It depends on what you are shooting. There's a lot of physical training that can help you with movement in USPSA style shooting. There's also some that can help with recoil control using a modern iso stance. How much help they give you relative to the effort they require depends on where you started in terms of fitness and performance. I have yet to run into any of those things that had significant resistance. I used to recommend a combo of the captains of crush grip trainers and the twist-o-grip, but the twist-o-grip is no longer made. About all that kind of item does for you is let you practice trigger finger isolation. They won't help much with strength unless your grip is starting at piss-poor.

Ok, my take on triggers. Money is no object, any trigger you want category: For accuracy - AR Gold. It is NICE, with some solid engineering. Almost as good as a tweaked jewell trigger, while still being drop a drop in pack. Can be used for shoot fast games as well, but isn't optimal. For shooting fast - Geissele super dynamic 3-gun/super 3-gun. Only difference is flat vs, curved trigger. Reset is insanely strong, pull is bizarre but nice. it takes work if you are going for maximum accuracy though. Willing to spend, but want to get bang for the buck. Geissele SSA-E for a two stage. Timney drop in for a single stage. Willing to take some risk for some savings: JP-rifle DIY trigger install kit. You have to do grinding and adjusting, and might trash it or wind up with something heavier than you want if you don't adjust it right. done right, it is 3-4.5lb (actually you can set it pretty high,but why) single stage with NO take up. If you like prepping the trigger this is NOT for you. If you go this route, get the kit with the speed hammer. Done right, this is probably the best trigger for the money. $120 for the trigger, $40 for the speed hammer. On a budget: rock river arms 2-stage, or a bit more pricey but more likely to be in stock someplace - the armalite 2 stage national match. IMO they are close to the same thing. I'd be willing to take a chance on the ALG act trigger too given it's pedigree and the fact it isn't shooting for the stars and is cheap. All the above are capable of being made reliable and are reasonably durable. Things I would stay away from: JARD adjustable trigger. Nice idea, just way too much tolerance stacking inherent to the design, which means with the right sample of the trigger in the right sample of lower, and you can wind up with a crap trigger or something unsafe and not have a damn thing you can do about it. Anything that comes form someone who files,stones,grinds on the engagement surfaces without putting the finished version back through heat treat. Most trigger parts are NOT through hardened, and you wind up with soft engagement surfaces that will wear quickly. It's penny wise, pound foolish IMO.

Recoil will get harsher because you are moving to a lower weight buffer. If you find that objectionable, and since it has been running with a rifle length buffer, you can dig up a 5oz carbine buffer and it should remain closer to what you have. The lighter buffer will also mean a shorter delay before unlocking due to less mass. This will result in harsher ejection, probably putting bigger dents in the side of the brass adn chewing up the case rim more, and possibly ripping case rims off of softer cases. One of my ARs is a 16" carbine length gas system with a full size ARFX stock. It has been very reliable on feeding, firing, and ejecting.

Looking at your pictures, My best guess is that you have MINIMAL disconnector engagement. It also looks like your disconnector is not square on the left/port/driver's side, yet your hammer pics indicate where that is where what engagement you have is happening. When the right state of recoil/vibration/shooter happens, you might be failing to disconnect, but lucky enough to not have the rifle double.

I'd skip it. Notice the bullets poke out of the bottom on their gauges. That means you have to hold the thing while you fill it. You also pay more than half as much for less than half the capacity. Also, EGW is a US company, DAA is not.

The insert is the polymer rod in the middle of the extractor spring. The original spec spring was not strong enough, especially in overgassed carbine builds, so a new spring weight was specified. To indicate the spring was the new spec, the rod was changed form white (original) to black (new). That's for the military. There are black inserts with weaker springs and white inserts with stronger springs, and I have even seen blue inserts (also in theory stronger than the original spec). The other fix for it was putting in a small o-ring, or a d-ring (more expensive by a lot, wears longer if coupled with a lighter original spec spring though). Often you will now find black insert plus an o-ring. Which can cause fun things like ripping off chunks of case rim if your chamber is sticky and the brass is soft and you are running a carbine length gas system on a 16" (chrome lined chamber seems to help that a bit though).

Per dollar value of the car, you probably do. However, that's because there's likely a lot less total dollar value of claims on the exotic than there is on the gajillion mercuries. What IS insane is that should you get your license suspended for say not getting your car inspected and pissing off a judge and then not paying fines, and THEN discontinue your insurance because you have no car and won't be able to drive for a couple of years. When you get back on insurance, you will pay out the wazoo like you wouldn't believe. Failing to pay into the system carries a penalty greater than having a vehicular homicide on your record. It has it for less years but IMO that's just insane. watching one of my friends go through that after trying to get his act together was fairly Kafkaesque. To round it out, his employer's parking permit people kept on hassling his boss that he wasn't paying for a parking permit while he didn't have a car. As for getting reemed when it seems like people who should be paying more aren't, check to see if you have the limitation of liability waiver or not. No limitation of liability = you pay almost double the rate of the same coverage options with the waiver.

Uk crime stats listed as the stats for the UK are either being misrepresented or are mislabeled. The UK isn't a single nation, and the do not report crimes the same way. For example, in England you don't have a homicide because you have corpse made into such by a third party. You only have a homicide once a conviction is made. On the other hand, scotland reports them similarly to how we do. Their crime stats look much more like ours.

Hmm, you must have more going against you than just that. I have had one claim in the late 90s and it didn't affect my premiums. It happened in an at fault state and wasn't. My wife recently totaled her car, and it was only about $70 a month on the premium. We've both had our policies forever and are net profitable though.

The politicians can worry. But being politicians, they worry about keeping their pockets lined with your money for one more term. More gun owners means more people to piss off. Heck, even if you are just worried about violence against you, increasing numbers of owners also helps. You have to ask how many armed people are you pissing off. AT one point, one of the DC RKBA type lobbyists wrote an article about the sales and importation figures when the ban hit causing quite a stir. Plenty of people thought they were attacking a marginal portion of a marginal segment of the public. We were importing pretty much everything on the planet we could to get around the ban. The purchasing power of the offended segment of the population caused notice. The fact they were pissed off enough to spend that kind of money caused people to take notice. The fact that that many people with that much money who were pissed off at their government were arming themselves to a degree that they were probably wielding more small arms with more supplies than most nations on the planet made them take notice. People got worried about their votes and about their safety. I think many politicians were relieved when shooters just showed up at the voting booth to express their outrage. I wish I still had the article, because the numbers were pretty staggering. My form of activism has been to mint as many new gun owners as I could manage. A topic becomes much different when it is about YOU. Ok, to be super clear on my build as I have been asked some questions in pm. Not all shotgun shells are the same length. European shells designated the same 2-3/4" as us shells are very often shorter. This means you need to be careful. Long anti tilt follower in my parts list + Nordic plus two tube + Nordic 3/4" Xl cap = just barely legal with short european shells. Comfortably legal with us shells. Stock follower + Nordic plus two tube + Nordic 3/4" Xl cap = you can fit a 7th shell if using shorter European shells. Don't do that. Long anti tilt follower in my parts list + Nordic plus two tube as it comes = you can't fit 6 of longer us shells. That's all that I have tested with.
