  1. Agreed, I'm just annoyed with the obstructionist counties (mine included) that haven't issued anything.
  2. Truth^^^ Up until recently I was a big advocate for 1911 carry. This was until I took pistol classes and saw fellow students forgetting to turn their safety's off on the draw, or the grip safety interfering with their firing grip which would often affect their accuracy. The manual safety is on a defensive carry gun is an intentional obstacle you're placing on yourself, one that could cost you your life. My carry gun does not and will not have a safety. If those of you feel uneasy about appendix carry, you can apply a large foam wedge to the backside of your holster which will tilt the gun away from your body, it works for me.
  3. Strikeforce seems to be laser focused on addressing the "ocean county car carry" restriction, but no one is addressing the counties like Middlesex and Somerset that have not issued a single permit to anyone! I have emailed Strikeforce already regarding Middlesex county and have received no response nor have I seen any change in this county. What's the point of pouring resources into fighting the "car carry" restriction at this juncture when there are still numerous counties that are refusing to issue a single permit? At least those in Ocean, Passiac, Morris, Hunterdon Counties are getting something. I'm very disappointed with the chosen course of action, can someone else other than me email strikeforce regarding Middlesex, Somerset Etc?
  4. My PD required the same, it was a quite a large packet i handed in.
  5. Yes, it means the superior court in your area is processing your application.
  6. We shouldn't even entertain the idea of accepting that restriction!
  7. Another update in Middlesex County Apologies for the long email and punctuation errors but, this was written in haste as I'm kind of busy at the moment. Those in Middlesex County and possibly other counties will want to take what I write note for note. I missed a phone call that appeared as "NJ Judiciary" in the inbound phone call log. I naturally assumed this was the Superior Court regarding my missing application, so I called them back. The individual who picked up was not the correct contact, so they transferred me to same individual i spoke to on Friday regarding my missing application. Before I was transferred though, the person who initially picked up the phone mumbled something under their breath which to me sounded like "it doesn't matter ", I could be entirely wrong, but it is hard to make out garbled messages correctly. The person I spoke to regarding my application stated the following. 1. My application was received today in the court even though my PD told me they shipped it out weeks ago! 2. There have been no carry applications signed off by the judge in Middlesex County. 3. When it's ready for I pick up I will receive a phone call. (with the understanding that the phone call would come from the court) So, what I have learned from this experience? Well, it doesn't take weeks in transit to send a manilla envelope a few miles to New Brunswick using USPS or any other carrier! The PD's are "fudging" the dates in which your applications are sent, or the applications sent are in some dark vault deep within the bowels of court for weeks before being logged in by court personnel!!! Secondly, the judge has not signed off any applications so even if your money order is cashed it won't matter without a judge's signature. Thirdly, I believe once Middlesex starts issuing permits, we will likely have to pick up our permits from the courthouse and not the PD. Based on my conversation with the clerk, it does sound like they are at least processing the applications, but the issue remains that the assignment judge is not signing off on them. I really wish that Strikeforce would take note of what's happening in Middlesex County, at some point action will need to be taken. The clock is now ticking on my application....
  8. That's the question isn't it? I'll update here when I have more information. Currently, I am waiting on the sources i reached out to.
  9. The clerk was called twice and checked twice, there is no receipt of my application. PD said they sent it more than two weeks ago. I spoke with the court twice and PD once, I got no answer. The difference between your experience and mine is that in your case the PD may not have sent it yet when you called the clerk. My case is very different and more concerning, the PD is saying they sent it more than two weeks ago!!! The court should have my application in the stack AND THEY DONT!. That's the issue. Samiam is correct, applications should be recorded when received by the court without exception.
  10. I called the court again to discuss what my PD told me. It appears they have indeed "lost" my application. From what I understand the assignment judge has not signed off or viewed any Post-Bruen applications. I was told by the court to call back next week as the person in charge is going on vacation. Strikeforce has been emailed regarding this issue. Retaining an attorney is now on the table...
  11. Yes. I just called the ANJRPC Strikeforce, someone should be calling back hopefully today. The incinerator, the garbage out back, maybe they dropped it into a lake or landfill.
  12. I'll be calling shortly...I am giving them time to "find" my application...... Exactly, through incompetence or malicious intent they will likely force us to take legal action to get our permits.
  13. Update from Middlesex County! I called the Middlesex County Superior Court and my PD this morning after seeing that my money order was still not cashed. The court clerk told me that they do not have my application and my name does not appear anywhere. She stated that they are overloaded with carry applications and that the judge has not signed off any applications. It sounded from our brief conversation that there is no date or timeframe for the judge to even begin looking at these applications. I then called my PD who told me that indeed my application was signed off and sent to the court weeks ago!!! How's that for some crazy SHIT!! The court clerk did take my number down to call me back on the chance they found my application. If your in Middlesex, you can forget a smooth and speedy issuance of your carry permit. So, which attorney should I go with? I'm thinking Jef Henninger or Dan Schmutter.
  14. If anyone has been issued or will soon be issued a permit in Middlesex County please let us know! The judge should be back on Monday.
  15. As long as you call your PD to make an appointment to drop off your paperwork they cannot refuse! December! That's a bunch of baloney! They are playing games with you.
  16. I am in a similar situation and almost identical timeline. July 13th - Application dropped off at local PD and accepted July 22nd - Fingerprinted in NJ July 28th - All references completed Aug 16th - Notified by PD that application was approved by a chief and forwarded to superior court. Judge will be on vacation until the end of the month and to be patient as there are a lot of applications. The statute for the Superior Court is 30 days total for approved or rejected applications. I too will be taking action if there is no hearing or determination at the 30 day deadline. FYI this is Middlesex County.
  17. My source says differently, but a return date of 8/22 would be great. I would not call them too much! What Steve_G said about a huge pile of applications is true based on a source.
  18. It will likely be next month as most judges, detectives, etc... go on vacation in August. I will update when something comes up!
  19. Yep, I heard the same...that's the word around these parts. I believe sometime in the beginning to mid-September we will some activity at the court level in our county.
  20. An update from Middlesex County! My application was approved by the PD and send to the court. Now more waiting... . The fact is that for most of us this will be a 30-90 day process. I am aware that some here have received their permits in under 30 days but, that won't be for the majority of applicants particularly in heavily populated areas like Middlesex and Bergen counties. Like I said, getting your carry permit quickly appears to be county dependent and maybe some luck too! I am also the first post-bruen applicant in my town which is kinda cool.
  21. Congrats to you! Be thankful your not in MIddlesex! At least yours is moving to the court level....
