  1. I don't think any range is going to want you taking anything apart on the range itself. They probably wouldn't want you interrupting the other shooters when they have to call a ceasefire for you to retrieve springs that fly down range, or soaking the bench with solvent. If they don't provide an area for cleaning it's probably not going to happen there. I also do not have any permanent location for cleaning. I have my cleaning gear in plastic tubs/totes that I store in the garage. I'd setup a space in the garage but too clod in the winter and too hot in the summer so it's either the kitchen table or my desk while watching gun tube
  2. Why not list them on this forum first? It's likely you would find a local buyer and outside of the forum membership fee you are not paying anything additional. Have you checked out the listings here to see what people are selling? Handguns all the time.
  3. Terrain can be an issue with range. Line of sight is important that there are no hills/forest/large buildings between receivers. Being on the top of the hill will be advantageous to communicating in all directions. A more powerful radio will provide additional range and clarity but it is still line of sight.
  4. I haven't done it yet but I was looking at getting a GMRS license. I think it's like $35 and covers immediate family members. There is no test and it is all online. Then you can use more powerful longer range handheld and repeaters. https://quality2wayradios.com/store/gmrs-fcc-license
  5. I'm on a PC and never see ads, but I also use Ad Block Plus
  6. I bought a magnifier once. What I don't like about them is the weight and fixed magnification. I have since moved on to LPVOs. I don't know for sure but I don't think that deviation is a problem. There are adjustments on the magnifier to center the dot in the field of view but keep in mind you only make zero adjustments on the Red Dot itself and then adjust the magnifier to center the dot in your view through the magnifier. If set on it I would get it through Amazon (same price as PA) but 30 day no hassle refund policy in case it doesn't work out.
  7. What about non-violent felons like the Range case: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/people-convicted-nonviolent-crimes-can-guns-court-says-rcna88030 He is a 'criminal' but it was a non-violent crime. I believe that's why they came to this ruling: “The Court finds that Carbajal-Flores’ criminal record, containing no improper use of a weapon, as well as the non-violent circumstances of his arrest do not support a finding that he poses a risk to public safety such that he cannot be trusted to use a weapon responsibly and should be deprived of his Second Amendment right to bear arms in self-defense,” Judge Coleman wrote. “Thus, this Court finds that, as applied to Carbajal-Flores, Section 922(g)(5) is unconstitutional.” Citizen status shouldn't be a limiting factor IMO.
  8. How about the situation where a foreigner travels here for a shooting competition and wants to bring their own firearms? I believe this is legal to do though it does require some paperwork (temporary importation.) So not being a citizen of the USA doesn't necessarily preclude someone from possessing firearms in the USA, just has to be done properly. The original story did not disclose how the alien immigrant acquired the firearm. Though he may have acquired it legally if he established residency: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/may-nonimmigrant-alien-who-has-been-admitted-united-states-under-nonimmigrant-visa-and#:~:text=A nonimmigrant alien without residency, have the firearm directly exported. "A nonimmigrant alien who has established residency in a state may purchase and take possession of a firearm from an unlicensed person, provided the buyer and seller are residents of the same state, and no other state or local law prohibits the transaction. A nonimmigrant alien with residency in a state may purchase a firearm from a licensee, provided the sale complies with all applicable laws and regulations." Ultimately my feelings on this is if you are not in jail you should be able to own/possess firearms in this country. If they are too dangerous to be on the streets then they should be under supervision one way or another.
  9. I hear that! If both your ARs are 5.56 are they also 16"? If so I'd consider a short 'Other' just to be different. They are fun and you already have mags
  10. I've seen the video and I'd question a barrel retained by a single screw though they claim to retain accuracy, I wonder how long will that screw stay in place before needing to be retorqued. You are also dealing with proprietary barrel extension so you are stuck with buying barrels from them. What about just getting various uppers in the calibers you are looking to shoot? Could even build out the uppers yourself. Then if you get bored with it I would think it easier to sell an odd caliber upper than an odd specific proprietary barrel for the LMT. Or later trying to sell the LMT with a set of barrels hoping someone wants all that. What calibers are you considering out of an AR?
  11. They are getting exactly what they are after as these increases will discourage purchases. Fingers crossed we win on fees and such. If not, my time in NJ will be short. I was born in NJ and except for my Army service I have resided in NJ. I love the area but they are taxing us to death and give us nothing in return, they just give it to people who don't pay into the system. The way it's going there's no way I can retire here and keep up with the tax increases. Jacking up firearms related fees is just going to make me look to move sooner than later.
  12. I think we are talking about 2 different things. I'm talking about quotas (how many handguns you can purchase in a certain period of time) not how fast a PD must issue a permit.
  13. Ok I couldn't find that and I'm guessing t would probably have been before the Bruen decision. Anything post-Bruen?
  14. Is there any challenge to the One Handgun a Month rule in NJ?

