  1. Been itching to get a 204. Light recoil, accurate at semi long range, reloadable, practice your rifle skills ( kind of new to rifles), a huntable (varmint, small game) if I get the desire. Any suggestions for accuracy, dependability & reasonably priced out of the box?
  2. I became a member there just to shoot on the rifle range. Been trying to go about twice a month since October (when I finally got my SR primers). Basically, teaching myself to shoot rifle (AR) there while doing some load development as well. The rimfire range is fun also...except you have to keep setting the metal targets up constantly. Good place to shoot. For the most part everyone has been friendly. Some attitudes at times from PA residents about Jersey people shooting at "their range". FYI. on hot days...the ranges can get unbearably hot and very uncomfortable. I have been very jealous at times what I see being shot by PA residents. PA is such a GREAT GUN state!!! The Exxon also has pretty good coffee besides the tasty sandwiches.
  3. Hi Steve, Welcome to the forum. Nutley huh? Just started working in Nutley...about 3 weeks now. Small World Al
  4. Hi Drew, Welcome to the forum & to the shooting sports. If you like you can be my guest at SCFGPA in Bridgewater, it is close to Flemington & it is open till 11 pm I also have an XD in 45 & a Glock G19...a couple of 22's as well. Al
  5. I have trapped about 5 groundhogs in the past 3 years or so. They seem to take a long time to get into the trap. I have been releasing them in a nearby park. Just found out about 2 weeks ago that was a no no. Silly law, try to be humane and you can get into trouble. They are a nasty freakin thing. Lately it seems that the chipmunks are running rampant...I keep seeing holes pop up. There is a trick I have been using involving a 5 gal bucket, sunflower seeds & water. The mice are making nests in everything....my BBQ's that are covered, my outdoor furniture (also covered) my ride on lawn mower, my firewood stack etc etc. And to make matters worse...my neighbor has several cats that come on my lawn to piss & shit. I wouldnt mind so much if they at least got rid of the all these pests. I didnt remember seeing this much activity when my dog was around.
  6. I have chipmunks, mice & groundhogs trying to take over my back yard. I need some advice, suggestions &/or service from a professional. Its getting rediculous with these freakin things.
  7. AWESOME...just freakin awesome!!!   I can see one of those in my garage But, its 10k
  8. I would be interested in either Berry's or Zero FMJFP's I have been waiting for 3k of Zero 124 FMJ FP's since July. They say they arent in production. I tried 1k of Berry's FMJ FP's in lieu of the Zero's. I like them, would keep using them. Zero, Berry, Missouri & Powder Valley all great companies. Use them all. Good choices Max. Thanks for hard leg work.
  9. Sorry to stir up the pot so much. I just thought it was stupid to have a law for a common sense approach. Not make the law public & to take advantage of it with a patrol car up further than the stopped vehicle. I am kind new to NJ, keep forgetting about the Outstanding Politicians here. By the way, a couple of years ago I had a report filed with Bridgewater PD. A young officer, on the job for about three years. We talked for a while, once in the station & another time he actually came to my house He flat out told me he was not a civil servant. He has no job security. I think it went something like " if my Chief has a hardon for me, I can be fired anytime" "if I dont write out enough tickets, I can be fired" Just saying....
  10. The law is not just for police cars that have motorists stopped. From the NJ Gov. page - There has to be some common sense in today's society. It should be a gimme to slow down or move over. I have two problems with the law. How is the average motorist know about it? Dont like the fact that some LE will actually work in tandem to stop motorists that do not slow down enough or move over. This is how I found about the new law. My friend's mother was pulled over on 287 in the right lane for doing 45. They had a car stopped with another police car in front of the stopped vehicle. The "other" police car pulled her over for not changing lanes. Mind you, she is a 62 year grandmother of seven. A naturally born "slow" driver. The type you definitely go around. She wont even listen to the radio while driving because she feels that it is a distraction. Its bad enough most people dont know about the law...but to work in tandem to get a notch in your ticket book this way!!! Such BS
  11. Its okay lol I can't speak for all car washes...but when I am questioned about that, I take a shovel, put it over the magnet that senses the car (to trick the equipment into thinking there is really a car there) and bring the customer into the tunnel to see the wash process with no car present. They typically get all wet from the underwash spraying the ceiling, so in other words, yes...you do get it. And you can see our wax, its all different colors and foamy. Never questioned them on it. But it is something that makes you go hmmm. I pay for it anyway.
