  1. I go to the B Hole usually around 11 am or around 4pm on weekdays, and Im often there completely alone! or with one or two other people. Its really nice when its just me, theyve seen me there enough that they will just leave me in there, and even let me keep shooting past my time if I so desire. It is small, and can be very crowded (I went to shoot on a weekend once, and it was insane!) but they have a very large selection.
  2. That would be great! any leads on where or who it is?
  3. Hello and welcome, glad to see you here. I am a new shooter and would love to learn more about reloading.
  4. Great to have you here! Welcome.
  5. Yes with the economy being what it is, being in a business this brisk and in demand... it just doesnt make sense! I sell online and my business has been hurting. I actually looked into selling guns online as well, and found out I could do it pretty easily. Hard part is getting them cheap enough to still make a profit after all the fees, transfers, etc.. If anyone were to buy that store they would have a very sucessful turnkey biz. I wouldnt be surprised if NJ has just made it too hard for another person to get their dealers license and step in. Ive heard gun shop owners in Jersey say that the state is not even "giving any more out" . Not sure how this works though.
  6. Springfield 1911 Loaded Glock 19 Taurus PT 845 Glock 23 wish list: S&W .357 Ruger LCP Springfield XDM 9mm (if they ever release anti-2nd amendment state hating 15 rd mags!) and all the other guns I fall in love with whenever Im drooling behind the cases...
  7. What I have defiinitely discovered, in my short time of shooting, is that you DEFINITELY just have to hold each gun. Preferably shooting first would be great, but I havent found any local places that rent out guns. Personally, I love the Glock 19. It is my favorite gun for sure. It just fits perfectly in the hand, and I am the most accurate with this one. That is why I also got the same gun in .40 cal, the Glock 23. I had the extended slide release and ext. mag release put on both of these as well. Then I dremeled down the ext mag release (which is a bit big) to where its rounded out nicely. This has been the perfect gun for my hand. But since I have not fired the M&P, who knows what Im missing! So in my world, I recommend the Glock 19 for 9mm, and definitley a 1911 for .45 (Colt, Springfield, even a Taurus if low on funds)
  8. Yeah, I dont know what to think. There are a few sites online all about it, for example: but you know how the net is, you can find anything under the sun, but then you have to sift through about 90% BS and ads to get to any truth! I just got a little paranoid with what the shops were saying, but it doesnt really matter- The only places I go wont let me shoot it anyway! I guess I will just stash this in case of a SHTF scenario, then I wouldnt give a damn! The other thing that gets me on all of the info online with all the ugly pics of guns blowing up, they never really talk about the shoooter? Like, is the hand still there? Injuries? Basically what I get from all this is that there is probably an incredbily rare chance that my gun could blow up, and if it did, I would probably be fine! The driving trip to the range is probably the most dangerous part of shooting! Im not going to worry about it. thanks for the info guys.
  9. Thats funny, when folks at The Bullet Hole find out that I moved from Texas to Jersey, they do look at me like there is something really wrong with me!! Its a very funny look i get.
  10. Man, thats a real shame. Ive called them a few times and never made it out there. I had no idea it was that big! Wish Nissan would keep the range intact in the back!! Maybe an incentive, buy a car, get a gun, and get to shoot today!! My hat goes off to Rays.
  11. Welcome Cemeterys Gun Blob, nice to see another JC native here! I just applied for 2 more pistol permits, they are definitly quick on these in Jersey City, I dis it on wed. so should have it monday. Then Im going to be in trouble... its a much different feeling when you go into guns shops KNOWING you could walk out with whatever you want that day! The last 2 times buying it has been a decent wait, they say that the gov. of Jersey has cut down their employees to do the background check, and on top of that they are not even calling back, just faxing! So when I go to the Bullet Hole to buy a gun, I pick it out, then go to a local restaurant and slowly eat as I await that call! Its been a taking a hr or two. I havent seen any shortage on pistols around JC, only rifles... anything cool looking resembling an M4 or AR15 is gone the day it comes in!
  12. Welcome to the site. Yes, if we could get enough people to write the lawmakers, we could actually get a conceal carry law in!! It all depends on how loud we can bug the hell out of them! Be sure to check out the post where you email your local reps about this.
  13. Ive only had my guns about 6 months here. Yeah the process is pretty smooth, and when I went back to apply for a couple new forms to purhase handguns, it only took about 5 days for them to be ready, and $2 per form. I have found that these forms burn a hole in my pocket, if I go into a gun store, and have a form that allows me to walk out with a handgun, Im in trouble! Im not getting any more for a while, and the wife seems to think this is enough handguns for now!! (she has no problem collecting multiple shoes though!) I didnt bring any guns from TX, but I REALLY wish I did. Im a bit paranoid with having each gun registered with the state, as all it would take is a stroke of a pen and they would come and take them away. I would prefer to have at least one unregistered pistol in my possession, but I dont want to risk a serious felony like this. I found the one and only loophole to this, if i had a gun in tx, say in my family, and my father had given it to me, I could have just brought it down in the moving truck, in a box unloaded, no mags with it, and kept it in the house here. Gun shop owners and police officers have both told me this is the only way I could keep an unregistered gun in my home. Of course none of them are lawyers so who really knows? the gun I really want is the new Springfield XDM, but not until they make it in smaller cap. magazines. This gun looks amazing!
  14. beautiful flyers! EVERYONE on this board needs to do this! 15. I own a Glock 23, and on a trip upstate NY I recently bought 500rds of Wolf ammo in .40 and another 500 in .45 cal. It was a good price and I though I had made a good score. Now after asking around local shops Im hearing a lot of bad things... After researching everything I could find online, I also see their are a lot of people who claim that a Glock 23 has much more of a possibility of actually blowing up in your hand while shooting! Does anyone have any personal experience with Wolf ammo, and/or Glock Kaboom problems? One funny thing I have found in my short time as an avid shooter, is that every shop around me has "experts" and their advice is often the EXACT OPPOSITE of the others!! So Im not sure who to believe. I do shoot at The Bullet Hole in Belleville, and they wont allow Wolf ammo on their range. thanks
