carry on! Sure, Murphy is telling businesses to put up signs, but once they've blindly voted for the D, I don't think most democrats pay much attention to him, either.

I think the process for flying with a checked firearm is unchanged. Your PTC won't grant special privileges of any kind once you enter a transportation hub.

That nose-dive type malfunction is almost guaranteed to be a mag issue, in my experience. Glock OEM reduced capacity 10round mags are not known for reliability and the different follower can cause issues. Maybe try replacing the springs with Wolff +10% springs or try Magpul 10round G19 mags. Remember, the Glock relies on the mag spring as part of the extraction/ejection cycle. If the mag springs are weak, you can have a slow down in the ejection process which can lead to feeding issues. I’d also try shooting the 26 with standard OEM G26 mags (add a Pearce +0 Pinky shelf type mag floor-plate to get a full-size grip feel) and see what shakes.
