Does anyone have approximate numbers of CCW holders in NJ currently?

It was sent to West Trenton on 3/17: Firearms Investigation Unit P.O. Box 7068 West Trenton, New Jersey 08628-0068 [email protected] - FARS or Permit to Carry applications (NON- RPO) However, they responded the same day that my application had been received and was pending approval/denial. So it probably was an automatic reply. I then received an email from NJSP Totowa in the afternoon of 3/20 telling me the permit was ready for pickup. I drove there later that afternoon to pick up the permit. The permit was dated 3/14/23. So I don't have any indication that the email sent to W. Trenton had any effect. Yes, I know, the chronology does not make sense, but that is what it is. We can only hope that they get better organized, standardized, and make it possible for applicants to determine the actual status of their application. FYI, I had applied at Totowa on 10/25/22.

My car has a lockable center console large enough to store a handgun. I am not certain if that would comply with the law. It looks as though this law was rammed through in haste like a similar one in NY State. It's the administrative handling in the small space of a vehicle that bothers me. Before I retired, I was carrying a handgun in the cockpit of the aircraft of a major air carrier. (BTW, we were trained by the Air Marshal Service) It was never removed from the holster when moving it from my hip to another location for the same reason. In the 20 or so years since that has been authorized, there has been one accidental discharge, and I don't believe it took place in the aircraft. Unfortunately, the law has been written by the people who don't want us to carry. Thanks for the url for the gun safe; I do need a new one.

I'm sorry. I have been away and have not checked the forum. I went to Pike County. I completed the on-line application and received an email returned withing 24 hours inviting me to call them for an appointment. That was March 1, and they gave me an appointment for March 14. I was in and out in 5 minutes. They took my photo and issued me the permit, nicely laminated. They were very pleasant. Due to the snowstorm here, I called and postponed it one day.

There were no restrictions on which handguns I can carry. The permit is printed on a continuous page that folds over with my photo on the back. There also was printed "Employee of armored car company". I inquired about that and was told that it does not apply to me and that the box next it was not checked. It also said "This card may be laminated". The chronology follows: Oct. 25, 2022 Applied at NJSP Totowa for PTC. Jan. 17, 2023 Sent update request to Totowa SP, auto reply said I would be contacted by court or SP when permit is approved/denied. March 17, 2023 Sent request to NJSP Firearminvestunit, reply same day said my application was received, pending approval/denial. March 20, 2023 Received email from NJSP to come pickup the permit.

NY resident here. I sent an email to NJSP Firearms Investigating this morning asking for the status of my application. They answered that they have received my application and it is awaiting approval/denial. Next week will be 5 months since I applied at the Totowa NJSP. I guess that's progress, but it would be helpful if they volunteered more information regarding their schedule.

Hi Folks, NY resident here. I applied on line to Pike County on 3/1. They asked me to call for an appointment, which turned out to be today, 3/15. I went there today and picked it up. In and out in 5 minutes with a very nicely laminated permit. They were very pleasant, even friendly.

That's good to hear. I am a resident of Orange County, NY. I hope the NJSP will feel the same as the Morris County Superior Court. I qualified with an additional firearm since my application. I applied at Totowa 10/25/22. Still waiting, though my $50 money order was cashed a week ago.

I spoke to Discover this morning and expressed my objections. I also told them that I am discontinuing all purchases using their card. I am not canceling the card, since that may affect my credit rating or FICO score. I have been a Discover customer for 32 years.
