  1. Lambo... Its not a scout.. dont try to make it one. If you wanted a Scout you should have waited on a Scout Model from SA. The standards are good to go for the Irons (BEST IN THE WORLD by the way) and adding a scope mount (Basset, ARMS, Springfield) with a good scope and cheek rest (mandatory). Go to m14forums.com Read and learn. there is a ton of information there.
  2. Golf Battery... I will take that problem rifle off your hands!!!!
  3. My Tavor. Ordered a Factory Refurb LH Model from Old West Scrounger in a fit of overtiredness from working long hours. I could not be happier after putting 100rds through it yesterday. I was able to get it on paper with a 3" group offhand at 50yds and it was Minute of Man at 300yds off of a rest. Those shot were with a TA11 3.5 ACOG and using two eyes open. More on that later. I received the rifle Thurs from TJ's Sporting Arms (big shout out for his patience and ease of scheduling) and got it home and started some small modifications. Probably the nicest rifle package I have ever opened. Comes with the best manual i have ever read, a very useful cleaning kit, sight tool Gieselle Trigger went in first. ( I did not even want to experience the MOE trigger. The Gieselle was purchased on sale for $250 ) Manticore Curved Buttstock Pad. ( This is 100% required as the original pad is to tacky, and mishaped. ) Midwest Industries Tavor Extended Keymod Handguard with 1" Light Kit and a Primary Arms 700 Lumen Light ( The light unfortunately crapped the bed after X amount of rds. It will be going back to PA ) Magpul SVG Slapped the ACOG on and away we go. One thing about this rifle is the EASE, and let me repeat the EASE which one can use an ACOG sight on in the correct fashion. Once you find the correct eye relief position for the unit, I was able to focus both eyes beyond the sight/rifle on the target area and have the optic appear in my FOV. No repositioning no moving of head. Its there and its usable and its accurate. 5 hits on an 8" steel plate at 50yards... no problem. 300 yard Man sized paper target of a bench / elbows... no problem. Now I want to really dial in the accuracy. I am going to get a rest or a bipod and see if I can get this down to 1" or under at 50yds. I have some different weight rounds I want to try as well. Function was flawless... no a big test yet but no issues. Only hangup I caused with a weak bolt pull and release. Mag drops and changes are stupid fast and easy with the bolt release right at your thumb. Balance and weight are so nice, it seems to a really nice mixture. Like a really good baseball bat, it heavy enough to drive a ball with without being whippy or to fast with through the strike zone. Overall... Great purchase. a ton of upside and potential. Small issues, such as learning to feel when the mag runs dry as it is not have a a big tactile alteration when empty, gas escaping the right hand ejection port making my left eye water on two shots. Overall a 9 out of 10 !!!! AFTER / BEFORE PHOTOS.
  4. Example of how mainstream preparedness has become http://www.cdc.gov/phpr/images/Zombie_Poster_highres.pdf .... or http://www.cdc.gov/phpr/zombies/#/page/3
  5. Hey all following up. you would be surprised at the level of effort we put into self-reliance. That is the number one goal here, for every person to be a Emergency Manager for their families and friends. Have a plan. Have a backup plan. Practice it. What failed... what worked. Repeat. Being self reliant is not being a prepper, its about being a good citizen.
  6. Throughout April and May communities around the nation will hold preparedness events, including group discussions, drills, and exercises. There are tools and resources available to help implement and amplify those efforts. There are several things – easy, basic but important measures – that we can do this weekend while we are at home. Create or update a family emergency communication plan. Visit ready.gov/prepare and download Be Smart. Take Part: Create Your Family Emergency Communication Plan. Collect the information in the checklist, decide on the places you will meet in case of an emergency, share the information with your family, and practice your plan. Download and update the FEMA app on your smartphone and tablet. Our FEMA app just got a refresh. Update your FEMA app and check out the new reminder feature allowing users to receive safety and preparedness tips. Make sure you get everyone in your family to download the app too. Gather important documents and keep them in a safe place. Have all of your personal, medical, and legal papers in one place, so you can evacuate without worrying about gathering your family’s critical documents at the last minute. Visit ready.gov/prepare and download Be Smart: Protect Your Critical Documents and Valuables for a helpful checklist. Visit the America’s PrepareAthon! website, ready.gov/prepare for more information and to register your participation.
