  1. January 31, when it was published in the federal register. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2023/01/31/2023-01001/factoring-criteria-for-firearms-with-attached-stabilizing-braces

  4. This is highly inspirational to all the young girls learning how to be successful as a woman in the modern world: have a penis.
  5. Wishing all the women of the forums a Happy International Women's Day! To all the mothers, wives, and sisters, to all the daughters, friends and neighbors; may you embrace joy and freedom!
  6. Thanks for the feedback! Definitely agreed that focusing on the target is more natural. Like with shotgun shooting. Bit of both. With red dots I definitely focus on the target with some success. I'll see what happens focusing on the target with irons.
  7. So, I'm right-handed, left-eye dominant. I've been trying with both eyes lately, as I find the conscious effort to shut one eye can be distracting. I dry fire practice and I feel my grip and trigger pull are improving. However, my groups are getting progressively worse. I can still hit a competition circle within 25 yards. So, curious what thoughts or advice you all have. Can I still attain precision with both eyes open? I've been trying to still focus on the front sight; should I focus on the target instead?
  8. I have a gen 2 with a threaded barrel. Not sure if they're all always threaded. But can't you just pin and weld into the thread protector? That's what I have.
  9. Oh that's a good link, thank you! I previously got a few boxes of Federal from TargetSportsUSA to try out. A little more expensive @ .46/round, but I always have free shipping.
  10. This is what I ended up with... well, it's something different. Hope to try it soon
  11. This is my 92x and its new little brother. Very interested in the new 80X coming out. Anyone have an idea of when we'll start seeing it for sale?
  12. I've been playing a lot with Midjourney lately... here is the AI's take on mixing D-Day with dinosaurs.
  13. Kel Tec has a $100 rebate going for SUB2000s. Go for it, unless you prefer S&W's folding 9mm more. https://rapid-rebates.com/Keltec
  14. I came here to post about this! Remember everyone, "nobody needs a handgun" in Canada!
  15. You know your pistol is big when it has strap loops https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/performance-center-model-460xvr-hi-viz-fiber-optic-front-sight Thanks everyone for the input! Especially helpful to learn of the multi-caliber options. I'm honestly considering a ported Iver Johnson 1911 in 10mm. Anyone try those? Are there any disadvantages to porting?
  16. Hmmm that letter is from 2013? IIRC the ATF's presentation at shot show said that the new decision supersedes any previous decision.
  17. So far, my collection represents common calibers well. 9mm, 45acp, .357 magnum, .380, 22LR... I don't hunt, but would something new be worthwhile? Considering 10mm; wouldn't mind having another 1911 at all! How does the experience compare to 45? 5.7? Not many options, but seems interesting. Would be more tempted if we could get a full size mag into a PS90. Big bore handguns? Look fun, but don't want to spend $2+ a pop on ammo. Would entice better if it could handle common cartridges too. This gun is comically large but if it can be fitted to shoot 45ACP that would make it gather less dust: https://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-9mm-45-acp-revolvers/#h-4-ruger-redhawk Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!
  18. It doesn't matter, banning 70 round magazine assault weapons would work! It's like trickle down, but for guns. He has to take any opportunity to make people associate massive, double drum magazines with "high capacity" instead of 5+ or 10+.
  19. This is the issue. It's common to see them over $600 in local shops. For what it is, it's pretty cool: a backpack gun that can compliment your 9mm handguns. It is also more accurate than I expected. However: Out-of-the-box trigger is not good, but gets better on reset Getting a good cheek weld with iron sights is awkward, could consider RDO which sits higher It's all plastic. All Kel-Tec guns basically look like toys. Kel-Tec customer service is pretty good but keep the original retail receipt. Before I happened upon the SUB2000 in a shop I was pretty much set on the Ruger PCC. In general, Ruger makes good stuff. I wouldn't say I regret buying it, but it's in my top 3 of guns I probably should have thought twice about. But it still goes bang, and the unfold and charging handle slap is satisfying in its own way.
  20. This is a big deal. Once a case actually makes it to trial, it's a war of words and objective evidence. On its own, it might not be enough to cast guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But taken in context, especially in an absence of eyewitness testimony, camera footage, etc. it definitely only helps the prosecutor. The proverbial "reasonable person" has no drugs or alcohol in their bloodstream. Of course, the defense should provide objective medical evidence that their judgment was not impaired. It's a little bit like wearing shirts with the Punisher skull logo, plastering your car with Pro-2A stickers or putting a sign near your home, "we don't call 911", etc. Imagine if all of that applied to someone plus being a habitual user of a pot. The case could be made that the person's fabricating the situation for them to act out their gun fantasies. From my perspective, the best defense is to be a model citizen. It might avoid needing to use a gun at all.
  21. Why not both? There are so many skills you can practice at home with your carry weapon as well. It's just as important to feel comfortable carrying, readying, loading, and making the weapon safe. Dry fire practice is free, and you should do that. 22s are great. In any case, shooting more is always good.
  22. I had a similar thought today when I noticed the cigarettes behind the counter at the supermarket. I don't smoke, but I see NJ has the age at 21 to buy cigarettes. Ha! As if you can't find them at every school... I think it hurts our cause to double-barrel the activism. There are plenty of liberal gun owners. We really can't couple guns to any other ideology or stereotypes if we want to make progress. That's what the anti-2As are doing, trying to equate "assault weapons" with gun fetishism, machismo and political extremism.
  23. So 51% of the hand-selected ~1000 out of 300 million people means "Majority of Americans" support it. Tracks! The problem is, if you don't know anything about guns then "assault weapons" is a really loaded phrase. I think only the US and Canada have "assault weapon" legislation; most other places focus on what the weapon does, like semi-auto vs manual action, etc.
  24. This is exactly the problem and it's ridiculous, as is the idea that you're "modifying" a pistol with something immaterial to its function. They should just remove SBR from the NFA. Pistols are harder to buy than rifles (eg. age, permits, etc.) so nobody's getting around anything by "turning it into a rifle." If the argument is that SBRs are concealable, well, so is a Desert Eagle.
