  1. Dave, You can purchase a handgun from a private individual in NJ, just not a FFL. I bought my first at 19. Both my friend who was 21 and I had to get permits. He purchased from the store and then I purchased it from him. If the law hasn't changed since 1983, you can legally own a handgun, just can't purchase it from an FFL.

  3. Thanks. I am going to try and make it. If you are going try and post a time you think you'll be there.
  4. Same here, everytime I shoot, which isn't often enough. Hopefully that will change.
  5. Thanks Tb, I was planning on bringing the Gold Cup. Maybe next time if you'd like to shoot.
  6. Do they allow walk-ons? Do you know how much? I may be able to go.

    New Rifle

Congrats on the new rifle. I've been looking for one myself. Where did you find yours?
  8. Looking to get a .22 in the near future. Not sure what I want to get yet. Does anyone know the difference between the S&W 22A and the 22A-1? Thanks.

  12. Thanks. Did they have more? What weight?
  13. Hey Guys, My girlfriend and sister are interested in doing a safety class. Since I have never done one, thought I would join them. Has anyone done it at Shore Shot or Brick Armory? Anyplace else you would recommend in Central Jersey? Thanks.
  14. Bought my first gun, a Colt Trooper Mark V 357 Magnum in 1983 and just started shooting with friends @ the Inner Circle Range in Lakewood. Sold the Trooper in '86 to buy a Colt Gold Cup National Match .45, then in '94 found my stainless Colt Python 357. Currently looking for an AR15. Never took any classes, but I'm looking to do a safety course right now. My girlfriend and sister are interested in taking one, so I thought I'd do it with them. I was looking at doing a safety course at Shore Shot or Brick Armory. Does anyone have an opinion on the courses at either place? Thanks in advance.

    Cavalry Arms?

Anyone know anything about Cavalry Arms? I never heard of them. I have seen a couple of the AR15s available. Thanks for any info.
  17. Hey guys, Just joined a couple of days ago. From Freehold Twp. Currently own a Colt 45 acp Gold Cup National Match and a 6" Stainless Colt Python 357. Looking to get an AR soon.
  18. Hi MSaxatilus, Yes, I was told yesterday that a "pinned stock", which can't be moved, is legal. I would think the magazine needs to be permanently blocked. A friend with an AR said he buys 10 round mags since they don't make 15. Would you care to share where you saw that AR over the weekend? You could pm me if you care to. Thanks. njpilot
  19. Hey maksim, Regarding your response on the highroad: "Should be ok if CA legal. You can have like 3 things on the list. But as long as 10 round mags, no bayo lug, you are pretty much ok." I am interested in an AR15, but a little confused on exactly what is and isn't legal. I was under the impression that birdcage supressors and collapsible stocks were illegal. Do you know for sure that they aren't? I thought I read somewhere that only 2 items: supressor, pistol grip, collapsible stock were legal. Anyone who know for certain and can post, it would be greatly appreciated. Of course the "substantially identical" can really be difficult to know what is legal and what isn't. Would also appreciate people opinions on what is a good make, ie; DPMS or Bushmaster or who? Thanks in advance. NJpilot
  20. Should include this link when writing our representatives http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/564.html
  21. If you do a search, you can find a site with reviews for this range. Some good, some not good at all for purchasing things.