  7. I would like to say to people is this... just because your house has not been touched by water in XXX years, they don't call it a 100yr Flood Plain for no reason. You bought the house there, you have to deal with the problem. You should have purchased another home... simple. The entire reason why FI is so high is to keep you from buying in the flood plain in the first place. That money gets used to buy out homes from people that bought in areas they should not attempt to live in. And no flood ever follows the exact line of delineation. If you are close, you still might want to get a policy, especially people in urban settings as Storm Water Flooding is getting more and more prevalent. Now, that being said, I will jump off the soap box and say go to the Fema web site and download the forms required for exclusion from the flood zone. Hire a surveyor who specializes in doing a Height Evaluation and Certificate. They will check your Base Elevation and get a Height Elevation Certificate. Then depending on results, you will contact the mortgage company. you can also check this out yourself somewhat by using some simple tools to see if it is even worth the investing the money in the surveyor. Go to Google Earth. DL the FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer ( Look up your address. See where you are relatively... are you in 1% (100yr), 0.2% (500yr) or floodway. Turn on the Cross Sections and know your homes elevation from your survey. If it is close... with a couple of feet then I would look into it. If you are equal to or lower... Move.

    Which 45 to get?

FNX Tac and I think I know of one for sale..... PM me if interested
  11. I defend him... his prices are not always the best. He buys what he can when he can and resells. Sometimes he has great deals and sometimes he does not. Hit and miss. But when you hit it is always worth it.
  12. Why not a SIG Scorpion 1911 Carry.... That Kimber runs about $1500+... that is alot of coin. And I would get DW Valor over the Kimber anyday.
  13. As an aside... those were federal officers. That's National Park Land there and the greens unis are NPS LEO.
  14. FYI... the Magnun Research Desert Eagle 1911 is a scremaing deal in the $700 range. Three things that really make it stand out at this price, beveled magewell, trigger guard is machined for a high hand grip and no fps. It will be my next 1911
  15. Paul at Arms-n-ammo has RIA Tacticals in stock. I do agree on the RIAs being a very good buy and are tough. But they were below your price range so I did not include them. http://www.colddeadhands.com/firearms.htm
  16. It is up and running. I have not gone down there yet except for one occurrence. It is open on Saturdays for tours and new members I believe. It might go by a different name now...
  17. Hagues seem to be the place where new shooters go, get educated and move on. Go to Bob's in Glassboro, not too far away. Good selection, better prices and Bob the owner is a BIG 2A advocate in NJ. I cant say the same about anyone at Hagues, never seen them involved outside their store. Might want to look up USANA in Elmer as an outdoor range. You would not be the only shooter within 5 miles of Hagues that make a longer trip tp a range and avoid the place.
  18. I will take a 10" and a 12". I will add an 8" if more become available.
  19. .22lr is better then a thrown rock. If you don't have a suitable carry gun, any gun. I think ridiculing someone for the size of their gun is a little my schwartz is bigger then yours.
  20. I will give you my experiences from carrying in Georgia for 5yrs before moving here. I carried a 1911 Springfield loaded or a colt cc if my wardrobe choices could make it disappear. I did not enjoy carrying it in the hot day there so I would switch to a g19. I currently only have a SIG 1911 tacops and a SIG gsr rail on the way. These will be my carry out of state and I will be happy. If you shoot 1911 well... Carry it.
  21. My post was in jest for the serious people. I used that map to educate out of state disaster relief employees after Sandy. One of the best of its kind.
  22. It works great... Split it at Interstate 195. We can build the Trenton-Brick wall and seal it off.
