  1. Not sure how to describe it, but you see the spot you are aiming at, even at an indoor range where it is relatively dark, they work. They also have other aperture’s you can buy, smaller, larger.

  2. I was never a fan of buis, not due to the sight but rather to my crappy eye sight, peep with a front post was a challenge so I would never use them. Enter an M1 Garand, now I forced myself to use them and I found I was actually adequate with my Garand, no 500 yard hits but have been very happy with hitting an 8” plate at 150 yards.

So I start looking for buis for my ar, tried a few cheap set ups but not as good with them as I am with the Garand, opened up a Midway promo email and browsed the deep discount aisle, found these for a deep discount, Ultradyne C2 Sight Set… They had good reviews so I bought them, mounted, zero’d and was very impressed, I’m sure there is a medical explanation but having the two aperture’s allows your eye to relax and focus on the target through the front aperture. Amazing how it worked with my tired eyes. Line up the holes to your point of impact and squeeze.

For a $115 to my door it was a great investment, so much so that I took off my strike eagle and just run the Ultradyne sights, very fun to just run the irons.

  3. Brick township took 6 weeks to issue my p2p, 12 months ago they took 9 weeks. Brick now makes you to pay for the permits up front before they process them, 12 months ago they didn’t ask for the 2 bucks until the permit was ready. Even though the fars site says they send the collected 2 bucks to your local PD.

  4. Hit enter for 3 ptp on 8/2, got a call on 8/12 to pay for the permits, was all excited, no way it took less than 2 weeks in Brick township, get to the PD and the girl tells me they make you pay up front now because they have 200 apps sitting there where people didn’t come in to pay, leave bummed. Still waiting, heard they are turning them around in 6 weeks. Should be soon, I hope.

I shot Ernie Langdon’s personal PX4. It was one of the smoothest double/single actions guns I have ever handled - it was addicting to shoot. If I was stuck with a double action only or a double/single action gun for CCW, I’d get a full house Langdon PX4.

I have the LTT trigger group in mine, it gets me to 80% of a full in house pistol, and man it is sweet, double action is one smooth pull and a solid crisp break. I can only imagine what the pistol you got to shoot felt like.

The .30-30 lever action as it comes from the factory (I.E. Henry, Winchester, Marlin) suffers from two maladies: open iron sights and a heavy, sometimes long trigger pull. In the hands of a novice shooter, this is a 100-yard gun.

Outfit the rifle with a scope or modern peep sight, and you can extend the range. Tune the factory trigger from 9 lbs to 4 lbs. and it becomes a better shooter. Factory .30-30 150 gr. ammo carries an energy rating in excess of 1,000 ft. - lbs. out to 150 yds. Modern 160 gr. Hornady FTX ammo has a factory energy rating of 1,300 ft.- lbs. at 200 yds. In the hands of a seasoned shooter, that's plenty of oomph for deer sized game.

The Hornady 160gr FTX is the round I use in my lever, I need to check my trigger pull on my Henry, I never felt it to be a 9lb trigger.

  7. DPP on a Walther pdp.

I still rack the slide basically the same way, now the DPP is just in my hand as I rack the slide now.
Actually makes it easier, with 1000 rounds through it with the rds no issues, never loosened never lost zero.

  8. Anyone have any experience with this round, been thinking about adding an upper to go with my AR, it would be used for white tail, from what I have read it sounds like a nice option for deer season.  Currently I use a 30–30 lever which is perfectly fine, just looking to expand a bit.
