You can usually pre-order them on budsgunshop.com and just wait for springfield to manufacture them. You might wait half a year......but you won't pay above MSRP.

I hardly ever post here, but I felt compelled to after reading some of these posts...... 1st. You CAN'T compromise on your basic human rights! Someone said it before, but 20 round magazines and yearly training sounds great now (assuming it stops the progressives from demanding more gun control in the present) but what happens after the next school shooting when a deranged family member steals guns with 20 round magazines and shoots 30 people? Then it will be 10 round magazines, 6 months training, etc etc.......With every compromise, we gain NOTHING, and lose more. Gain nothing, lose more. 2nd. I've never been on a two way range and I know very few who have. If it came to confiscation and rebellion, I don't know if I'd have the courage. If they came came to my door maybe I'd surrender what I have to live to fight another day. But I'll be damned if I don't believe there's a single Paul Revere or others of that caliber living in this country right now that would fight the good fight. Calling people out for saying they wouldn't stand up to law enforcement/federal agents/national guard just because its 2013 is naive. How does time change American patriots desire for freedom? Or is it being said there are no American patriots left? I know I don't buy that. It's hard to be the first to stand up for what you believe in, but once one does, mob mentality shows us many others will join. History shows us that it's ignorant to believe the US will live on forever the way as it is now. Between an internal revolution or attempted takeover from the outside, I'll put my money on internal revolution every time. I don't know, there's so much fail going on in this thread right now maybe I'm all wrong. Maybe we are headed the way of England/Australia.

If background checks were available for FTF sales, I probably would do this before a sale, but mandatory...nope.

Background checks could be optional for face to face, but mandatory... it only takes 10 minutes.........well why do you need 30 round mags.......it only takes 5 seconds to change a mag......5-10 rounds is more than enough!

To me, "Shall not be infringed" means, "shall not be infringed." I feel some who lived in New Jersey have become numb to what this really means. Most gun owners I assosciate with are proponents of personal responsibility. Why should I be restricted in selling my personal property? Do we want background checks on knife sales, bat sales, car sales? It's beyond my control what happens to my property once I sell it. If I were to sell a gun to someone and they use it in a crime, it's not the "non background checked gun" causing them to do it, it's their own sick mind. I fully believe they would have found another way, another gun to do it. If you really believe the bill of rights are unalienable, why would you compromise anything on them?

I live a mile or two away now, so I read the whole thing. I"ll have to stop in and see what chaos I can stir up.

I've posted this question on a few different forums and I"ll admit I'm suprised. I thought most people would say go for the EMP (great warranty, new, SA has great customer service, cheaper mags etc) but the overwhelmping majority says P7. Now if CDNN or topgunsupply would just get a new batch in I'd be set.

I'm leaning towards the HK because with the EMP... I'd want to replace the ambi safety with a Wilson Bulletproof, pay for Log Man on 1911 frorum to modify the magazines to be flush mount, and if I was going to send it out to do that, I'd probably 20 lpi the front strap. How does the P7M8 compare in thickness to the M13? If it's insignificant, I'd go with the 13 just for the extra capacity.

Does anyone have any experience with these guns. I prefer metal guns (yet still on the lighter side) that are thin and easy to conceal. I'd most likely leave the P7 stock... maybe refinished by Robar. The EMP I'd probably get a single side safety and checker front strap 20 LPI. Any thoughts, comments, or recommendations? Jim

Also, forgot to mention, Tanner's prices on most guns were +/- $10 to budsgunshop. I was impressed.

Went to Tanner's Sports Center outside of Doylestown PA...huge selection, probably 50 people at the counter on Friday. Place was swarmed. I asked about the shield and got laughed at (not rudely, but still laughed at). The waiting list is 30+ and 2 people in the store behind me were people on the list! I ended up walking out with an LC9. Anything smaller felt too small like I wouldn't be able to grip securely. I still want to get my hands on either a Springfield EMP 9 or a HK P7M8. The Ruger LC9 though fits the bill. No failures in 300 rounds, and fits in my jacket pocket no problem. Went shopping today to the mall and the whole time had it in a pocket holster in my jacket. GF didn't know until after we got home and told her! Makes me wonder how many other people in the mall/stores were doing exactly what I was doing.

Any known possible reliability issues with the shield? Looks like a good ccw gun. Read on m4carbine though that its really not that much smaller than mp9 compact. Anyone have both?

I have a few quality holsters for my 1911s and sig 228 but I realized that with warmer weather, these might be harder for me to conceal. My minimum caliber is 9mm. I don't want to go much larger than glock 19 size and prefer manual safety. I've been so addicted with full size 1911s the last few years I don't know what good options are out there

Resident. I escaped earlier this month. I had started to become numb to nj insanity being around like minded people all the time. On the way back to my car I was so happy that it took so little time today but driving home I actually got angry re realizing how nj had robbed me of my god given rights for so long. Now it's time to go get a real ccw gun...... With no ppp requirements! Any suggestions?

In PA. Today for the first time I tasted freedom. I walked in to the sheriffs office at 830. At 831 I was helped. At 837 I walked out with a license to carry. Cost was 20 dollars. Thumbs up to Sherriff Duke Donelly

After living and working in central NJ the last few years, my the gf and I finally decided we needed a larger apartment. I didn't want to push PA too hard because she think I'm just obsessed with guns, but she found a place in Yardley that she loves. Going to sign the lease this weekend. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. Already read that the Sheriff in Bucks issues ccw permit in about 20 minutes on a busy day. Now its time to find a good holster/belt. Look into a nice can for the AR. Get a real stock! I warned my gf, once I taste freedom, I'm never going back!

I'm suprised to hear so much love for the Para for off duty/conceal carry. They don't seem to get much love on m4carbine.net or any of the more law enforcement oriented forums. I fired one personally owned Para LDA at SS and it is the only 1911 I've fired that repeatedly failed to fire.

I've purchased from buds 2x, both springfield 1911 pistols. Best prices I could find anywhere. Once I purchased an item in stock, the I reserved. My only complaint if i had to nitpick is that they take a long time to ship. Just because it's in stock, unless you're one of their "VIP" members, it may take 5-7 days to ship. Other than that, nothing unsual to report.

1911's come in all different flavors. Are you looking for a 5" Govt, 4.25" commander, 4" champion (springfield's commander size), officer's sized, etc etc. Rail or non rail? Price range: 400 for a RIA to 6k + plus for full blown custom.

As long as springs are compressed within their designed operating range, they will not wear from being left loaded. Springs wear from cycling. If you want more in depth explanation, you're more than willing to look through my engineering textbooks from college.
