  1. I've seen some scary pilots and read lots of articles that left me shaking my head over my 25+ year career. My motto now is if I don't know the pilot or there isn't a set of controls in front of me, I'm not getting into a sightseeing helicopter.
  2. There was no autorotation. Low level scud running into rising terrain. Most likely inadvertent IMC (instrument meteorological conditions), loss of control or CFIT (controlled flight into terrain). Although the pilot had his instrument rating, I’ve read he never flew into a cloud. As other instrument pilots here know, flying instruments is a very, very perishable skill. Even with experience, regular currency is required. Compare to airplanes, it’s hard to get actual instrument time in a helicopter. I have 2000 hours in S76B, C+ & C++ helicopters and they are a good IFR helicopter, but many helicopter pilots who don’t fly in the clouds, will generally do everything they can to stay out of them. This isn’t the first crash for these reasons and unfortunately won’t be the last. The fact that they were a only approved for VFR operations should’ve had no bearing on declaring an emergency and climbing above the fog and low cloud layer. Better to deal with the consequences of that then ending up dead and killing 8 other people.
  3. Another scumbag like Kerry, avoiding their "fair share" of taxes. Just like Kerry parked his boat in RI to avoid MA taxes, Bloomturd's jets are registered to Bermuda instead of the states to save him taxes.
  4. When we bought our Temper-pedic 5 years ago, we were told if you sleep on your side, don’t get too firm. We didn’t listen and some mornings, we wake up with our hips or shoulders hurting us.
  5. I do and no I wouldn't. If the price was right and they added a Royal Blue, I'd add one, but wouldn't replace my original stainless.
  6. I’ve heard a lot of the CA to TX are fed up conservatives, so hopefully TX will be safe for awhile.
  7. I already have a 6” stainless, would love a blued if they do it with the original royal blue, but not for those prices. Paid $700 for mine new in 1995. Remember it was $450 new in 1983 when I first wanted to buy one.
  8. Now’s your chance. Colt is bringing the Python back. It’s not cheap, but a lot cheaper than buying a used one. https://www.colt.com/series/python_series?utm_source=Gun Talk Media Newsletter&utm_campaign=aeb2e2a053-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_01_02_03_37&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f041370629-aeb2e2a053-116035001&ct=t(EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_1_1_2020_21_38)
  9. Yeah, I read that, but I think they should just not accept drivers licenses from any state that issues them to illegals. It’ll piss off the legal residents of those states when they need to get some other ID TSA will accept. Wishful thinking
  10. Why would NY do that? They already give licenses to illegal aliens. What we need is for TSA to say any state that give a drivers license to illegal aliens, who don’t have proper ID, that states drivers licenses can’t be used to get on an airplane.
  11. There are plenty of instances of cities in states with preemption laws passing their own restrictions. Sometimes the states fight it and sometimes they don't. Here in FL they can't even punish a town or city that passes restrictions that violate preemption. Who's to say the state would do anything if the city passes the law after a moot ruling?
