  1. Page 5 on this link https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/docs/undefined/bracefinalruleguidance-non-commercial1-10/download Maybe it's not, but it looks extremely similar. I have to seriously laugh at the Glocks, though. Those alone highlight the absurdity. I guess one silver lining with not being able to get some pistols like MP5 clones is reduced headache from this ruling.
  2. I think people will need some time to digest and analyze the nearly 300 page document. Within a few weeks we should have more information with regards to "others" and what, if anything, we need to do to them. Prospect is bleak but not hopeless.
  3. Full Rule PDF is available for download here; https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/factoring-criteria-firearms-attached-stabilizing-braces I have not had time to read through this in detail yet. Opening this up for awareness and targeted discussion. Here are some examples that now become SBRs: https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/docs/undefined/bracefinalruleguidance-commerciallypdf/download https://www.atf.gov/rules-and-regulations/docs/undefined/bracefinalruleguidance-non-commercial1-10/download Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe I see a Troy A4 Other in their examples.
  4. I agree, maybe I should have used quotes on "honorable."
  5. NJ CCW holders during the TRO on sensitive places:
  6. This is one of the most dangerous things about anti-gun rhetoric. Anyone else recall when Chicago PD literally recommended people just give in to muggers' demands to be left alone? You can't bank on what a wicked person wouldn't do. Normal people don't shoot people for no reason, but they also don't rob at gunpoint. As far as shooting when he did... consider this: 1. It's survival. Shooting in the back isn't honorable, but neither is blinding someone with a flashlight. The goal is to not die. 2. The cone of fire was actually further away from the other patrons at that moment, so it was better for everyone else. We also can neither assume he is a "good guy" for stopping the robber nor can we assume he is a "bad guy" for leaving before the police showed up. All we can do is learn and understand to best prepare for the possibility.
  7. Thanks everyone, the consensus is clear. It's currently migrating south for the winter so we'll see what happens when it comes back
  8. For what it's worth, I'm decently happy with US Water Systems. Granted, they just supply the machines. But it's easy enough to connect yourself and doesn't require too much plumbing skill.
  9. No damage is obvious to me. Kel Tec is willing to take a look at it. Though they won't cover shipping and I'm anxious they'll just send it back as is...
  10. The trigger guard seems solid. It still pivots the same even if I hold the trigger guard down hard.
  11. Hopefully this video attachment works. It's been like this since I got it and didn't think much of it before. I don't see any cracks in the frame. 20230103_010714.mp4
  12. I mean when it's fully extended there is some play with the barrel end. Even when locked in, I can rotate the forearm just slightly enough to displace the sights. It's a gen 2 in 9mm. I thought it was just a side-effect of the folding design, but I see others have it rock solid once extended. It still shoots, but I feel the need to consciously pull the forearm down all the way.
  13. Hello all, I barely shot my sub-2000 but notice that the front half has some noticeable wiggle when it's fully extended. It makes a huge difference in the sight picture, which is already awkward on this gun. Calling KelTec, they say it's "normal" but they're willing to take a look if I send it in. Any thoughts? Is this something I should bother with?
  14. Thanks for the feedback everyone The common thread I see online is that the newer 21A Covert models fail more often. Seems people have better luck with the Inox or older blued models. I'm not ready to give up on this one. However, I know Beretta's customer service is awful right now. While it's rare, I have seen people have serious mechanical issues with this gun like the double action not working.
  15. Thanks for the feedback all. I have a decent stockpile of CCI minimags. Seems mileage varies, but discovered Beretta has a $75 on new tomcat and bobcat purchases: https://rapid-rebates.com/tomcat-bobcat Will see what happens Though a 1911 in .380ACP is also very interesting!
  16. Good excuse to admire some toys. Think these fit: 1960 model Ruger Single Six Walther PPK/S Stainless Beretta 92X 1911 from Sig Sauer with Wooden grips Smith and Wesson 66 Combat Magnum
  17. https://www.consumerreports.org/health/food-safety/lead-and-cadmium-in-dark-chocolate-a8480295550/ Apparently you can still indulge once in a while, but don't make it a daily thing! I'm definitely not introducing chocolate to my kids anytime soon.
  18. Thank you for this critical feedback! It does come across as a novelty at this point. From what I've read, it seems it doesn't actually have an extractor which could explain all the jams.
  19. For some reason I keep gravitating towards this gun. I believe a local shop has the covert model in 22LR: https://www.beretta.com/en-us/21a-bobcat-covert/ Any thoughts? It seems like like a neat fun little gun that can be shot on the cheap. If only we could get a suppressor...
  20. Bleeeech! Well, I guess I should apply for some pistol permits while they're $2 a pop...
  21. I used FedEx recently to ship a gun to Ruger. Technically, Ruger's the one creating the shipping label and they have a relationship with FedEx I've been advised to take a "don't ask, don't tell" stance on whether a gun is inside the box.
  22. In case anyone's a member, they have Blazer 9mm for ~25c/round. https://www.targetsportsusa.com/cyber-monday-c-2803.aspx
  23. Have fun all Really wish I could go. Maybe next time. Baby due any day now!
  24. Not sure if this is helpful or applicable, but just wanted to share my 2nd good experience with Ruger. Called Ruger on Oct. 24 about an extraction issue on my GP100. Shipped it next day They resolved the issue on Oct. 28th Shipped it on Oct. 31st Just got it today! Seems the cylinder is either replaced or polished up to fix the extraction issue. No questions, no fuss, no cost to me. Just results! So, if customer service is important to you, Ruger so far is amazing. They don't make everything on-site, but you will get a reasonable turn-around even if you have to wait on parts.
