  1. Hey Howard, congratulations on your escape to America! You're not to far from me and JimmyAGR. I'm up in Jacksonville and he's in Nocatee.

if you haven't found it yet, there's a good outdoor range in St. Augustine across Rt 1 from the airport called Saltwater NE.

They are open Wed thru Sun. Mon & Tue the 800 yd range is open, but its expensive and you have to qualify.

The rest of the range has pits with steel and a 100 yd and 200 yd range. They also have a sporting clays course.

i sometimes shoot there, but usually go down to Hastings with Jimmy as he joined a range there with a 1000 yd range.

Best of luck. Feel free to reach out if you need any info.

How are the dogs handling the heat?

Thanks.  I have heard of the range but have not ventured there.  I don't need long distance as I almost exclusively shoot pistols.  I need to find a range to join so I can get some practice time in.  So far the only shooting I have done is USPSA matches and one steel challenge match.  Been up to Fernandina Beach for a match, Gainseville and in St Augustine the Ancient City range and the FOP range for matches.

The dogs are doing fairly well as the AC is always on which was not always the case in NJ.  The two smaller ones don't seem to mind the heat, the big one is definitely not a fan of it and pants a lot.  She has found it very comfortable sleeping in one of the showers where it is very cool.

Have been working what seems almost full time on finding a house to buy, as we are renting right now in St Johns in a community called Ivy Lakes which is off Roberts road.  Have made offers on three houses, of which the last one was accepted only to have the deal fall apart when inspection showed it needed a new roof for $23K and the owner would not put one penny in towards it.  About to put another one in for a home on the Cimarrone Golf course, but the asking price is too high for the market, so we shall see where that goes.  Can't wait to get settled.

  2. Hey Martin,

Good to meet you again. I think we met briefly a few months back. You arrived as I was leaving and just said hello. It was good seeing you again.

    Catch you soon.

    Keith
