  1. This clip is from an old USAToday article, but I figure the numbers are probably bigger now... I remember hearing this while listening to Jim Gearhardt (Miss the guy). It's obscene. "The Reason Foundation says New Jersey spends just over $2 million per state-controlled mile on construction, maintenance and administration, triple the roughly $675,000 spent by the next-highest state, Massachusetts, and more than eight times the national average of $162,200."
  2. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/01/25/energy-boom-renewables-fossil-fuels/ "The best-kept secret in American politics today: Almost every kind of energy is booming. Oil, natural gas, renewables — production of nearly every major source of energy has recently touched all-time highs. In fact, production of each has roughly doubled since 2000. While U.S. crude oil production plummeted early in the pandemic and took time to recover, field production has reached new highs in the past few months, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reports. In September and October (the most recent months for which data is available), U.S. oil producers were pumping 13.2 to 13.3 million barrels per day, exceeding the pre-pandemic peak of 13 million in late 2019 under Trump. To put this in perspective, the United States is producing more oil than any other country in history." * (me) Just to be clear, this isn't intended to make Biden look good. Oil is a global commodity that he or Trump, or any President, have very little control over.
  3. I was recently in my local bike shop and got talking to the owner about the proliferation of ebikes. He mentioned the biggest problem was when people would bring in some of the cheaper ones for repair and the parts had to be ordered from China. I agree, stick to known names and US made.
  4. Putin on the Ritz. It takes an old mind
  5. Sorry if I missed it somewhere else, what about if you yourself are NRA certified rifle, pistol and RSO?
  6. Asked on another Board ... "Where can't you carry in your state?" https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/where-cant-you-carry-in-your-state.907335/
  7. I saw a chart recently that compared the dollar in 2000 to now. $1 is now worth .59 cents.
  8. And for the win, 26 cents (1965).
  9. Make sure to clean out the bore and bolt face with soapy water. Enough to get the salts out.
  10. I think he killed his mother before going to the school.
  11. Once you apply for this it would most likely be entered into a database and shared with all other insurers. Would the fact that you own guns be used to rate other policies? Probably. Big dog? Higher homeowners.
  12. No, that was just tiling floor and shower enclosure. Nothing else.
  13. It's locked up, but it has the flaming bomb and either 41 or 43. A two-groove. I'm going to get it out later and take a close look. Possible I can "recalibrate" the peep closer to center. I'll let you know. And yes, nice rifle there!
  14. We just had a local contractor come in and give us an estimate to do a small bathroom with a shower. The pan is old and stained and there's a 4" stepover. We wanted to re-tile the whole floor and have a flush entry like Siderman said, as well as re-tile the shower walls. Nothing else. His number was $16,000!
  15. Hmm, must just be mine. When zeroed I'm a few cranks to the left.
  16. I was looking at the pic and noticed that the rear site wasn't centered. I have a really nice and accurate 03a3, but the rear site is off to the left. Was this common in these rifles?
  17. I'm driving a 2014 F150 STX; last of the steel bodies. Had it since new with zero problems. I looked at the Ridgeline a few years ago and was seriously tempted. They have a lot of nice convenience features. The only problem was the smaller bed. I don't haul a lot of stuff, but I need the room for bikes, kayaks, firewood and the occasional load of 4x8 sheets. The 6 1/2 bed is perfect.
  18. https://www.pistolpetesgunsnj.com/ He's located just off 541 near 206. Hopefully he can help.
  19. Looking at CMP's main website, it seems they have very little available. Does the store have a bigger inventory? I remember getting my Garand around 15 years ago. It was shipped directly to me and left at the front door! When the NJAG learned of the practice they almost soiled themselves and immediately made it illegal.
  20. Ouch, you're right. While you're humoring me, DiNero made the difference.
  21. Years ago I had a small dog - under 10 lbs., and the vet said that small dogs will usually not need surgery, but larger dogs yes. It took her a few months, but it resolved itself. It did happen again to the other leg. Same results. Years later Red Bank in Cherry Hill treated her cancer. I was very impressed with them.
  22. Is this condition where the ligament in the rear leg slips out of place?
  23. My advice (73 y.o.) would be to take the factory job, but continue to work on your life plan. Factories close. Technical skills will be what's in demand. I wish you much luck.
