4 pointsThank you to all the fallen, "This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn't come home”

3 pointsMemorial day is a day of reflection and remembrance of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. I am reminded of the words of General George S. Patton who said: It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

1 pointTrue. But, I wouldn’t open carry in nj as a civilian. Asking for trouble and a scene and a hassle. I live near northern border of Bergen county and there r too many anti gun people here. Police would be called. No doubt in my mind so I’ll conceal.

1 pointDuring the oral argument for the PI this topic came up. The State's side said in their view a transportation hub is where 2 or more modes of public transport come together. E.g. Penn Station would be a hub because bus and rail are both present. They explicitly stated just a bus stop is not a hub. However, if you rode the bus into Newark Penn Station while carrying, you would be in violation of the law as you entered Penn Station. You would be OK along the route up to that point. It is beyond dumb. They are just trying it on in as many places as possible to make carrying as hard as possible because they are control freaks.

1 pointhttps://gun.lawyer/episode-135-largest-gun-ban-in-usa/ So, this law, this absurd law, is turning uncountable numbers of New Jersey citizens, honest law-abiding citizens into potential felons. Facing New Jersey’s typical draconian and outrageous penalties for technical violations of the law, as New Jersey is famous for. Think about how many guns here are covered. It is the largest gun ban that I am aware of in United States history if you think of how many guns come under this law. As we speak, this law is on the books. If you want to read the actual law, I’ll give you the statute. It’s N.J.S. 2C:39-3 subsection n. That’s on the possession prohibitions. N.J.S. 2C:39-9 k., which are the other prohibitions that are at a second- degree level, even more severe. You can see in the 39-9 law, that’s where you’ll also find all the other “Ghosts Gun” prohibitions and 3d printer and all that kind of stuff, all thrown in there.

1 pointSo NJ gun shops have and have had a bunch of inventory on the shelf that is illegal?
-
1 pointHow about an SKS, M1 or a Mosin purchased or transferred at an NJ FFL? Plenty of legitimate examples here.

1 pointI'm going to make a distinction that's not related to this thread topic in particular, but laws in general. Laws prohibit behavior, but don't prevent anything. They don't and can't stop anyone from doing anything. Laws prescribe punishment for the prohibited behavior, if someone is caught. So all laws do is raise the stakes for those who wish to engage in a specific prohibited activity. And if someone is basically oblivious to punishment, laws stop nothing. In the end, what does and doesn't happen is totally dependent on the mindset of individuals.
