NJ LAWMAKERS ANNOUNCE PLANS TO DESTROY RIGHT TO CARRY
TuscanRaider replied to M1152's topic in Pending Legislation Discussion
I took my training Oct 21 last year. Got my permit in mid Jan…..it already qualifies so I don’t need to go again. Interestingly enough you can renew 4 months early, and if you’ve qualified in the past two years you don’t need to go again. So if I time it right my qualifications from last year will STILL be good for my renewal next year :) -

I just did the same thing. Got refunded $127 from Costco LOL. I’ll stick with Sams. It’s closer and it has alcohol -

Thanks....I guess I'll let the Costco membership lapse and keep Sams Club. I didn't need both anyway! LOL -

You can carry it on any private property that doesn't have a sign prohibiting it. So the mall, Home Depot, grocery stores, CVS, Costco, the boardwalk, basically any retail establishment I've encountered. You can also take it to any BYOB. So while the ruling sucks, its far from no where. The only thing that that annoyed me is the restaurant that serves alcohol. Not that I ever drank while carrying, but it is limiting. For the most part, I'd say 75% of my routine has been uninterrupted. Lets hope we get a favorable ruling and not worry about the hoops we have to jump thru. -

Its referring to an establishment with a liquor license. If you walk into a restaurant and ask if they serve alcohol and the response is no, then you are in compliance. You can carry in a Burger King, and technically you can BYOB there. -

Also private property is still allowed….Costco, the mall, Lowe’s, ShopRite, etc. Most daily trips are still protected. -

Thx...much easier to digest that summary. What I also haven't seen anywhere is if, come July, do we need to disclose carrying to police at a traffic stop. -

I'm pretty sure I don't ever visit anyone who would say no, or even care. -

But most things are "normally open to the pubic" Restaurants, food stores, home depot, the beach, the movies, etc. The only things not normally open to the public are private residences. -

I'm sure this is well written and thorough, I just need to know what I have to do differently today as opposed to yesterday! -

They don't want to say how many apps were submitted or approved, because thousands of people have been carrying for months and there have been zero issues. Each day that goes by without incident makes them look worse. -

Maybe someone can summarize these and put them in a format that the average person can understand. I'd also be interested to see if someone with some legal background can grade them as to how well they were written and presented. I'm sure for a judge they are easy to decipher but it'll probably be another week before she rules. -
So you got you PTC... question
