SCOTUS to hear search and seizure case
EdF replied to Shepherd9's topic in National Gun Law Discussion
This has NOTHING to do with red flag laws. If the wife had properly allowed the search or retrieved the guns and turned them over, there wouldn't be a question. But, the search and the seizure were sullied by the police lying to her and saying that her husband had given permission. This, she believed, prevented her from stopping them. -
Just to show my ignorance . . . When you fatten up the mixture that way does it really fatten it up if the computer is telling the injection system to stay lean? I'm not clear on WHERE in the system you are adding fuel. But, it sounds like a computer problem, which might be fixed by new grounds and/or a reset. If you didn't clean the grounds down to bare metal while doing the previous work you may have just hooked them back up to corroded metal? Obviously, let us know what happens!

A little off the wall . . . I'm usually pretty good deep diving into the web to find solutions to this type of stuff. I quickly came a across an "Electrical Grounding Mod" that seems to have solved a lot of Subaru problems from that period. The problem is that I can't find a good description of the modification. As I read, the grounds on these cars have a tendency to corrode, causing "extra" grounds. This causes noise from the alternator and other sources to interfere with proper signals to the computer and other components. Hesitation off idle is one of the clearly stated problems. From an engineering point of view, I can . . . kind of . . . see that. There the best explanation I could find without spending the kind of time that I would if it were my car: https://imgur.com/a/s24ll#uM2Qe6b

I've decided that I'm not going to run +P rounds through my old Colt revolver. I have 20 rounds of Magtech First Defense +P 95gr hollow points - $20 50 rounds of Remington +P 158gr hollow points - $35 150 rounds (three boxes) Winchester +P Silver Tip 125gr hollow points - $35/box The more you buy the farther I will travel to meet you. Prefer Camden or Burlington Counties. First to post, "I'll take xxxxx . . . " and follow up with a PM takes it. Thanks

Being a danger isn't illegal. You and I are dangerous because we own weapons and know how to use them. That's not a crime. If my neighbor and I have a simple argument and he calls the police, the fact that I own guns makes me a danger, a risk, even if I don't threaten anybody. That doesn't mean that I've committed any crime. I wasn't mistaken. Actually . . . Under red flag laws it IS your problem. Which is the point that I've been trying to make. If someone HAS done something the better move would be to take them into custody. If the act is criminal, they can just be held in jail. If the act indicates a psych issue, they can be taken to a hospital for observation. The hospital doesn't really want someone who has only committed a criminal act. They don't have enough beds or enough staff to just take handoffs from the police.

You know . . . Nobody is really arguing with you. You came in here and asked how to report a scam to GunBroker, then you reported the seller to GunBroker, they took the sale down and removed the seller (as if that's going to stop him). What else do you want from us?

First . . . I specifically said that I don't support red flag laws, so don't act like I DO . . . Second . . . I didn't say that owning a firearm was illegal OR that threatening to harm or kill someone isn't. Third . . . What I DID say is that someone being afraid that you might do something doesn't mean that you have ACTUALLY threatened them in any way. Fourth . . . I didn't say that I was looking for an in between solution. I said that "they" are trying to that. No . . . We really DON'T have 72 hour psych evals for someone who hasn't committed an overt act. So . . . What the hell are you talking about?

I don't see anything wrong with what you've done. You were suspicious, you reported it to the platform, you haven't lost anything. Let it go. Ebay has a "Sell One Like This" button that allows users to create listings that can be almost direct duplicates of other listings. Sometimes new or inexperienced or lazy posters can get their listings up faster or duplicate what a successful seller has done. As for "below market" prices . . . Isn't that what we are all looking for? Many of these sellers don't have brick and mortar shops so they have low overhead. They also realize that buyers still have to pay shipping and transfers so they keep prices down.

Not going out a limb to point out that the issue is your FID, not you permits. While some are reporting long delays in getting permits, the FID delays are seem to be far longer and waits of three to six months were not unusual BEFORE the surge that started last year. Popping your request in just after the election wasn't the best timing. I'm not saying that you had an option just that a few weeks before the election may not have left you in as long a line. I second the idea of reaching out to the chief's office. I don't know if you assembly rep would be helpful or not.

This isn't a NJ issue. This is federal law and applies to any sale where the seller and the purchaser are residents of different states.

If it falls through, I'll take it.

Glock 34 Gen 5 MOS 9MM - legal in NJ?
EdF replied to FunGun's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Most of the FFLs that I have talked to over the last few months aren't taking orders. They get what they can get and they sell within hours to days. It's just the way it is right now. If that's the gun you want and you see it online, buy it. It isn't likely to be there the next day. I learned that the hard way. Yes, you will pay for shipping and the transfer. Plan that in the price you are willing to pay. Often, the large online sellers have lower prices (less overhead, more volume) and you don't end up paying very much more. -
I just reread his every post and see no such explanation of what he's doing. I'll wait to hear it from him.

I think that I would stop saying that they aren't interested. I've been in quite few shops the last four months and talked to more. They just don't have guns. Can't order or find anything specific. One, who I have known most of my life told me that he goes to the armory to pick up shipments, doesn't know what's in the boxes until he's back and opening things up and most of it sells faster than he can get it on the shelves. They don't take orders because they don't know what they can get and don't want to hold your money when you might be able to get something else faster.
-
What are they "too busy" to do? Sell you a gun? Most of them don't have many guns or much selection. They are busy, selling what they have and trying to get more. So, what won't they do for you?
-
If you know what you want, don't limit yourself to what you can find in NJ shops. Find the gun that you want online and have it shipped to your local FFL.

She didn't but the rounds from an AR are going to go that far if they don't hit something first.