  17. It depends... Depends on the ammo, depends on the gun and how finicky some guns are. I try to avoid issues to have a more pleasant range trip and find cleaning after each trip helps with that especially semi-auto .22s or any other dirty cartridges. I also like to see how things are wearing internally, check for rust and inspect for any issues but I'm sure my process is overkill. I don't really agree with the 'just add oil' crowd. In my mind this is forcing foreign material where it should not be and may lead to excessive wear. I'd rather not have anyone else cleaning my gear. I'd rather fuck it up myself I agree that if a range provides storage lockers they should provide a safe room/cleaning area. Do you take any friends shooting or if they have guns of their own perhaps ask if you can bring them lunch and have a cleaning party at their place?
  18. What about WMAs? If going to rifle, shotgun or archery range can you carry on that property?

If the cartridge falls out on its own rules out sticking in the chamber and would suggest an extractor issue of sorts. It could not have enough tension or something blocking the extractor from getting on the rim of the case in battery (if it holds a case on the bolt out of the gun.) With the bolt out of the gun have a good look in the chamber around the extractor relief area and make sure there is no gunk pushing the extractor off the rim. I'm out of ideas after that.

Not normal. Something is not allowing the case to be extracted. Likely culprits are weak extractor spring, broken/rounded off extractor, fouled chamber. Aside from that I really can't think of anything else that would cause this. ... I'm scratching my grays and going back rereading the problem description and maybe I'm assuming something here? When you say 'wouldn't eject' is the case stuck in the chamber or just not ejecting (comes out of the chamber but causes a jam)? Perhaps a picture could help explain what's going on. I also found this: https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/GSG5_weak_ejection_for_anyone___I_had_to_modify_my_extractor/41-277116/

OK so an occasional extraction issue? Probably best to give the bolt a review and make sure the chamber is clean. Also try different ammo to confirm the behavior.

    1. What brand of ammo? And have you tried different with same results? 2. You mention the extractor is in place but I would take the bolt out and inspect the extractor for any damage and see if it will hold a spent case. I've had some extraction issues in multiple 22s all with the same sticky ammo (Aguila) but all work fine with CCI. Hope this helps
  23. "Pollard was charged with third-degree aggravated assault, third-degree criminal restraint, third-degree terroristic threats, seven counts of second-degree possession of an assault weapon, four counts of second-degree possession of a machine gun, seven counts of third-degree possession of a weapon without a serial number, third-degree possession of a short barrel rifle, nine counts of fourth-degree manufacturing a firearm, fourth-degree possession of an extended firearm magazine, fourth-degree possession of a firearm suppressor, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree hindering apprehension of prosecution. Federal charges are also expected to be forthcoming, the prosecutor’s office said." Wow his balls must be HUGE! Chances of this being fought or will just be plead guilty on lesser charges so they can keep the laws on AWB, 'ghost' gun etc? The guy could be a dirtbag, I don't know but still don't agree with all the charges.