  12. Wow, a vent thread. Where to begin? Slow drivers in the left lane People texting, eating cereal, yogurt, reading their newspaper & talking on the phone while driving. Especially if they are doing all of the above at the same time...THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF People driving with their high beams on in the opposite direction. Some moron driving on top of my rear bumper. Dishonesty Infomercials Reality shows. Isnt there enough of them already? Radar Guns NJ property taxes NJ Gun Laws Lawyers..all kinds. Blood suckers. If they are on your side -they bleed you dry. If you are opposite them - they bleed you dry. Pharmacuetical Companies - are total freakin rip offs Wanna be wise guys ---"dont you know who I am?'' Car washes - do you really get wax/sealer, undercarriage wash? Sorry Chad Technical/ support phone help - you would think they would want them to speak english NJ Property Taxes NJ Gun laws Oh, I already mentioned those 2 A yield sign is not the same as a freakin stop sign All the mailings & the donation requests that the NRA sends me Menu prompts on various phone numbers that you need to call. Press 1 to continue, press 2 if you are hearing this message, press 3 if you want to listen to this over & over again until you say fuck it and hang up I would tell you how I really feel but.....
  13. Wow. Thanks for the quick reply. Wouldnt have believed it for not the link you sent. How would the average poor bastard know about this?
  14. 9:45 and no snow in Bridgewater....yet. Shhhhhhhhh :!: :!: Dont wish for it too much, dont want to be shoveling all weekend. :hope: :hope:
  15. I was told today that there is a NJ law on the books that makes it illegal to drive in the lane adjacent to a car stopped by a police officer. For example...If an officer has someone pulled over on the right side shoulder, you have to move over to the center or left lane if you are in the right lane. And vice a versa if you are in the left lane and they are in the left shoulder. The law is called " Reckless endangerment to a police offer '' Is there any truth to this?
  16. It is chambered for 5.56, its just easier to say 223 for some reason. I guess it depends also what brass you are using. Commercial brass would be 223 while military/nato would be 5.56. Is that politically correct?
  17. If you have a 5.56 chamber you can shoot .223 Rem but not the converse. Also 5.56 is loaded to higher pressures. Here's the chamber dimension differences. +1 http://ar15barrels.com/data/223vs556.pdf
  18. [quote name="Old School Excuse me if I came accross as an A-hole. Any help I can give you I will. I guess I've been reloading for about 35 years so I take a lot for granted. PM me and I'll give you my phone #. I'll answer any questions I can and chat about your equipment' date=' procedeures and quality checks. Yes I have formal quality checks throughout the process and record them. Just incase I ever get a Ka-boom and I survive I can go back and investigate. Frank - at the HELP line[/quote] Thanks for the offer. Its nothing in general. Its just I have been reloading on my own. All my loads have worked as they should.Looking to see if I can do things better or something. There is always room for improvement in everything we do. Right now I have been experimenting with OAL/lands/ogive/sizing for my 223 AR. People tell me I am wasting my time, just load to max length. I would like to learn a better & more exact way to adjust my sizing dies. Keep making dummy loads to set OAL for various bullets. Now, I am so lazy I have a different turret set up for the different bullets I load in 9mm & 45acp calibers. Just bought a Forster Competition sizing die with micrometer for .223. Havent really set it up yet.
  19. . Thats how I feel. Maybe I picked some bad habits or something. You always have room to learn...if you are open to not "KNOWING EVEYTHING" There are probably plenty of people on here that want to start reloading and want to see it first hand. Being that I have been reloading for a while, maybe I can lend a hand as well as possibly picking up a few things. Just trying to help out a little while possibly helping myself
  20. Dont know. Thats why I want to see it first hand from someone else.Being that I taught myself from books and the internet...maybe I am doing things wrong. Maybe I can learn some tricks of the trade. Maybe I picked up some bad habits. Safe - Yes.Accurate - Yes but probably could get even more accurate.Saving Money - thats a tough one. -Yes & no...always buying equipment & components. But if I had to buy the ammo that I have loaded, it would been a hell of a lot more. Definitely shooting more. Efficiently? Dont know for sure...dont have anything to compare it to. How do you guage efficient? You never know, have to keep an open mind. Maybe I can help someone as well.
  21. http://www.njgunforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=277 Self taught myself reloading. Been loading about two years now...I would still be interested in a class.
