  1. I applied in early November, finally got the call to pick up my permit on Monday. NJSP. Permit is a small piece of paper, no court order, no restrictions. Looks exactly like a FID plus my picture. I'm curious if I can carry any of my guns now or what. There is no instructions or anything. Might have to put a call into the barracks.
  2. I'm Sussex SP. Took 12 days start to finish. And took 6 days for the NICS. Just under 3 weeks from app to having the firearm. I was expecting much longer.
  3. I've been pondering this as well, there are no instructions of who can or cannot be used as a reference. I've used my inlaws for pistol permits for years now, no issues. How will this be handled with the carry permit? Also, what affect do the time limits (30 days, 60 days) have on this whole process? A friend of mine told me they were "automatically" issuing permits for anyone over the 60 days in his town (Clifton I believe), but I'm not sure how accurate that is. What's the point of having time frames on these things if nothing is bound to them? Ie. If not processed in X amount of time, then permit is deemed approved.... Thanks for any information.
  4. Yes, second this. I'm most curious of the restrictions. Sussex njsp here. Hopefully there is nothing crazy......
  5. I will be applying soon, Augusta SP here. Sad to hear how the process is going with this. It seems like you get less screwing around with a local PD than with the SP. I'll update when I have more information.
