  1. I just purchased 4 500rd Winchester Dynapoints for $23 each at the Dicks in Mt. Laurel / Moorestown area. There are 4 boxes left that I felt it would be fun leaving there and see how fast they would disapear.
  2. they redid the 2340/2009 as the 2022 to go to a uniform integral rail and get away from the proprietary one that was on the 2340/2009. 2022 goes as the SP2022.... still on their website. If you see one for a good price, I would try it... it is hard to find 15rd NJ legal 9mms nowadays in a modern design. Everyone is trrying to reach that 20rd cap target think....
  3. Mak, A shooting buddy of mine had a SIGPRO 2009 and used it for IDPA. I really liked that gun. It had a long trigger pull, but when it broke, it broke clean and crisply. It had less reoil then a 226 I had at the same time, I dont know if that was the polymer absorbing or the grip angle, either way it was totally subjective. It was very accurate, their was no arguing that fact. It was easy to shoot and shoot well. The grip feels big but I that is just the rounded design of the grip that fills your hand. 15rd capability cant be beat in NJ. They used to sell the 2009 and the 2340 for under $400... I might pay $500 for one...
  4. medic... thanks. I am going to come with my p6 and only two mags anyway. I am just not comfortable with my FNP45 as of yet to try and compete with it, as well as finding a suitable holster for it. If I cant finish a string because it is more then 17 rds, then i will throw rocks at the remaining targets.
  5. Great to hear Ron... I will be there... question for you since your involved there. How many mag changes can I expect per stage? It will determine which gun I bring.

  7. All, I was planning my entire weekend around going to SJSC to shoot IDPA this Sat. I checked it tonight and see that they have cancelled all matches as the "re-organize" IDPA. What happened?
  8. Shotguns are totally personal. It is my experience that you will possibly look long and hard till you find the perfect shotgun for you. I like SxS, I dont like OU, but I shoot an A5 semi the best. You need to just start with something that fits you correctly. FIT is the most important component of shotgun shooting. Please take the time to find out how a shotgun should fit your frame, and then find one that does fit. It will help you score much better. I found that I have a longer LOP then normal...but I already had gotten myself used to shooting shorter guns. So it took me some time to re-adjust my sight picture and swing to a longer stock. Have fun... shotguns are a blast.
  9. you know... I like it. I love my standard 597 and this one looks like a blast. Cheaper then the GSG also...
  10. Cherry Hill.... seriously, I dont even have to look. NO DISCHARGE... not even bows. I had a target bale setup in my back yard (1 acre of woods) and a friend/cop buddy of mine told me not to get caught or piss of the neighbors because it was verboten.
  11. wow... I did not know that revolvers would even need defending/ Revolvers are inherently more accurate, easier to shoot well, more reliable by far, most times cheaper then an autoloader especially on the used market, they carry and conceal well and are made of steel. If you pick up a revolver made in the period of the late 1800s through the 1980s you have a piece of history in your hands, a time when America meant quality, strength and freedom. The mechanics of a revolver, the precision of the work, the deep blueing of the steel and the finish/checkering of the grips harken back to a better day, when people cared what they made and the customer cared about what they purchased. Sure there where cheap guns out there for that market, but people did not buy overpriced cheap guns, because they knew what quality was. I dont hate todays guns... I have many modern designs and current guns. But, when I am told I have to pay big bucks for a plastic gun that took a worker 20 minutes to build with stamped steel parts, because it is the utmost in todays quality firearms... well that pisses me off. For the same amount of money I can go out and buy 2 or 3 used revolvers... that is what I prefer to do. I currently own 3 revolvers.. a S&W Model 19, a Ruger GP100 w/ 3" barrel and a S&W Model 15. I am looking for a good used .45acp revolver and am thinking about a .41mag. Personally, I hope all people stop shooting revolvers for awhile... more for me.
  12. As I await the start of a new position I can honestly say that I do spend to much time on here during the day. But.... I should be spending more time shooting.
  13. must have been the tools day off. I had great service and got a great deal on the S&W.
  14. Well I did it again. I went down to Lawmen to get a new holster and mag pouch for my SIG P6, I wish to use it in a IDP match next weekend. And Lawmen carries all sorts of gear, so I new I would find something. I did, a nice Safariland kydex and mag pouch. I then found a nice little flashlight, a leather shooters sling, some ammo and a Smith and Wesson 15-3 in 85% condition. Walk in for $40 worth of stuff and walk out wondering how I am going to pay next months visa bill. The guys there are great, very knowledgeable and friendly. Store is jammed with gear.. you name it its there. Gun wise the sell SIGS and some model Glocks to LE only. The sell used guns, longuns and other handguns to civieis. This has something to do with pricing structures for LE vs Civie from Glock and SIG. I will go back... nice visit.
  15. The state check was enacted years before the NICS check was started by the feds. It is redundant now and should be done away with, a effort is underway being pushed by local dealers. The dealers really feel the push of the state check, they get charged for every call, even dropped ones. They are pushing the governor hard on this. It is a serious waste of twp taxes having these detectives run down this info, then 75% or so are wrong anyway.
  16. Anyone ever go there and check them out or do business with them? They have Yugo Mausers for saleplus lots of surplus parts. FAL parts kits.... yummy. Let me know what you find
  17. Why not just find a excellent condition Yugo m24 and spend the money on ammo. They are just fancied up Yugos, nothing you could not do with some elbow grease and time. Heck.. check Samco http://www.samcoglobal.com/m24.html
  18. Square Circle Sportsmen and Wolf Creek in Atlanta, but that is a hell of a commute.
  19. morning planting tomato plants at community garden... noon at Square Circle for a Memorial Day Observance... then BBQ at local swim club with family and friends.
  20. not a member... but this is one of my favorite 2A sites. http://www.jpfo.org/ And since I was raised and educated in Cherry Hill (my class was 70% members) I consider myself an unofficial member. Hell I did not even date a christian girl until I moved to Georgia.
  21. http://www.southjerseyshootingclub.com/Activities1a.htm Chiro... check this out.
  22. Ron, I am planning to come to your june shoot. I am looking forward to shooting a club competition again. That was some good info you posted much better then I was able to give. Thanks.
  23. I think I shot 60 rds at one match, because we only had a few people show up and we did an extra round. 50rds is good, but bring another 50 in the car just in case. I have never heard of the 10rd mag cap rule. It that NJ only? Usually in the scene it is dictated what needs to be done... such as 6rds into two target ---> move ---> mag change ---> 4 rds into two more targets. I dont think I ever emptied a 15rd mag from cap to emtpy at a match. But... and this is a big but... I never shot IPSC or IDPA outside. Where you going and when?
  24. What the hell is "unwanted guest" comment about? Aren't all burgulars "unwanted guests"? I dont think there are enought details out yet, but this sounds like a domestic dispute gone bad, not a shooting of a burglar in defense of ones home. Can you keep us posted?
