  1. Wow... at first I thought it was a Philippines Armscorp made one. Interesting. Sent in a request to try and get one for @Krdshrk to review.
  2. The holidays are here and "Yay" it is once again to go buy gifts. As a gun guy, while I certainly appreciate my friends and family trying to find something firearms related, it is most often easier to just say, "Just get me a gift card to..." Does anyone really want to be gifted a Hi-Point? In that spirit, I am going to share some of my ideas for what I think are pretty cool gifts for the gun guy or girl in our lives, that are not actually guns. The first one is the Fenix PD35 TAC flashlight. A flash light is always a good thing to have and a necessity while living in the boonies or on the job. While I have had my Streamlight for a while, I was amazed that you can get a 1,000 lumen light in such a small package. The Fenix PD35 TAC is a variant of the well known and respected PD35, however it includes a new "Tactical" mode in addition to the "outdoor" mode. In the outdoor mode, the light has 5 different brightness settings including a beam distance of up to 650 feet, easily covering an acre and a half. In the tactical mode, the light offers a very bright strobe which would easily make it a formidable option for a self defense package. The flash light is powered by a single 18650 or two CR123A batteries and comes with included o-rings and a holster. The Fenix PD35 TAC is IPX-8 waterproof, being able to survive being underwater up to 6 1/2 feet deep for up to 30 minutes. The Fenix PD35 TAC is priced around $70 and is available in the United States from Fenix-Store.com Specifications Uses Cree XP-L(V5) LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours New Cree XP-L LED provides up to 251% performance boost from XP-G2 LED Modes of OperationTACTICAL FLASHLIGHT MODE Turbo: 1000 Lumens (1 hr. 10 min.) 3. I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for the community we have built up over the last 10 years and am blown away by the support and the response for every one of you watching and industry partners providing me with products to bring to you! A huge "Thank You" to our staff, @67gtonut @Krdshrk and @Mrs. Peel over the last year. I am blessed to have you all be a part of the community.
  4. So there are town ordinances and then the civility. In "America" we have no issues shooting in your own yard, and occasionally people do. The problem is, despite each neighbor having 2 acres or so, it is pretty annoying shooting something big. I have zero issues with people shooting with a suppressor. What it boils down to, if your town allows it, and you are safe, there is nothing the neighbors can do, except give you headaches dragging you to town hearings, etc... Up to you at that point. If you have a big enough property, say 5 acres or more, and no neighbors close by, I doubt anyone will care, unless you are going crazy on a Sunday evening. For NJ, fairly positive the vast majority of towns have no discharge laws.
  5. Unfortunately the majority of writers looking at NICS data are looking at the WRONG data. I cover the NICS numbers monthly and did a video too. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4306558-nics-october-2019-yet-signs-rebound-reality-check?source=all_articles_title and
  6. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Have been discussing with @Krdshrk and came with a new solution to chat. While I really loved the system we were using, unfortunately the newer version we installed was quite buggy and there was no way to revert to the old one. Had it running on the Amazon cloud but sometime this weekend it just went poof. As such, decided to move the chat earlier than planned. You can access the new chat by clicking the "Chat" link in the menu bar. There is also a mobile app for both Android and iPhones. Link to join NJGF chat on Discord.
  7. Spot on as @GRIZ said. The guy apparently didn't clean up after military and based on his old statement he still has a lot of pent up aggression. In any case, when you pull a knife on a cop... game over. As was said, he is lucky he did not get shot.
  8. Not quite... "other" is merely a category created by ATF that defines firearms that don't fit the existing criteria of "long gun", pistol or AOW. The way Franklin Armory went about it at first was to do a smoothbore gun... thus, no rifled barrel and thus not a rifle. Troy and others went a different route, by manufacturing a firearm that was designed to "be fired with two hands"... hence the vertical fore grip and the pistol brace, and not a stock. And as long as the over all length on these is over 26", it is an "other firearm" rather than "any other firearm" which requires a $5 tax stamp and generally not kosher in the New Jersey. Hope that helps.
