New Training for Carry Permits - Any Word?
Tony replied to maintenanceguy's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I qualified under the Retired officer program already, did holster draws, off hand and reloading and actually did the night fire as well with a welding mask on to simulate night. Notice the new cert it says one permit is sufficient for all handguns you own. Wonder if can just get this filled out and hand this in to local chief, though my permit was issued by the courts. -
Pulled over in NJ while Carrying?
Tony replied to g17owner's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Many years ago in Pa when i lived there, your permit was tied to your license, when I applied to PA to get my CC permit after I received my NJ one, it was once again listed that it will be tied to my license. I do not know if out of state permits are tied to the NJ license but that is what was listed when I signed up for PA permit. I do not see that wording for NJ but I would most likely see that in the future. -

Update on my Pa permit, picked it up yesterday in Luzerne county - just showed license and NJ CC permit - asked to see my court order just to verify there was no other restrictions on there except types of weapons. Said I can carry whatever I own while in PA and permit is good for 5 years. -

Applied in Luzerne county right after I received my NJ permit in August, was approved in 3 days but the appointment schedule was out till next year. Finally found a day next week appointment available (DEC) I can go get picture and pick up. Applied there since I own a house there and my original PA permit 20 years ago was from that county as well. Some counties you have to schedule appointments to pickup while others you can walk in. -

I received mine this past week - 8-24 packet went to PD and 10/21 judge signed, picked up 10/25 at PD My court order only has the 2 weapons I qualified with on it and on how to add any more to the order. Wish they would have put the weapons' and Serial # on the ID card like other counties, (as order states must carry a copy with you) but it was a fast process through Evesham PD. -
