  1. Fact is there inevitably will be a time you have to do business where there's a no.guns sign.
  2. Yes, laws do infringe on Constitutional Rights with good reason. You have the right to demonstrate but the government can require you to get a permit. The 4A protects you against unreasonable searches by the government but there are a bunch of exceptions to warrantless searches. All Constitutional Rights have exceptions ruled by the courts. And that's in the COTUS. I could go on but that's not the point of this thread. If you'd like to discuss it further pm me.
  3. They will surface sooner if not later Europe and other places.
  4. You are seriously misunderstanding me. I'm far from a Constitution of Convenience person. I don't have an idea how you arrived at that possibility. I might believe more in the COTUS than you seem to think you do. Paraphrasing Scalia said the COTUS says a lot of things. Scalia also said there are a lot of things the COTUS doesn't say. Out and out authoritarian? What did I say to make you come to that conclusion? The first paragraph in my post is a fact. A fact that is written into.the COTUS. Do you believe in that process? You mention judicial review in another post in this thread? That is written into the COTUS also. Do you believe in that? Yes, many times courts rule in a manner I don't care for but I'm a big boy and learn to live with it or find a way around it. I'm not going to go around whining. That accomplishes nothing. There are many laws that one might say are "contrary" to the COTUS. But they've passed judicial review and they are the law of the land. This law restricting the sale of LC ammunition is going nowhere. I mentioned earlier in this thread it is only a bill and really doesn't stand much of a chance of passing. Concern yourself more with the border.being shut down. All this would take is a EO by Biden he could do in a few minutes.
  5. Reminds me of a line i used when someone would pull a knife on me. I'd pull gun, not point it at.anyone, hold it in the air and ask, "what do.you think.this is, a pretzel?".
  6. Sounds like a wordgame but you do have a point.
  7. Hmm...what is the purpose of informing him you're armed? He's threatening you? In what manner? Do you hope to scare him off?
  8. Okay, a bill in Congress is a proposal. Nothing else. One can introduce a bill to suspend the COTUS. A bill.is meaningless until it is passed by both houses and signed by POTUS. Then it is a law. Then it means something. If a law were passed forbidding Lake City ammo production to civilians (and it won't be for the time being) that does not infringe on your 2A rights. You still can get 5.56 elsewhere. Laws do "infringe" on Constitutional Rights at times for good reason.
  9. Do you wear an exposure suit and 2 life jackets when you go kayaking? Do you wear body armor at the range? Do you have a roll cage in your car? I'm not blowing this lead contamination off. I think some people do too much.
  10. Okay I waa a police firearms instructor for ove 30 years. We used to get lead exposure tests periodically. Always okay. Your regimenn is excessive. Back off. I used to run a firingline. Indoor and outdoor range. Used to drink my coffee running the qualification line. If I was shooting I'd wash my hands. You're doing too much.
  11. 5.56 would be okay too as long as it's not made in Lake City. Typical liberal eye wash.
  12. If you don't use the app they'll add them to your card or phone number at the courtesy counter.
  13. One needs to read the state law. One CC state used to allow concealed carry for residents only. Non-residents could open carry.
  14. $2.85 at a gas station coming out of the Holland Tunnel Monday.
  15. Okay, IANAL, however please find me a case where a NJ gun owner defended themselves or shot an armed felon threatening them thar was prosecuted. I think so many NJ gunowners are overconsidered they will be prosecuted they will die. I've said this before. If you are arrested for a shooting you don't need a "gun lawyer". You need a good criminal defense lawyer.
  16. @Displaced Texan that's what I carried as a duty gun from 1989 to about 1993. A PT99AF with adjustable sights. During that time the only problem I has was the rear sight leaf broke. Sent it back with about a 2 week turnaround. I put about 10,000 rds through it and it's still running strong. Bought a 669 (S&W M19 clone) about the same time. I've put more than 6000 rds of full magnums through it. Still tight. I've seen personally S&W M66s go out of time at 1500 rds and one blowing out its cylinder at 400 rds. Our personal experience is the biggest factor in forming our opinions.
  17. I've had Taurus' for 35 years. Never had an issue. Carried one as a duty gun. I have several 1911s. If I carry one it's the Taurus. My EDC is a Taurus. I can't understand all this Taurus hate.
  18. About 30 years ago I went to a DEA school. Part of the training was a block of instruction was from a DEA chemist. Fenatyl was around but not as prevalent. He told us that 7 grains of salt, if it were Fenatyl, would be fatal. Not sure of the weight but I remember that.
  19. "All.those contractors" didn't file civil suits against Trump to recover their losses? I think it suspicious they didn't.
  20. Okay, many of us carry knives. But few of us really know how to knife fight. This is one of those things. Imo use a knife to defend yourself. It will be okay, no pursuit of prosecution, or a prosecutor in this state go after you.
  21. Okay as you're a great guy I'll tell you the dream guns I already own. Number 1 is a German made, mid 60s, Walther PPK in 32. The gun Bond was issued. I had one of my best friends gift me the gun years ago before I was back in NJ. I wanted one at 12 years old when I started reading Bond books in the 7th grade (pretty racy for the 7th grade in a Catholic school!). I only carried it once on a trip to GA. Back in the 80s, a 2 1/2 inch Model 66 Smith was the real Agent's gun. I didn't get one until after I retired. One of my favorite carry guns. I carry it with +P+ 38s which don't give up much to 357s. Model 10 Smiths. I had.one in Vietnam. Only 130 gr hardball but it worked for me. Had a 2" Model 64. Thar worked for me too. Sorry I traded it off. Still have a 4" Model 10 and a 4" Model 64. Garands.Bought several thru CMP when they deliver them to the door in NJ. I sold some.of them to friends. A tanker in.308 (you know who.youre are, and a stock Garand.). I keep my Danish return with a VAR barrel. Wanted a "Sniper Rifle". Went thru a few. Got a Savage Scout. 2.75 Burris. Best group was .6" at 100 yds. If they're over 200 yds, I don't have to shoot. I can run away. I have an 03 shorter that will shoot 2" at 100. All practical stuff. The guns Carlos Hathcock used would only shoot 2" at a 100. I'm no way good as he was.