  9. Did you get the approval? Yes... hoping the weather will be nice...
  10. YEs. Yes it is. Btw, here is the video we did with the guns. @Dark Storm What guns are you going to have with you?
  11. Not court rulings. They had it planned earlier. I think activist investors and I might have been the one to do it. Overall though, good news. Did an hour long live stream on this tonight.
  12. Not quite. Sheepdog Warrior in Catskill is there too, for North Jersey guys it is even closer. Beyond that, @vladtepes and now many members here are residents of PA. =) There are plenty of farms around and now that the fields are done... they are shooting ranges.
  13. New Holland is out to 800 now? Quick update to this... schedule got a bit tied up and was not able to find a day that works with the range. Will see what we can do. Also found out a few things about the place that may be less than idea. On the flip side, chasing down a lead for a private range much closer allowing over 1,000 yards. (aka someone's farm.)
  14. Because Slavs Squad! =) That's the channel Meme! Thanks @Parker will take a look!
  15. Quite a bit in the making but yay! Join on YouTube at 9pm ET.
  16. If you want to come to PA... Plenty of ranges have 100 meter targets. I think it has to do with certain NRA matches that are using meter targets? Palmerton, 100, 200 and 300 meter targets.
  17. They restarted a few years ago and did limited runs IIRC. I think 2 years ago we started seeing them more and more.
  18. Interesting... I suppose it does make sense but the enforcement is going to be crazy. In that same spirit, I suppose any food items purchased for the purposes of being shot and blown up at the range ought to be taxed too?
  19. The classic "ar pistol" in NJ is the Bushmaster Carbon, which a few dealers have. In reality though, I think it is kind of silly, especially since today you can buy an "other firearm"
  20. Sorry, but yes, while you are right.... WHAT KIND OF GUY DOES NOT OWN A VISE AND AT LEAST 1 OR 2 TORQUE WRENCHES?!?!!?
  21. That is a completely wrong mentality and against the spirit of why the community exists. Yes, majority of the people visiting here are here to learn and very few actually have the will or nerves to register to ask a question... at the fear of being called an idiot @Smokin .50. As gun owners we say "there is no such thing as a stupid question" when it comes to firearms, yet some old timers can't help but be internet commandos themselves. Yes, I did check out the username and email and it is a legit person. @Sniper holding off answering the question is ridiculous especially as those answers are going to answer 5 or 10 others who have the same question but did not know to ask it, were afraid to ask it at the fear of sounding stupid, or will ask in 3 or 4 years finding it on Google. Or do you suggest they go post 20 things about why Trump is great and democrats are stupid before they are allowed to ask gun questions?
  22. Stop being a douche... guy is obviously new. Not really in the spirit of your org. =P
  23. This is nothing new and completely a non-issue. NationalReview has pretty bad articles and is all about the page clicks, much of the info is very high level and often does not reach the actual issues. The serialized part as per the ATF is the Lower receiver on an AR-15. End of story. There are 80% lowers but that is nothing really new either. You can finish one for personal use, you just can't sell it (IIRC). This is done basically to avoid any registration and is legal in most of america. This also avoids FAET tax on firearms and ammo. I.e. Palmetto pays an excise tax on completed lowers they sell but any of the 80% lower companies do not. By buying and building it yourself for personal use, you are not paying the FAET. IF you were to sell them, well... you are avoiding FAET and should be registered as an FFL/manufacturer. IIRC the case, was about a guy who was completing 80% lowers and selling them.
  24. In most of free america, you are allowed to manufacturer your own gun, and it does not need to be registered in any way as long as it is for personal use. These 80% lowers/frames/etc. are essentially fully made, you just need to make the final cuts, typically holes for the pins to go through. As far as I know... (and I really should), it is no go in NJ anyway since Murphy passed something on it?
