I think the folks that witnessed the antics of so many groups back in 2020 haven’t forgotten, and they want to be prepared. Prepared meaning protecting themselves. I know about six people who have never owned a handgun, but bought one in the last few years, including my doctor and dentist, both of whom never owned a gun before.

Doesn’t Kentucky vet their concealed carriers each year or every month? Plus there are still thousands of firearms that transfer hands in states where person to person sales are still legal.

I won’t get over it until the NRA does some general housecleaning. The CNJFO folks sent out a mailer this week regarding these fee hikes and a form letter, and an email mailing list to contact representatives in Trenton to voice our disappointment over another new set of fees. I’ve seen nothing in the mail from the NRA’s arm in NJ, the ANJRPC.

Mr LaPierre visited the Bahamas more than eight times by private plane using funds intended for the NRA, for a total cost of $500,000. The evidence also included helicopter trips to car races to avoid being stuck in traffic, as well as money spent on landscaping and anti-mosquito treatments at Mr LaPierre's home. There were also gifts for friends and family and expenses such as hair and makeup styling for Mr LaPierre's wife.

Did the Governor release a statement on this? He was concerned about people carrying guns a year ago. Other than some physical pain and embarrassment, nothing will happen to this guy.

The short of $64 million occurred from 2015 to 2018. Yet everyone there sat around on their hands and let LaPierre continue to run things until his resignation last week? It will be interesting to see what chief of staff Joshua Powell discloses.

No one was willing to bite the hand that fed them. They need a top to bottom cleaning. Fewer new members join each year. Their membership diminished greatly in the last three years. This is just another black eye that will keep memberships down. How are they going to woo new members? “Join the NRA, Wayne is gone now but the rest of us under his watch are all still here. We realize negligent oversight cost the NRA $64 million over the last few years, but we’ve cleaned up our act and promise to do the right thing.”

The cards are stacked against this guy. Those findings they uncovered aren’t made up. Sad that every BOD member sat back and were complicit with what went on. Sounds like one big fudd circle jerk. The whole lot should be eradicated and they should start anew. Better hope they can recover for if the NRA falls it will be a huge win for the anti’s.

Most quality shotguns dating back to the late 1800’s have serial numbers, particularly any doubles. I can’t speak for any “hardware store guns.” though. What most don’t have are paperwork of transfer of the infamous or NJ COE.

Anyone who thought this wouldn’t happen is fooling themselves. I’m all for constructing and building, but a certain element took it to the next level, and no one should be surprised. Like every other restriction, it’s always a small handful that ruin it for everyone else.

The costs are exorbitant, and we’re still dealing with a moving target and towns that continue to make up their own rules. I also don’t think the state is done. They will continue to throw up more roadblocks. My circle of friends are between the ages of 65 through 78. Everyone on a fixed income. Most of us have lived in New Jersey all our lives and never had a carry gun except for a couple who were in the service in another state while serving. None of us have ever had a need or situation for a firearm for needed protection either. Any cost, every two years, is a waste of money in today’s economy. My sights are set on moving, not wasting my money just to thumb my nose and give a raspberry to the politicians of this state. Politicians have banked on this. Call it retreating to higher ground, but New Jersey has been sinking into the cesspool for decades.
