  1. At Shooters you bring the guns you want beside your qualifier and they add to the certificate form. Lines for 4 firearms. I qualified with my Shield Plus 9mm , added Bersa Thunder .380 and Ruger LCPll .380. The instructor wasn't sure if between the time 1st issued and renewal it would be possible to add one to the permit. I had asked because I have another 9mm ordered & not received yet that I would have added. You fill in Brand, Model and caliber, and add the serial numbers as he reads them off the firearm to you. Then he signs and dates your registration form and gives you a copy. Took me longer to type this than completing the form. Paul, retired SPO did not require 25 yards.
  2. Shooters info is on their Facebook page
  3. Shield is selling 24/7 access to attorneys and legal costs coverage which I learned of first from RPOs I spoke with. Concealed Carry Insurance | Legal Defense for Self Defense | USLawShield
  4. I posted this the other day in the Truck gun thread: I've contacted my State reps and requested they look into introducing a bill that will allow the sale of firearm liabilityinsurance like USCCA. Please add your voice to the cause, it's insane they REQUIRE car insurance but refuse to ALLOW CCW insurance. Thanks.
  5. No, straight forward low ready to firing position, two hand. I was untimed but it is too easy to do steady fire& some double taps. If you shoot once a month you should have no trouble taking the course offered there with very good results. Everyone in a class of 20 passed, one person was advised to get some additional training.
  6. I just qualified at Shooters Sporting Center, standard FBI-Q target 30 rounds, 10 ea. 5-7.5-10 yards, only need an 80% to pass. Heavy fiber board targets, couldn't bring it home, but I had a 6" spread, no reload drill, no support hand shooting. Conducted by retired State Police Officer.
  7. Shooters Sporting Center in Little Egg Harbor. 1535 Route 539 Little Egg Harbor NJ 08087 1-609-296-4080 I'm a member & not paid to recommend them, just a really well-run shop/range.
  8. I am qualifying tomorrow 7/6/2022 and just clarified with them about multiple firearms. I will shoot my Shield Plus to qualify and they will record the serial numbers of another gun I bring to verify the serial number only, add it to my certification from the instructor. The XD-s 4" Mod 2 OSP I ordered has not arrived in time. I plan on adding my Ruger LCPll and Bersa Thunder .380's.

  10. "I just got my new passport and I went to CVS to get the photo done. They take it and process it and send you on your way with what you need for your passport." I used them as well, but you need to tell them up front you want 4 photos. Deal is about $16/2 and only $2.99 for an extra set. I forgot to and was charged $32 and needed to work out a refund later.
  11. Has anyone any news on buying ammunition since the new package of laws were signed by Murphy? I use a lot from online purchases that used to require just the FID sent with an order. Are local dealers changing the routine yet?
  12. Shooters Sporting Center Facebook posting: STARTING TUESDAY MORNING YOU CAN CALL THE STORE TO BOOK A CLASS. THIS 1 HOUR COURSE IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! YOU MUST BE AN EXPERIENCED SHOOTER TO REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS! This is not a training course! $90 Plus Tax Non-Refundable Fee! You will not be refunded if you do not pass! Please come prepared with the following: •Firearm/s you wish to carry (Must be .380 or Larger) Semi-autos preferred- Revolvers will require a speed loader •100 Rounds of ammunition •At least 2 magazines •Drivers License and Firearm’s ID card EYES & EARS required as well, just me adding a reminder.
  13. The application fee is $50 to the state. What instructors charge is arbitrary, and I have signed up to qualify next week for $90, instructor is State Police certified. So cost is the same as about 6-7 boxes of 9mm. Reasonable, I'd say, we will need to continue solid opposition to some of the useless restrictions Murphy and his ilk propose.
  14. I'm in Ocean County and will lend you my lead sled. PM me if you are interested.
  15. I've used a Clinger Hinge with my Shield in both 2 point clips and the single Gear clip. Both very comfortable on a good belt.
  16. Have used Shield 2.0 while in Fl., will be qualifying next week here with a Shield Plus 3.1" 9mm, Clinger OWB holster or Desantis Mini Slide if it comes in by then.
  17. Scheduled for my CCW qualification course next Wednesday morning. Ironic that after waiting 50 yrs. for the laws to change I get it 2 days after Independence Day.
  18. I just ordered a DeSantis OWB leather Mini Slide for the Shield. I hear the qualifying usually require OWB for the range portion. If not, it will still be a good cool weather holster under an outer garment.
  19. As a Florida non-resident CCW permit holder, I've been using a Kore Tactical belt and a Clinger Hinge System IWB holster using the single Gear clip most of the time. Carry choice is a Shield Plus PC 3.1" with fiber optic sights.
  20. I've waited and hoped for this for 50 yrs. I know it's true now but it's almost a Twilight Zone feel I have about it.
  21. That requires a separate qualification beyond a CCW that even retired LEO need to do armed security work
  22. "....qualification and ownership with the handgun(s) you intend on carrying if your application is approved." That's another somewhat requirement our state has. In many jurisdictions that I have seen with similar wording also add that it is the specific firearm, not just brand and model. They will probably require you to qualify for EACH gun you expect to carry. I hope not, as I have three completely different guns I carry in Florida and would do so here as well under certain conditions.
  23. See the complete stage schedule above. Any stage that requires more has mag change figured into time limits.
  24. Just tell me where & when to show up for qualifying...I'm ready.
  25. P&K Firearms in Mahahawkin (609) 597-4646 I have dealt with them on repairs, purchases and transfers from out of state buys.
