Honestly I think it might. Kids today are so emotionally fragile. I know 20 year Olds who get nervous ordering food at the drive through. I'm gunna sound older then I am but I think being raised on tv and computers is just destroying these people's perception.

Totally agree with this, I have guy’s that work in my company that if you took away their cell phones they would cry. They almost live in an alter reality with their face buried in their phones, and computer games. One guy who is one of the worst started talking about a girlfriend, his coworkers asked him if she was human.

    Fake news.

Lol, there is a lot of that going around lately.

    Welcome aboard.

What was your first hand gun purchase? Mine was a Beretta, from there it’s been all a blur.

  3. If any of the cars are decent you can also donate the vehicle, I used the American heart association once, they show up with a flat bead, remove the car and give you a receipt that you use as a deduction on income tax. If I remember my deduction was for $4,800.

  4. Have a place in Calabash NC, 7 miles north of the SC boarder, far enough away from Myrtle to avoid the influx of tourists during the summer and close enough to enjoy all Myrtle has to offer. For dining take a ride into Muriel’s Inlet, it’s the seafood capitol of SC, the have a marsh walk that’s pretty cool, food is awesome there. Calabash NC is the seafood capitol of NC, in Little River NC there is a bunch of inter coastal restaurants you can walk to once parked, it’s a great way to kill an afternoon.

When looking for a retirement place there really isn’t a bad location down there, obviously there are bad locations but they are easy to spot, homeowner insurance is where they get you, if you are within 7 miles of the ocean insurance is crazy high, you need to carry homeowner and wind and hail insurance, if outside the 7 miles those costs are much better, I’m outside the 7 miles and I still pay 2800 a year, without the wind and hail insurance (it’s optional) if a hurricane comes through you are screwed.

A second home in SC charges you a big number for property tax, a friend bought in SC recently and is paying 4600 a year, once it becomes the primary residence that number is like 1000 a year, in NC I pay 1400 a year and when I hit 65 it gets cut in half, NC taxes your pension if you have one, SC does not.

Perhaps we should blame Samuel Colt for people misusing revolvers, too?

There are legitimate use cases for tracking devices. The misuse by some people does not remove those use cases.

    Noooo, Sammy C shouldn’t be blamed for anything…… ;-)

This surprised me as well. The phone rep said it was discontinued two years ago and couldn't cite a specific reason why. Maybe it was just a guestimate on their part.

Apparently each bundle (eg. 18rd mags, 10rd mags, etc.) has a different model code as well. Maybe their whole system just got confused.

So far the story has evolved from: Send to third party for bluing -> Waiting for barrel from Italy -> ... Waiting for barrel from US -> Barrel from Italy expected last week -> Your model's discontinued and you're getting a replacement.

The replacement is the right model with NJ compliant mags, so I really don't mind.

Agreed, who cares, you’re getting a new pistol!!!

Just bizarre you went through all that.

I have a PDP with a Leupold DPP mounted for you to compare to that brandie new Beretta when you mount a RD, let’s hit a range! Lol

I was tempted to go for the 92X performance, looks really nice.

Yeah, I sent them a 92X RDO full size and they're sending me a newer model of the same line. It's whacky but, again, can't complain :D

The RDO is a relatively new model.  Maybe a year old

That’s the confusing part, I was under the same assumption that the RDO came out last summer, but Beretta is saying the RDO model sent to them had been discontinued 2 years ago.

UPDATE: Today I learned that my particular 92X model was discontinued... two years ago. So the barrel would never come.

I have literally asked about exactly this and was reassured all the way up to an expected shipment last week. On the plus side, Beretta will give me a completely new replacement. I can't complain, but it all seems so bizarre.

Unsurprisingly, it's on back order with no ETA. :jester:

The pistol you sent to them was the RDO model? Discontinued 2 years ago?

They are sending a new pistol? Sweet!

I love my 92x performance, the sights are sweet. NonRDO.

  9. The company I work for had a piece of property in Whippany with a hotel on it, it had a built in pool also, the company who leased the property wanted to remove the pool, they had to hire an engineering firm to draw up prints, the pool had to be cut and removed four feet down, the floor of the pool had to be jack hammered to allow water to drain, and all the fill had to be documented as clean fill.

  10. All great handguns above, the Taurus is always highly recommended, the 1911’s are also very fun to shoot, I have a Walther Colt tribute .22 that gets a lot of range time, functions like a 1911, has some weight to it like a 1911. My wife has the sr22 that she very much enjoys and shoots well, although she has pretty much claimed my Walther tribute as her own these days.

Fuente 8-5-8 was my go-to when I smoked regularly.

When J&R was in their heyday I REALLY liked their El Rey del Mundo line.  They had a bigger pyramid (Flor de la Lenza?) that I couldn't resist.  They also had a paper wrapped Robusto that was fantastic.

I haven't smoked a cigar in 10 years or so, but if Rey del Mundo are still around I'd probably grab them.

As always I'd never pass up a Cuban if offered...

When we would drive down to NC we always went 12 miles out of our way and stopped at J&R in Selma, grabbed some cigars and some aftershave that they carried, the stores there were fun to browse. Once it was sold they closed the store no more nick nacks, just a small cigar store on the very end.

  12. I’m sure a few here are cigar smokers, what is your go to cigar?

Mostly Romeo & Juliet for me, I enjoy an Acid blondie every now and then, League of extraordinary men is yummy also, Arturo Fuente is another I enjoy.

Had a connection for Cubans, have a few Esplendidos left, save those for golf with the boy’s.
